It's a unique-drop mount, so all races can ride it. Same goes for the Swift Razzashi Raptor or Fiery Warhorse. The race-specific rules only apply to the generic mounts for each race.

This is mostly correct, except for the Winterspring Frostsabers -- while the Trainers are technically a neutral faction, only Alliance are able to get those tigers, which has long been an issue of contention with Horde. Apparently Horde were supposed to get a similar Raptor faction in Un'Goro, but this was never implemented.

So far Blizz has only confirmed the Bear mount is going bye-bye. It's important to notice that the bear is a gaurantee, while the Raptor and Tiger are chance drops, and not very good odds to boot. Even 80's storming ZG and wrapping up the mount-drop bosses in 5 minutes doesn't mean they are going to get the mount. As said countless times, raid drop mounts are supposed to be rare and signs of achievement. Something for people to brag about. Riding this tiger is certainly one hell of an achievement. I've only ever seen one person on it. The other day I saw a guild roll up on The Sunwell, and all 25 of them were on a bear. The bear is simply not special anymore, and this tiger mount is about as special as mounts get.

A karma stroy some might find interesting...

I was doing my usual one a week attempt to get this mount on my prot paladin. I managed to get the three trolls down (after about 8 mins) and begin work on high priest thekal. I got him to 10% and my 1 year old boy decides to press the reset button on my computer.

I rapidly try to log back in, hoping that I would still be alive. I get in to find my self with 4 tigers on me and I am at 5% health. Lay of hands, back to full, kill the tigers, look around for thekal. Hes on the ground a little way off, whilst disconnected I had apparently been forced punched away from him.

I try to get to his body, only to find the force punch pushed me into the cage wall and I could not escape it. His glittering body is outside of my reach. After trying to escape this position I sigh and regrettably have to unstick myself back to Dalaran. So I hurredly get to Orgrimmar, and begin the journey back to ZG to loot the body. I get to the instance and cant zone in. The reboot of the pc somehow dropped my raid group as well.

Frantically I ask guildies for help to try and get into a raid for 1 minute. Almost all are offline. The rest are either grouped or afk. Then I pst random lowbies in stv. At my 10th lowbie I get a response and thankfully can rezone in. I get to the body, hoping to see that he is still glittering and indeed he is....

And the mount finally dropped.

Nobody's mentioned it because it wasn't put there for that purpose. Just because this is a tiger with armor and can be ridden doesn't mean it's a shout-out to something in real life. The Night Elves have been riding around on tiger mounts before Zul'Gurub was put into the game, and they're not homage to Cringer either. This tiger mount is orange with black stripes. Cringer is green with orange stripes. The only animal in game with that kind of coloring is a quest spawn in Felwood.

However, there is an NPC in game that is clearly a shout-out to Cringer. That's the battle cat lying beside Adam Eternum, the Arathi Basin battlemaster, in Shattrath City. Disappointingly, that mount is also orange with black stripes, but I surmise Blizzard did not make it green with orange stripes because players would whine they want to be able to obtain that mount from somewhere in game.

You just said it yourself. It's very unique because of the color and because this is the only cat a horde can ride sofar.
It had an extremely low droprate and was an *enourmous* gasp moment when it dropped for a 20m raid group for both factions.

Then:
- Zul'Gurub resettet 1/2 times pr week ( depends how you look at it)
- Required 20 raiders which had to /roll or bid dkp
- Took 3-4 hours for a clear
- Extremely low drop rate

TBC/Wrath
- Groups of 2-5 ppl could kill both bosses within 1 hour
- Certain classes could solo them in Wrath in 15 min

As a result, the amount of ppl who had these mounts were inflated by alot.

In my Vanilla/TBC time there was 3 who had this mount on my server and boy, did they make an entry where ever they came riding.
Now with Cataclysm, Blizzard saw an opportunity to claim Zul'Gurub and make use of the space as an interactive quest hub.

Luckely I get way more out of World of Warcraft as you seemingly do.
Did you farm it since TBC? Did you farm it during Wrath? If not, then you had your fair share of chance of getting it, quit the sad face.

Blizzard have just announced that the Zul'Gurub and Zul'Aman instances will be making a return in 4.1. For people wondering, the raptor, tiger and bear will be back in new forms - they'll look different from the old models, but no word on how to attain them yet.

I got this Mount about February last year and i'll tell ya alot of farming was put into a mount that had a 0.70% drop rate took me atleast 200kills! , im glad blizz replaced it with new mounts but these new ones don't even compare to the old ZG mounts.

