Is the required level of the lockbox determined by the level of the character who loots it? Because when I sent one to my level 50 blacksmith with a skeleton key, I realized it requires level 54.

To open it with lockpicking skill,you need to get your character to level 60,not to level 50.

I was sent an Oxxein Lockbox in the mail just prior to patch 9.1.0. I returned it to the sender after the patch went live without retrieving it from the mail because my rogue alt's lockpicking skill wasn't high enough. This led to the sender asking me why I'd given them a Scrigno di Peccavyr instead of what they'd mailed me. Color us both confused...

Checked the Oxxein Lockboxes in my rogue's bank to see if the patch had done anything to those, but they were unaffected. So still just as confused.

Pickpocket rates are beyond ridiculous. Took me 897 ties to get a single one. I'd recommend farming around /way 41, 68.
Tthere are multiple humanoid standing still. I remember saving those lockboxes in 3 guild bank tabs before leveling my rogue and opening them all. sigh.

Got one off the elites around 35,75 and another @ 41,61(endless mobs if you can get a shard where people are group farming--pickpocketable even if you dont have a tag)

For those confused about how Scrigno di Peccavyr was renamed with 9.1 release (used to be Oxxien):

Scrigno di Oxeina is exclusive to Maldraxxus, while Scrigno di Peccavyr (once also named Oxxein Lockbox, pre-9.1) is exclusive to Revendreth. These different items had the same name prior.

Prior to 9.1, if you had a Oxxein Lockbox, it wasn't clear if it was from Maldraxxus or Revendreth. With the Revendreth one renamed, now it's clear.

So, in summary:

Scrigno di Oxeina is from Maldraxxus
Scrigno di Peccavyr is from Revendreth (this is the one that was once called Oxxein Lockbox)

I run streets on normal using LFD on a fresh 60 and run around pickpocketing trash. This was the last box I needed but dropped from adds near Nerissa Senzacuore

A relatively good pickpocket farm for the lockboxes is the Tazavesh, il Bazar Celato dungeon's 1st boss room.

You need to kill the Custode dei Cancelli Zo'mazz miniboss to open the door. (I've done it with 2 different rogue, 240 and 260 ilvl in Dragonflight pre-patch multiple times as outlaw)

Don't forget to picpkocket the gatekeeper pack too.
Tramortimento the left one, Accecamento the right one and nuke the miniboss:
- use Fiala Cremisi after the first Assalto per Procura
- use Manto d'Ombra before the Impulso Radiante cast finishes
- use Evasione before the 2nd Assalto per Procura
2 out of 10 times my Inganno alla Morte talent procced, so pick that talent. (You no need to fight more than that fight, so you can swap your talent around the situation.)

use Sparizione or run out of the dungeon after the miniboss is dead (you can kite him backwards to the entrance, but my worst kill time was 50 seconds - if you die near the entrance, release instantly and you can catch the boss with low health)

Another useful talent is the movement speed in stealth (Calcaombra), so you'll get 160% move speed in the whole farm. Here is my talent build that i used during the farm: talent build

After that you can wait ~6 mins to able to pickpocket them again, or you can reset the instance and do it again (beware, the limit is 10 lockouts per hour). Would be better if you could kill the boss too, but it's not possible with low geared rogue - ask a friend maybe -, so you could run around the instance and pickpocket everything without waiting time.

The loot summary from 12 round of pickpocketing (average 1-2 boxes / round):

Couple Shadowlands herbs and ores, a lots of Borsa di Sicurezza. The pickpocket table for this mob is kinda covers all the possibilities.
