I've had this for a couple days now - seems like the proc is really bad; maybe 1 proc per 5 mobs or so. Make sure to put Fiery on it - it's nice to have the extra burst damage. :)

Was wonderin if this sword would be good for a fury warrior i currently duel weild sm and rfd swords but thinking about switchin to 2hd but its speed is a little high so i was wonderin if ne one has ne comments i would love to hear them

well i think this weapon is far away the best for a twinking warrior/pala in lvl 30-39 cause of its dps not its max damage 43.4 dps also warrior doesn't have mortal strike in lvl 39 so its not as bad as you see cause the speed rox :) put sword specialization and see results ( arms talents )

i have this sword havent used it yet because i made a warrior just for this sword and i belive it will be fricking crazy

yes fiery could help but not nessicerily the best there is always a counterweight

if you are used to the duel wield speed a counterwieght will really boost the attack speed of this sword but you can only have either an enchant or a counterweight not both

NOTE: you need a lvl 165 blacksmith to attach the counterweight for you :P give it a try

I absolutely love this weapon. The buyout price is relatively low, and the dps is... amazing. The proc rate is a bit low but it's just luck of the draw. ;) A savagery enchant-I think- is the best choice if you want to get some nice stats on it. http://www.wowhead.com/?spell=27971

Ive had this sword for a couple of days now and id have to say the proc is pretty decent. I didnt buy it for the proc tho, i bought it for the DPS...Excellent, excellent DPS. If you cannot afford to buy this sword, or just dont wanna spend endless hours farming it, I would reccommend the Ravager, Mograines Might, The Rockpounder, or Stoneslayer :)

Great twink weapon for a Pally / Warrior. However for a warrior @ the 39 bracket they have improved slam, (the poor man's Mortal strike) so a slow weapon such as the POD is still more desirable.

Let's not be ridiculous. While I completely agree with your statement about a ret pally wanting a slower weapon for SOC, you have to look at what is available. The POD http://www.wowhead.com/?item=9425 is the best 39 Pally / Warrior twink weapon, however it is also one of the most difficult items to obtain. The Nightblade also has 4.5 more dps and imo a better proc because it's not affected by armor and can't be dodged, parried etc. This is easily the 2nd best twink weapon and the best that most anyone will ever be able to wield, so imo that makes it "great".

This sword is not all that great. for any 2h melee a good DPS is around 2.00 - 2.90 for slower but more dmg, its dmg rating is hugh but wont do all that much dmg cause of speed its a good 2h sword to grind on low lvls for 2h skill but for a good 2h melee class sword i would suggest sul'tharze the lasher.

I got this dropped from a 44 Naga in STV. Kind of sucks that I can't use two handed. Currently, the average price on AH is 290g, with around a 390 buyout.

Like Zuth, I had this drop from some lowly Naga in STV. I had it in AH for a while at 220g on Smolderthorn Server, but no one was buying. Eventually I gave up trying to get what it's worth and sold it for 150g, which is still nothing to scoff at considering I did nothing for it. (Too bad the horde that were camping me hadn't been killing the naga, or they might have found it instead. :) ) Anyway, apparently it doesn't sell well sometimes because it's typically preferred to have a slower sword that does more damage instead of this, which is crazy fast for a 2 hander but does less damage. Still a pretty good twink item though.

IMO being in countless battlgrounds against Alliance, the proc is actually quite decent. i crit for 600+ MS and i destroy many others in AB and in WSG. HORDIES FTW!!!

I wouldn't even consider using this weapon for 39 twinking. PoD is obviously better, but, assuming you're a warrior, there's Whirlwind Axe. Less DPS, but higher top end and slower weapon making it better for hitting people harder.

Pallies are harder to gear up, unless you can get PoD, just stick with Corpsemaker from 29 or find a quest item that could be useful.

You are much more likely to find this on the AH then to achieve it farming. There are probably a good 300-500 people on any given server that are questing mobs that may drop this, even though they might not kill as fast as a 70, they still outnumber you, there's 4 on my AH, and I probably couldn't get 1 in a week if I sat around farming it in STV.

After using this for a considerable amount of time, the beauty of this weapon is it's proc rate - it proc's - a lot.

This is the best weapon of the bracket, with the exception of the Pendulum of Doom being a possibility.

For people doubting this weapon's viability for a Paladin, it's a good weapon in the bracket.

If you have a good amount of AP, the quick attack speed gives a more sustained, pressurising DPS in the PvP perspective.

I cannot help but think of the amount of times the Paladin hits an opposing player down to 10HP with a 3.4+ speed weapon and has to wait another whole 3.4 seconds before they can strike again.

For the 30-39 bracket, it's all about speed.

Seems like its too fast. imo i would rather have Bloodied Arcanite Reaper for twink 39. Even thought you lose the TBC enchants all you have to do is pop crusader on this and its good. Even if you dont put ANY enchants on . Reaper is far more better for PvP (and/or twinking)

Bonebiter is non-arguably the best 39 Ret Pala/Warrior weapon. A few more DPS is replaced by the +20 Str which gives 40 AP = approx. 3.3 DPS, which makes Bonebiter have 1.3 less DPS, which is ALSO replaced by the +100 HP you get. The proc is replaced by the awesome speed and the higher end damage, which increases your nice SoJ/Overpower crits by A LOT.

When I replaced the Nightblade with Bonebiter on my 39 Warrior, my Overpower crits on Rogues went from 450-500 to 580-650. Don't also forget that Arms Warrior rely much more on slower weapons with the Taste of Blood and Polearm Specialization talents, which ALSO give awesome crits.

It's all about the crits.
+ Bonebiter is much easier to obtain and can be easily obtained while farming SM for Mail drops.

What ever you do, don't waste your time and/or money putting Fiery enchant on this like suggested in these comments, it is too weak of an enchant for this weapon. Use Savagery. This weapon is meant to deal maximum damage, given that you have enchanted your armor with the right enchants. I concentrate on strength and agility helping the NightBlade provide kick ass Damage.

This is obviously a 39 twink warrior weapon for PVP so you wont have to worry about it procing every 5 mobs if you are in a BattleGround. I have been using this on my 39 twink warrior for a year now, and I couldn't ask for a better weapon, other than PoD, which we all know is next to impossible to get.

This wep has such a great proc, but the DPS is unbelievable especially for a lvl 39. I would pay at least 300g for this sword, but luckily, I found it for only 270 g on my server. Don't forget to enchant it when you get it. Looks very pleasing to the eye.

Got this on my Hunter at lvl 45. My friend was about to throw it out like vendor trash.. So I rescued it. Still have it, got a Fiery on it and now it's my roleplay weapon! When I hit lvl 100 (should that level come), I'll still have it =/. It's a good enough blade to whereas it lasted me until lvl 57. It's Epic =O

I was running this on my warrior and a hunter ninja'd it. I thought Blizzard made it so if you couldn't even use something, you can't need it. Apparently not. Now a hunter has this incredibly rare BoE, but it's soulbound since he needed it and he can't use it. Lovely. :)

As of today 06/19/23 I was doing rep farming for Insane in the Membrane and this dropped off mobs over by caverns of time that count for the rep grind. I was at it for about 4 hours. I also had a group going because of the rep buff for Sanctuary. Hope that helps!
