the big question is will this continue to work in future content or be limited to only working this expansion? very unlikely to be worth 40k gold if it's only for a year or so

Cannot believe this is not account wide. So need to farm exalted on each alt. Blizzard you really don't get it. At least make reputation account wide.

Going by the last time I checked the AH, I could buy around 700 regular runes for the price of this, which, at an hour per rune, is probably pushing a year's worth of play time for me. Add to that that most of my runes come from the mission table for basically free, I just can't justify the price of this thing. I don't see the convenience alone being worth 40k. Am I missing anything?

One main benefit of this over the Veiled version is that since both don't persist through death, this has only a 1 min CD. I factored that into buying this. It just means you have to remember to use it after each res.

I looked into this on the Dragonflight Beta and it can only be used up to level 69 and it only provides a +15 jump in stats (versus +18 on live). Strangely enough, the Veiled Augment Runes are still usable at level 70.

Can't believe Blizzard silently made it "Requires level 69 or below" with no headsup. So much time wasted getting exalted on many alts, so much money wasted. Thank you, Blizzard for this absolutely idiotic system where you can't tell if an item is going to be useful in the next few levels or not.

With such an amazing expansion, the excitement of hitting 70 was quickly replaced with a feeling of dejection when I found out the ETERNAL Augment Rune only lasted me 3 days of leveling. The loss of 40,000 gold plus the time I spent grinding rep for each character feels horrible. /sigh

Blizzard should of let us keep using it at level 70. But NOOOOO! Having 18+ anything is just too much!

Even if it can't be used at level 70 the buff stays if you actually use it, getting level synced by a party member at level 69 or entering the mage tower challenge, using the augment rune and zoning out is actually working, it's not really convenient but it can save at least 1 augment rune per raid night to do that before getting summoned. Still a shame it can't be used freely without having to do that tho
Edit: Also works in a timewalking dungeon
