So I really wanted this for a transmog on my Bastion character. Buying it on a dagger-using Venthyr alt didn't unlock it for the Bastion character. Seeing how she's on 80 renown already, I bought a couple of the anima transfer tokens, switched to Venthyr, turned the tokens in through Zereth Mortis (fastest way), bought and transmogged the daggers, then switched back to Bastion. I simply accepted that I will have to switch covenants every time I want to transmog them again. However, I can still transmog the daggers despite being with Bastion again. I don't know if it's influenced by the fact that I still have the dagger in my bags, or an 80 renown Venthyr alt, but I still have it and can still equip it. So yeah, if you have 80 renown with your main covenant that you want to keep, you can do a temporary switch just to get the mog.