I am not in the Mists beta, but can anyone see if this is going to be on the new Black Market AH? Because if it is...I am spending all my gold to get it - I had been soloing the original ZG for years and it never dropped :-( But when I heard about the Black Market AH - hope flickered in my heart about whether or not one of the two things I always wanted when I got into WoW. 1. I remember getting this mount, was a funny story. Back in Wrath an old guild friend asked me to come help him do a 2 man run through ZG, he was a rogue, i was a dwarf hunter. We did the tiger boss, tiger dropped, i won it! Happy days for my first run. I felt bad my friend didnt get it, so we did it again the next week, and Bam, it dropped again, 2 tigers in 2 runs. I remember the first time I laid eyes on this creature of beauty.

Funny story how I got this mount actually, it was wrath and my friend asked for my help to down the boss. This was my first time ever going to kill this boss but I was not oblivious to what he wanted and why. The mount dropped of course, and I needed it as he did also. I won and my friend quit WoW forever. Totally worth it!

I ran the old ZG for this mount around 10 times on both my paladin and hunter. It was the last day before the shattering patch would remove the old raid and I figured 'meh, why not go for one more try'. within hours of the patch hitting I took my paladin and it dropped! Had 0 hope for it dropping too.

I really wish this was still available in some form since I believe everyone deserves at least a shot at it.

when i was in lvl 80, i didn't knew too much from the game ... i saw people with this mount and it was such a beautiful mount and i wanted it .. i discovered that it was a drop in ZG, so i invited a lot of people, including low lvl people ( lower than 80) and went to ZG ... was the first time i was doing it, and dropped the raptor and the tiger, but i couldnt get it because it was on group loot and i lost the roll for the 2 mounts to a low lvl, and now i can never have it ...

I really think that this mount should be added to the game again as a drop. There is no reason for blizzard to remove it. And for those who say that they "earned" this mount just stop come on like, Imagine if they removed Ashes of Al'ar and you were farming for it, but then the next day its gone for no good reason and its replaced by a gryphon..How would you feel about that? Bad i'm assuming because you put all that time and effort into obtaining that one mount. Also if you got this mount to show off and have people whispering to you asking where you go it and saying that its gone and that its never coming back, is total BS.

Compare this model to the new current model. What do you see? I see a piece of trash to be honest. This one has so much detail and actually looks like a product that blizzard put some time and work into, but then they decided to replace it with a plain black cat that really is unimpressive and you can put it next to a black garbage bag and you would find some resemblance, thats how bad it is.

So why cant we have this back? Is it because some people have specific mount and they think that we shouldn't have them because they'll be special by crushing someones hope and making themselves feel superior about it?
Why not have a throw back week? I mean come on who wouldn't like to go back and see Vanilla dungeons one last time? Who wouldn't want to attempt to obtain the Ashbringer? Yes these things are rare and removed but everyone who didn't have a chance should be given one. I know this mount and many other deleted things are now obtainable from the BMAH, but look at the prices...We're talking roughly 1million gold for this tiger. Yes you can obtain it for a cheaper price from a container but you will usually fail at getting it from there. Plus who has the time to farm all day and night for gold? seriously... Average players can barely make 100k. Those who have a good AH reputation can easily make 500k on average. But usually most of us are under the 100k zone, making it almost impossible to get.

Now like i said we should have a throwback week, It could be like that lvl100 Molten Core that we had going on but this time the old content will be available to play, of course at a lvl 100 scale. We should have a specific boss or mob that drops a few items that have been removed, but the drop rate wouldn't go up or down. Maybe throw in some new gear pieces like that lvl 100 crown from Ragnaros that was only available for a certain amount of time.
Why not make something like that? Im sure it would be fun, because not only are you given a chance to obtain these items but you get to do something that you haven't experienced before. :3

Now i don't want people replying to me saying that this is a terrible idea, but then again it is an opinion and and an idea so it doesn't mean that they will actually do it.

Just to clarify, as many comments state that this is not available anymore, this is not true. This mount still is available, as it is sold on the Black Market Auction House (BMAH). So yes, it is going to be very difficult to obtain, and if so, likely very expensive, but this is obtainable.

In screenshots comparing the old model with the new one, it's kind of like aesthetically comparing a Harley with a Suzuki. Yeah they're both roadworthy; but one actually LOOKS COOL! Especially the way the Swift Zulian Tiger looks so laid back and comfortable - "It's a cushy ride."

I can understand why Blizz changed the model, and made the old one unique to harken back to a time when obtaining the original was a real feat. . . But they didn't have to make the new one suck in comparison. In my opinion (and I've heard many players say the same thing in Trade Chat and in Vent) the new mount is OK; but it's kinda bland and. . . Meh. It's worth getting if you want more mounts; but aesthetically it's nothing to write home about.

