This item drops from trash mobs in Rovine di Ahn'qiraj and Ahn'qiraj and can also be found in Forziere dello Scarabeo or Grande Forziere dello Scarabeo in the same areas, respectively.

Scarabs are used for redeeming epic items through quests provided near the raid entrance in Rovine di Ahn'qiraj or after the first boss, Profeta Skeram, in Ahn'qiraj (quest-givers' approximate coordinates are 59,68). The items that require reputation with Circolo Cenariano are redeemed in Rovine di Ahn'qiraj, while the ones requiring Stirpe di Nozdormu are redeemed in Ahn'qiraj.

Also, any player who has progressed through the Il sentiero dell'Invocatore quest chain from Anacronos all the way to earn Anello con Sigillo dello Stormo dei Draghi di Bronzo may trade in their ring for another (Anello con Sigillo dello Stormo dei Draghi di Bronzo or Anello con Sigillo dello Stormo dei Draghi di Bronzo) by completing Il cambio di sentiero - Non più Invocatore, also from Anacronos, requiring 15x Scarabeo di Cristallo.

As of 10.2.5 Dragonflight, Demon Hunter, I went to the vendors and they had nothing for sale. I pulled down the window and clicked ALL but still nothing for sale. However, you can still vendor your stuff with them. I would say it is safe to sell the scarabs for the small amount of gold you will get for them.
