Not so much a confirmation of drop but rather confirmation of non-drop - Farmed Gorged Shadehound for roughly 4 hours in a raid group. Out of thousands of loot instances, saw plenty of other quest drops, but this did not drop a single time from neither the Gorged Shadehound or the various Shadehounds in the area - Obedient Shadehound and Ravenous Shadehound.

Only one missing for the achievement for me, would love to know where it's from since no sources are listed here.

Edit: No reason to downvote for this, I just commented to confirm that every other one is obtainable and so far haven't seen anyone get this one.

i checked the whole zone twice now for this item and did some grind on the shadehounds and still nothing.

the fact that no one else has found this item brings me to the thought of it beeing not obtainable right now. There is still 1 zone in the Maw that we are not allowed to enter (but we can trick into that zone). And that zone is called Desmotaeron (as seen here in red: https://ibb.co/7v1Xp75)

u can trick into the zone if u use a Kit dell'Aliante dei Goblin at the orange marked gate and run north after u are in there. The big problem is the debuff u get inside desmotaeron called Brivido Tombale, which hits für around 5k every 2 seconds and is not immunable. I could not get far in there and no healer wanted to try it sacrificing their stygia.

Update: The item is not in that zone; confirmed by Hippocat

From the hotfix patch notes for Jan 25

"Fixed an issue that prevented Shadehound Armor Plating from being acquired in the Maw. The quest item can now be found by completing the Hunt: Shadehounds event."

Was about to say lol confirmed drops from the shadehound event boss. The one that drops the mount if you are not sure.

Gorged Shadehound dropped the plating for me during the shadehound hunt in the lower part of the maw.