The very few people who disagree and say "the new one looks cooler", they may want to look up the story of The Fox and The Grapes. It's easy to put something down just because it makes you feel better, because you know you can never have it . . . The rest of us know the old model had REAL CLASS! And though we know we will never own one, we admire it's beauty.

Personally, I would rather that Blizz completely redesigned the mount to be as cool and unique as the original, but completely different . . . OR I would rather they decreased the drop rate of the old model and made it more rare (harder to get). Granted the drop rate was already insanely low; but it was so cool that it made trying worth it. My nephew and I used to run the old raid all the time (unfortunately it never dropped). But when looking at the new version, I just don't feel motivated to try.

And the same goes for the Armani War Bear (and Battle Bear). The colors on new model are just so bland. I own it and ride it, but whenever I'm on it it seems someone inevitable comes along on the old model, and it makes mine feel cheap - because the original was just so cool and vibrant red!

I got this amazing mount today from a black market container. It has always been my favorite mount, I was a rogue in wotlk and was unable to farm it due to me dying so easily and I was too lazy to level up a dk or druid. I have had this regret of not farming it ever since they took it out of the game. I thought I would never get it but in mop I found out that it could be sold on the bmah, I was so happy until I realized that I was horrible at making gold and could never afford it. I have never seen it on the bmah as an item. Last night I decided that I was going to bid on a container. It was a last minute bid between me and some other guy and I decided to bid on it one last time at 60k and go to bed. I woke up this morning and the container was in my mailbox. I wrote my guild that I was opening it and as soon as I did, I almost had a heart attack I was so hyper and shaky. By far the best experience I've ever had in this game and to anyone still wanting this mount, it's still out there. Good luck!

With the new 10m gold cap , tokens at 100k+ and the bots ravaging the economy.....i have to give up this mount, i can't compete with people playing ONLY to get gold, oh, i did get a couple mounts from bmah when the cap was 954k, but honestly...

I got the spider mount and now i'm not going to pick any more herbs until i feel like it, expecially not for some mount that's more a nostalgia token than anything else.

To anyone saving for this mount i wish good luck, but to anyone who, like me, realized it's not worth to spend the summed up gold for something like the next 3-4 gold sink mounts into a low texture tiger i say, welcome to the "Fox who doesn't reach the grapes says they're sour" club, grab your free glass of salt water and wait for when blizzard makes timewalking raids so we can farm this again.

I had been farming the raptor mount for few weeks and one day I thought you know what I'll kill the the other boss he drops a mount too. so I killed it on 4 characters and nothing.

I thought you know what my hunter has stupid good luck sometimes I'll try him, I had not even entered this place with my hunter before.

So I went up to him and started firing away and nearly died myself. But he fell and he dropped the mount I sat there stunned. Wadena even the mount I was after. Now it's 2018 and it's my most ridden mount.

One of the advantages of being on a small server is while our raiding guilds are non-existent, our BMAH prices are good. Bought it off the BMAH for "only" 2,213,000 gold... I farmed ZG weekly+ before the changes to the raid (turning it to a dungeon), so happy to get it nearly a decade later!

I got this today out of an Unclaimed Black Market Container for 100k. If you're considering buying up the BMAH boxes for this or other mounts/pets etc, you will have a better time on low population servers (my main's server is luckily quite low-pop) but may face competition from others with the same idea. Now that we are further into BFA and the deflation that came with it, and many people have spent their Legion gold, BMAH bidders seem less willing to run the bids up as high as before (at least on low/med pop servers) so winning bids feels a bit more doable.

I got mine back in Wrath when a friend of mine was soloing it every week for his blood dk. He asked if I wanted to come and farm with him (chillin in Vent) bc they were taking it out of the game. I said "Sure, never seen that raid anyways." When it dropped I remember him yelling "ROLL ON IT! NEED ROLL!" His urgency I found funny because there was no one else in the raid with us, but I was excited like he was non-the less =). I proceeded to lose the roll... but because he already had the tiger on his main he said "...go ahead man, its yours." (This was before mounts were shared across your account.) Lucky for us, now we BOTH have it on ALL our toons. Over the years I lost touch with this guy, but on the off chance you ever read this... thank you TwilightHand-Eitrigg!

STILL the best mount in the game (1000 mounts later).

If you play on a low pop server and it shows up. Dont gold cap it, you can get the mount out for like 5-8 million maybe, and save a couple millions, more worth than just gold cap it right away, it was up on my server low pop for 10 hours i was highest bid of 2.4 million,and then in middle of all someone just gold capped it to max, dont do it, u can save alot of gold and dont have to gold cap this.

