A mostly useless item as all eggs polymorph you into a rabbit and "silence" you.

You can only alleviate this by right-clicking off the Coniglio di Nobiluova buff between each egg, thus negating the whole point of the item's Speed Increase.

So Blizzard adds this new toy version of the item (great, no problem)...

Is only available to use during noblegarden event, and in egg hunting areas (makes sense, no issues)...

While egg hunting, you get turned into a pink bunny sometimes (cute, and thematic)...
which also silences you, making you unable to use this item without removing the bunny shapeshift...

/facepalm -.-

For something that you almost certainly don't do for very long... is it really that big of a deal to just let this one through (like you could while with the older item...)
IMHO, egg hunting as a bunny is a big part of the fun! taking away the speed increase just feels like a seriously pointless "NO, you're having too much fun, not allowed!"... especially when it was perfectly allowed beforehand

I'm assuming it's probably just an oversight on their part... but should be changed for next time!

Update 2024:
seems it it STILL not changed... the toy version is unable to be used while in bunny form...
BUT... oddly, the quest item version that you equip is still usable while bunnied... so... why is this not allowed too? makes no sense...
In the meantime til this is changed... I'm just going to use the quest item version to do my annual hop-alongs :P

Cestino per Uova Prestato is the one you get while you are on Che hai nel tuo cestino, caro dolce zuccherino?. Upon completion you lose it, and get the
Cestino per Uova which formerly had the same speed boost, but now is cosmetic, as well as
this Eagger Basket toy, which now has the speed boost.

Its intersting that note that, like some. When I went to pick up the quest. This was already flagged as having it already despite it being the first time this year starting on it.
Not sure if its a bug or was it something I had already that was changed.

I had the same idea as Nagratz with some tweaks:

#showtooltip Noblegarden Chocolate
/cancelaura Noblegarden Bunny
/cast Eagger Basket
/use Brightly Colored Egg

Puts the chocolate count on the button, cancels the silence, gives you the speed boost and opens your eggs for you.
I have this bound to middle click and just zoom around :D

This seems to share a hidden cooldown with rogues' Scatto. Do not use Sprint while egg hunting so that you can use Eagger Basket continuously!
