Ok, so just to clarify since it's abit confusing, atleast it was for me. The mount is called Iska's Mawrat Leash, but it actually drops from Rhuv, Gorger of Ruin, which is abit funny since Rhuv is a dragon, and not a mawrat. This essentially means, you have to tag Rhuv to be eligible to loot the mount, and not Iska, Outrider of Ruin.

I thought of this, while seeing people loot the mount while fighting Iska. Funny thing I noticed aswell, is that Rhuv only has this mount on his loottable. If there is nothing to loot off of him, you didn't get it, but if he will 'sparkle', as in you have loot waiting, this will give you a 'heads up' you are about to loot Iska's Mawrat Leash.

I killed it 9 times with 9 different characters, and it dropped on my 9th attempt. Meanwhile I usually saw 2-4 mounts per 20-30 man group, so I would assume it's around 3-5% drop chance. Here's a screenshot of me looting the mount while still fighting Iska.

Loot Rhuv's corpse as soon as it dies!

After killing Rhuv, the corpse sparkled, but I couldn't loot until Iska was also dead. By that time, Rhuv's corpse already despawned and nothing showed up in the mail. I put in a ticket and they said they're unable to confirm open world loot tables and nothing could be done. So make sure to loot Rhuv as soon as it dies.

I just got this mount last night. I only put in about 10 kills or so (all on different characters). In raid groups of 30 or so, I noticed anywhere from zero to four would drop, so I don't think it's a 1% chance. I'm guessing somewhere between 3-5%. Good luck!

By the time your group-finder invitation request is accepted Rhuv is already dead, so I feel that our chances are quite slim.

Seems like you can kill iska multiple times a day for the mount. Got it on my second kill of the day on same character.

If you tag Iska but don't make it in time for Rhuv, you can try again on the same day to get Rhuv. Once you do tag Rhuv, as others have said, the drop rate is not too bad, 3-8%. Iska and Rhuv have separate daily loot lockouts.

Got this on my first attempt according to addon but I'm pretty sure I've killed it a few times before with no mount. Am I trippin or is it actually 100%?

Can confirm this dropped from Rhuv, before killing Iska. I saw sparkles as I was dpsing Iska, and looted mid fight.

Took me about 10 attempts.

I joined a rare-farming group in Zerith Mortis today and never saw any of the Dune Dominance rares spawn in a couple hours. I came here and saw a comment to just search group finder for "Iska". As soon as I tried it, there was a group but they declined me (I think they were probably done). I came back later and flew around mining and herbing for about 30 minutes when another Iska group popped. I didn't get the mount, but this seems like it might be a better method of waiting out the rare than just sitting near it.

This mount is driving me INSANE! 19 attempts so far on Iska-Rhuv, so i'm going to assume the drop is not that high (37,18%) or maybe im really having bad luck. If Rhuv corpse is sparkling the mount is yours! Guinzaglio per Rattofauce di Iska

Fun fact: I feel like i'm camping a harder Time-Lost Proto-Drake (you need to pray to Iska-Rhuv spawn instead of the other 2 rares) at least TL is a guaranteed drop

EDIT: I finally dropped! After almost 30 TRYS! Can confirm that I looted the mount from Rhuv (Iska was alive, and Rhuv was sparkling with something to loot, which was the mount)

What baffles me is that there is an image of the mount flying when the rare spawns... but no one clarifies that it does or doesn't> my guess it does not?

I believe the drop rate appearing so high in the database is just an accidental result of the loot being binary. (Did or didn't the mount drop).
I hit 35 attempts today, still no mount.
Unless there's a hidden prereq I'm unaware of?
I added my own rarity custom counter to Iska, even though the mount drops off Rhuv, just to track my number of attempts. (Since I always loot Iska as well)

I'm so smad that I missed out on farming this back in Shadowlands. In the past few days I spend many hours every day killing ZM rares over and over to try to make Iska (or any of the three rares) spawn with almost zero success. I have no idea how will I get this mount at this point. If the spawn is tied to killing rares - and it does seem to be the case - you need to kill surely over a hundred of them.

Today I've received my Guinzaglio per Rattofauce di Iska, after i got the following (german) emote for the first time:

"Rhuv, Verschlinger des Ruins, gibt einen durchdringenden, schrillen Schrei ab."

The emote showed up when Rhuv became attackable.
I think that you'll receive the mount, if you can read this sentence.

So to recap, killing rares in Zereth Mortis has a small chance (about 1% based on my data) of triggering one of the three Dune Dominance rares to spawn, then there is a one-in-three chance for Iska to be the one spawning, and then you have a frustratingly small chance (somewhere below 5%) of receiving the mount from the kill. That's no less than three layers of RNG for you, in case the regular rare farms weren't awful enough, and the reward is the fifth recolor of an ugly rat that - almost as if to mock you - drops from a beautiful, gorgeous drake you can never get.

So the chance of getting it when you kill any given rare in the zone is:

1% (chance of Dune Dominance rare spawn) * 33.33% (chance of Iska spawn given a Dune Dominance rare spawn) * 5% (chance of mount drop given Iska spawn) = 0.01 * 0.3333 * 0.05 = 0.00016665 or 0.0167%, or about 1 in 6000.

If the drop chance is even lower, say 1%, getting the mount drop from Iska would be approximately 0.00333%, or about 1 in 30,000 Zereth Mortis rare kills.

This means sometimes you will fly around killing rares for hours with none of them spawning. Sometimes you will manage to spawn the wrong rare, then you'll go on to spend many more hours farming rares, only to succeed in spawning the wrong rare yet again! There seems to be no set rotation of the dune rares in my experience, as I managed to get Damaris > Marzan > Damaris > Marzan spawn today. In another day I saw Damaris spawn twice consecutively, with 5 hours and hundreds of rares killed in between the two spawns. Both times I have remained logged in and in the zone so I haven't missed anything in between.

It is by far the worst rare mount drop Blizzard ever implemented. As it is right now, it is a straight-up sadistic design. Whoever came up with the idea clearly haven't considered the consequences of their decision beyond the current season in which the zone had hundreds of players actively killing rares. Now it's near impossible to get the mount, unless you farm it as a full-time job.

I doubt it will ever happen, but Blizz needs to put those dune rares on a set spawn timer. I don't know what, but SOMETHING to make obtaining this mount easier. At least the rares are easy to kill now.

got this one on my first attempt randomly saw the spawn while doing daily quest in ZM

they do have a 2-8 hour spawn time and one of the 3 rares spawn are random

Hoping for some wowhead luck, currently have 43 kills with no drop.

Honestly think this might be worst mount farm in the game, having to spend an age killing all the rares and hoping for a spawn and then hoping for the correct spawn is painful. Would honestly prefer they lower the drop % and just have it on a fixed spawn like Famu or Harvester.