Took me several years to get it. Farmed it alone, as tank, and it dropped one day. The one I really wanted was the raptor, not the tiger. I did ask a game master if I could exchange my tiger for the raptor but he said no. Please note that the typo has been fixed in the mount button description. Submitted a screenshot of the tiger relaxing its paws in front of the maw tunnel in Oribos :)

I play on EU - Stormscale (H) and im sitting on gold cap. Would it be smarter to just insta cap the mount when it appears or try to snag it for around 5m? Im scared someone else will cap it if i bid 5m.

Got this mount for 9 999 999 Gold on Medivh/Suramar EU, logged to find it on the bidding list about 2-3 minutes after the daily black market reset. Once I capped it, 2-3 other players showed up who appeared to also be looking to get the mount, and Medivh/Suramar is a really low pop server, meaning that competition for this mount is only increasing with each passing day regardless of what server you play on, and I've been camping the black market every single day with goldcap on 2-3 servers looking for the tiger and the brutosaur, and it took me 1 year 3 months to get just the tiger, still no brutosaur, so best of luck to anyone looking to yoink this mount!
Got the mount in the mail the next day and got the Tigre Zuliana achievement instantly after I learned the mount!

Epic story time regarding this mount

Its wrath of the lich king expansion, peak wow, 2009 and the PTR for season 7 pvp gear is up for testing.

I played a ret paladin and a rogue back then. I loved duels, was really good at them, and generally enoyed them.

On the PTR you were allowed to buy season 7 pvp gear for testing, so I copy over my ret paladin, buy the pvp gear,
and start dueling everyone on the PTR. I would rarely lose so for fun I thought "Hey let me go into the
ZG raid and get the 2h weapon off Hakkar and use it for duels to make them more challenging." Plus I thought
it would be cool if I can solo the raid. A Level 60 weapon would make the duels more fun I thought.

Worst. Decision. Ever.

I solo the entire raid for the first time ever, and the TIGER MOUNT DROPPED.

I couldnt believe it. I was in total shock, then I realized I was on the PTR. I was heartbroken and angry at the
same time. I didnt even want to take a screenshot of the mount dropping.

I have been playing WoW since 2005 and its been 17 painful years that I still havent gotten the tiger mount.
I plan on hitting gold cap in 2023 and hopefully will gold cap the mount on the black market auction house.

P.S.----the 2h weapon dropped off Hakkar as well in that run =P I will update this page when I finally get the mount!

This is truly the most beautiful mount in the game. I got it back in WotLK. I was in booty bay and because I wasn't too far away from the raid I thought, why not try it! While I was on my way there a friend /w me and asked if he could come just for fun. I told him that's fine, but I'm going for the mount so when it drop it's mine. He agreed because it never drops right.
So we went in, it actually was my very first time, we killed the boss, and BAM! MOUNT DROPS! My friend was a bit quiet because he couldn't believe it. But he's was a gentleman and kept his promise.

He quit WoW a lot time ago. I still play. All these years I never use another ground mount on my main. Only this beauty for me.

(I also went for the zulian panther when I came back during BFA after a long break. Also got that one first try. Ty Blizz gods)

Someone told me, that wow classic accounts that got this mount - will have their retail account gain it too, when ever they drop patch 4.0.3. Coz that's where it went away. Can someone confirm or deny that?
- not playing classic, but I will if ^thats true.

UPDATE on how black market is now working as of 6th Sept 2023 (10.1.7 launch for EU)

It would appear that the NPC Dama Xiulan is no longer interactable and will not show any black market listings for any character regardless of level.
Dama Goya is now the only NPC in the black market room that shows item listings, which can only be used by level 70 characters, meaning you can no longer check and bid on items on the black market using low level characters (level 1s, level 10s allied race, class trials level 60). Which is good news for people camping the black market on their servers and no longer have to compete with random level 1-10s who use spare accounts to bid on items.

Both NPCs used to offer bmah items ever since the start of DF. Dama Xiulan offered items for any character of any level, and Dama Goya was for max level characters only, which made absolutely no sense if you ask me, but it would appear that it's been fixed and now it works exactly how it was back in Shadowlands.

Best of luck to anyone hunting for Zulian/Brutosaur!

I camped the BMAH daily for four months on eight different servers (none of them were linked) at 11:30p PST and only saw it three times. I finally got it last night. I was the first to get a bid in, and I capped it immediately. Come prepared with a gold capped character if you want a chance at this beautiful mount. You cannot imagine how happy and ecstatic I was to finally call this my own!

One more thing to keep in mind, the 'bid box' in the BMAH window lets you write in eight digits, gold cap is only seven! When I saw SZT pop up, I spammed "9" and was panicking because it wouldn't let me bid! LOL
