Found in Schema di Protoforma at /way #1970 57.8 77.8, inside the library cave in Lexical Grotto, at the back of some shelving (this used to be under the very top shelf and visible from below, but has moved to the bottom of a middle shelf and can't be seen from below anymore). You will need to have Sintesi di Protoforma (Mascotte da Combattimento) unlocked to see and obtain it.

I'm not sure what the intended way would be to get up there~~, but there is a lot invisible blocking walls preventing many plausible teleport and jumping paths~~. I ended up using Traslatori Dimensionali from Calzari Foderati Enigmatici to jump to just above it by aiming near the top of its self (for the original location I went to top of the left side of the shelves from behind), then angled to see and click on the object.

After get the item you'll receive the quest Riassimilazione dello Schema: Guscy.

Schema: Guscy is a protoform synthesis battle pet.
To unlock protoform crafting research Comprensione del Sopraniano and complete Sintesi di Protoforma quest.

Schematic can be found inside the Lexical Grotto cave. Entrance coordinates are 59.01 81.82.
Enter the cave and go to the left part of grotto. In the end (north on minimap) you will see a tall shelf consists of two sections.
Go behind that shelf and look up. The right section contains two large hexagons placed on each other. There is a schematic in the higher hexagon.
You can use Porta delle Ombre or specific gear abilities such like Traslatori Dimensionali (random drop from ZM activities).

After bringing the schematic to Protoform Repository you will learn how to create Guscy battle pet.

To get Guscy you need to find Schema: Guscy in Zereth Mortis and bring it to the Synthesis Forge*, then collect reagents for the craft

I knew the schematic was there and it still took me 10 minutes to find it. You have to go around to the back side of the shelving unit and it is sitting on a small ledge about halfway up. I was able to put my pointer on it from below but just barely. In the screenshot I uploaded it's on top the bottom edge of the back side of the hexagonal shelf that's jutting out slightly from the one below it - roughly the center of the picture. I believe it's been moved since PTR which is why some screenshots show it in other places.

I jumped on top of the shelves (Warrior), walked backwards over the back edge, then immediately activated my glider and glided into the back of the shelves where I (luckily?) came to land on a ledge next to the item.

Well here's something I found out, on my hunter: Disimpegno actually works to climb the front side of the shelves (Yeah, you read that right, the front side is climbable). Just put your back to it, while obviously being close to it, and keep jumping and using it, and once halfway up (you don't need to get on top, to use gliders or slow falls in the back), just face the shelf, and carefully walk left towards the edge.
There, try turning your camera (or the character) around, in a way that you could click the scroll.

I'm submitting a Screenshot of my hunter in the position to click it.

Edit: You actually don't need to be a Venthyr or warlock, as the zone already even gives you cypher equipment that helps ANY class to climb things. Warriors, Warlocks, hunters, venthyr and any other way of climbing might be usable on the front side of the bookshelf.

Edit 2: As wimbly have stated, jumping+hitting forward might be enough (no need for the special equipment either), The front side is climbable for that reason I guess.

I tried climbing the front, didn't have much success (kept falling through...)

Using an item with Traslatori Dimensionali on it though, I climbed the little triangular stairs just behind the bookcase (ends on a hexagonal platform with a signpost), and then angled camera up to see the back of the shelf (where the recipe is).
I then just targetted roughly a little higher than where the recipe sat, and clicked... and boom, was taken right to it. No glider or disengage (I am an hunter though so that was an option to try) or venthyr needed.

Aim your displacement ability on to the shelf just above the schematic. It's much easier than the screenshot from the guide.

If you're a stubborn hunter and don't want to go Venthyr, it's possible to Disengage high enough onto the front of the shelf to click on it. However, you cannot see the schematic while on the front. The solution to that is simple, however: Eyes of the Beast.

Another alternative if you are not Venthyr or warlock, you can use Traslatori Dimensionali from Cypher Equipment foot gear (Ex. Calzari Foderati Enigmatici Dimensionali) and land just in the edge of the hexagonal shape shelve. You will land in a "plain" superfice, near enough to take the Schema di Protoforma

As an engineering Hunter I used Gnomish Gravity Well to bounce up slightly above the level of the Schematic and then (with my back towards the shelf) used disengage to to launch myself into/onto the shelf to be able to loot the schematic.

as a night fae warlock, I was able to get this schematic placing the gateway starting on the small diamond-shaped corner piece, aiming for the center where all the venthyr aim. the destination portal is showing on the ground, but I am landing correctly. (see screenshot)

I don't know if anyone has said it yet, but I was able to open the schematic from the front of the shelf as well :) Just had to move my mouse around til it gave me the gear icon and it was good. I know a lot of people are saying to go up from the back but as an outlaw rogue, I just grappled to that shelf as not much is on it and yeah :D Good luck !

