Yes, there are some debuffs, the worst of which is the fire. However, the time saved when teleporting from one continent to the other is well worth it! For what it's worth, I popped a healing potion when the fire hit me, and was fine.

I have always wondered this: Goblin engineers make the transporter to Everlook, and the gnomish engineers make the portal to Gadgetzan. Wouldn't it be the other way around, as Gadgetzan is pretty much THE city for goblins on Kalimdor, and Everlook is (more or less) a gnomish city?

Is this still available? When I talk to Zap, he just gives me some flavor text and that is it, no chance to learn anything. My engineering is at 450 and I am a goblin engineer. Anyone else able to do this, or know of any pre-quests you have to do to make it available?

NOTE: If you were bored and stupid like me and farmed Bloodsail Admiral, you will be hated with all the Steamwheedle Cartel factions (Booty Bay, Ratchet, Everlook, Gadgetzan)
If you use this item, you will get ganked by 300 very annoying green goblins, whilst burning to death, as the fire debuff is the ONLY debuff that can happen.

This item and Squarciatore Dimensionale: Area 52, Teletrasporto Ultrasicuro: Meccania, and Teletrasporto Ultrasicuro: Stazione di Toshley are reported to be included in the Toy Box feature coming out with Warlords of Draenor and will no longer take up an inventory slot in your bags. I am sure many engineers and vanity item collectors will be excited about this!

If this malfunctions and causes burning damage, the burning damage was not scaled down with WoD expansion. you will need to heal quickly or you will die.

I personnaly think that there are too many engineering devices for teleportation, uses too much bag space. I think they need to make a Goblin Transport Device MK I that combines all the teleportation devices for Goblin Engineers into one device and a Gnomish Transport Device MK I that combines all the teleportation devices for Gnomish Engineering into one.

The device can be upgraded each expansion to account for the new zones MK II, MK III, etc. at max Engineering skill for that expansion.

Patch 6.1, the icon for Goblin Engineer's Dimensional Ripper - Everlook has been changed.
However, "Dimensional Ripper - Area 52" still seems to have the old icon.

The recent icon change for this item raises a few strange points:

- It took 10.5 years for Blizzard to change the icon for this Classic World of Warcraft goblin engineering item, just over 8 years if you count The Burning Crusade's Area 52 item copying this items original icon.

- This item actually was the first item to have its respective original icon, it was the Dimensional Ripper - Area 52 engineering item in The Burning Crusade that copied the original icon, yet that was able to retain its look instead of this original.

- What dev actually thought this was worth going into over perhaps working on new content for Warlords of Draenor? Can you imagine the conversation going on in a weekly meeting?

Sometime in 2014...

Lead Dev: "Hey guys, that brings us to the "what's next" portion of our meeting, anyone have any suggestions for the future of this game, ie patch 6.1? What kind of new content should we provide our subscribers?"

Dev 1: "Uh yeah, hey, we should REALLY change the teleporter icon for the Goblin Engineering Everlook teleporter."

Lead Dev: "OKAY Gus, fine, just change it already, you've only been asking for 10 years."

Dev 1: "Oh my goodness, I am totally taking a selfie of this moment."

LEGION TELEPORTER TOYS

All Engineering Teleporters are Bind On Use. While their schematics are fairly easy to get, you can also have another Engineer craft them, or they can be purchased on the Auction House if someone happens to be listing them.
A few more notes:

You DO NOT need to be an Engineer to learn the profession Toys and add them to your collection! You need to have Engineering of the appropriate skill (and Goblin or Gnomish specialization, if applicable) to USE the item from your Toy box.
The above is useful to know if you are gunning for achievements like Ricorda di condividere (which rewards the mount Estrattore di Legna Meccanizzato), as you do not need to be able to use the Toy for it to count for such achievements.
Many of these profession Toys are "hidden" in your Toybox until you learn them - you will not see them, even if filtered for Toys you have not collected. This may throw you off if you are using the Toybox as a guide for what Toys you have not obtained.

Figlia del Locandiere	Archaeology project. Created on completion of Figlia del Locandiere, a Rare Dwarf Artifact which requires 150 fragments, and has 3 keystone slots for Pietra Runica dei Nani. Replaces your hearthstone (shares a cooldown). When used, a ghost of The Innkeeper's Daughter will sometimes randomly appear.
Le Scuole della Magia Arcana - Maestria	Achievement Reward. Granted on completion of the achievement Conoscenza superiore, which requires you to read several rare spawn books that appear in Dalaran on 3-4 hour spawn timers. Teleports you to a tower in Dalaran, where you speak to Archmage Vargoth to to obtain the Battle pet Famiglio del Kirin Tor. If you have deleted this item, you an obtain another by speaking to Rhonin in Dalaran.
Portale Oscuro	TCG item. Effectively replaces your hearthstone (shares a cooldown, so no point keeping both!) but uses a neat visual effect while casting (summons a miniature version of the Dark Portal).
Portale Etereo	TCG item. Effectively replaces your hearthstone (shares a cooldown, so no point keeping both!) but uses a neat visual effect while casting (summons a miniature Ethereal Portal).

As this has now become a toy as of the 7.0 prepatch for Legion, one thing to note:

Even if you are not a Goblin Engineer (read: you're a Gnome engineer or otherwise have no spec picked), as long as you know someone who can make you this, you can still add it to your toy box if you have the proper engineering skill to use it! It's also possible that this can be done even as a non-engineer (although you will be unable to actually use the item without the proper requirements in either case, as it will still be reddened out), so don't feel like you have to jump specs to get this!

To buy the mats from the auction house and craft yourself using Engineering, you need the following:

14x Mithril Bar
2x Truesilver Bar
2x Elemental Earth
1x Elemental Air
4x Heart of Fire
2x Star Ruby
8x Solid Stone

1x Mageweave Cloth

If you are an alchemist (210+ vanilla skill) you can buy the following to make the recipe and the mats for Goblin Rocket Fuel:
1x Light Parchment (buy from a Yak or Mammoth mount)
1x Engineer's Ink (from AH or many NPC vendors)
1x Firebloom
1x Volatile Rum
1x Crystal Vial

If you are not an alchemist, you'll need to buy Goblin Rocket Fuel from the AH, or acquire from an Alchemist.

(You will have a few leftover mats from producing multiples of some components, but not an egregious amount)