Used Gnomish gravity well to get up. Like blizzard WTF. So inconsistent. Gnomish gravity well worked in the maw and SL on launch, doesn't now. BUT it does work in ZM for now? Have some consistency blizzard. Some dungeons it works, some it doesn't. It's fine for this but not fine for that. I spent like 30 minutes trying to get this thing because I assumed this didn't work, like it didn't in other shadowlands content. Probably overlooked and wasn't supposed to work here either.

For Warriors; Heroic Leap does work. You just have to place yourself close to the wall behind the shelves, adjust your camera angle so you have a view on the schematic and then just spamclick your Heroic Leap onto the ledge. Possibly you'll have to do this a few times. I fell down again the first time, but stuck to the shelf the second time so I could grab the schematic. Don't get disheartened if you get the "No path available" error a bunch of times, just keep trying and continuously adjust your cursor by small margins in the process.

I just jump + forward (you jump and only then press forward) twice in front of the shelves, then moved a bit to adjust camera angle so I can click it and grab it through shelves. Without using anything.

you can use Borr-Geth's Fiery Brimstone and a goblin glider to reach it just stand back from shelf of you wont get high enough

If you target your venth port half way up the hexagon the schematic is on there is an invisable platform which you can land on. Basically you will just float in mid air but you can loot no issue. I used the pattern of the hexagon to judge the midway point.

Warlock tip:

I jumped up on the outside a few times but couldn't get any higher. I also couldn't swing the camera around to see the object. What finally worked was casting Eye of Kilrogg while still clinging to the side of the bookshelf. The eye wound up on the ground but I could go around to the back side with it and could click on the schematic.

I was able to get to the top of the bookshelf by standing behind it on one of those little platforms on the right side, and using the cypher equipment ability -Enchant treads, which allowed me to jump up. Took a few tries but I jumped to the middle of the back of that bookshelf and was able to reach it.

NEW TIP FOR WARLOCK: 8/27/2022

If you look at the bookcase from the front, you'll notice a big tablet leaning against it. This tablet is on the right side (front). You can jump on top of this tablet from a small ledge next to it.

I made a portal from the top of one shelf to the very outer edge of the hex below the schematic. You can see it protruding.

If you are struggling, just look at how the edges come out on the outer-edge of the hexagonal shelves. Attack that.

I did this as a Night Elf, but I was able to just jump up the front of the shelf. There seems to be some collision that allowed me to climb it essentially. No toys or abilities needed. Then i carefully rotated my camera and grabbed it!

Edit: for those doing this in Dragonflight 10.1.....go to the quartermaster (Vilo) in Haven (the main sanctuary hub in ZM) and buy a pair of equippable gloves with the "dimensional translator" feature. They cost 156g or something and allow you to just portal up. Every video here uses either Door of Shadows or some weird camera stuff, it's not helpful. You're here for the snail pet for 10.1....just go to the hub, buy the gloves, go behind the spot highlighted in comments/videos here, and portal up.

If you're coming to this in Dragonflight or after, just jump to the front of the hex that the scroll is behind, and just use the new interact key. Will auto pick it up through the wall don't even need to see it.

This schematic appears to have a respawn timer of some sort after a player loots it, as it was not present with war mode off on two different characters I took there who have unlocked Protoform Synthesis. A few others at the site also could not see the object. I returned with war mode enabled and the object was there with the zone mostly empty of players.

I don't know what is going on but this schematic keeps spawning and then despawning randomly. Not to mention the frustration of trying to use Door of Shadows and having to wait 1 minute between uses only to fall and have to start over. If you're also having this issue, you are not alone. I've decided I don't care enough and just stopped out of frustration.

This was just the worst. I did it as a warlock by putting up a gateway at this location on the front side of the shelves. The demonic circle is where I placed the other end. It's inside the shelf and not visible, but I can still teleport there.

Once on the shelf, I turned my camera around slowly until I found the cogwheel for the schematic.

(For Door of Shadows) On the off chance anyone's still looking for this, I spent far too long falling down the shelf before I found a better spot to aim. On the back side of the shelf, aim your port two "rows" up, right between the two halves. There was enough space for my nelf to "land" in the space between the jutting portions of the shapes, easy to stand and grab the schematic.

I came across this nuisance (annoyance, really) and I discovered that you don't need any extra stuff to get this thing.
