This item seems to be a reference to the similarly named Gysahl Greens from the Final Fantasy series, which are used to primarily tame and ride Chocobos, the big yellow birds that serve as a form of transportation in the series.

These herbs seem to grow primarily near bodies of water and some rivers in Uldum.

as of patch release the interactive plant is called "Gersahi Shrub" and looting it (no herbalism requred) gives you the "Gersahi Greens"

Looted the first one at 58:57 near a big group of bushes, right next to a Whiptail. For those w/o coords it's near the Akhenet Fields area, along the river.

Hey everyone! Okay so these little buggers are a bit difficult to spot at first. I highly recommend turning both environmental detail and ground clutter down to 1. This makes life a lot easier, and it helps them stand out a bit more. You do have to keep your eyes peeled, though. They're just slightly different greens than the surrounding areas. Search the main big river in Uldum, as well as the little small land patches at the end going out to the sea. I've found 3-5 in doing one round there. They are BoP, just to keep in mind. You need these if you want to feed an alpaca for the quest {Alpaca It In}. :)

Item required for daily Quest Io sono Alpaca from Alpaca Amichevole, which rewards Redini dell'Alpaca Primopelo.
Herb can be picked up without herbalism and spawn along the river in Uldum. You only need 7 of these.
To see them, You need to be in "present day" Uldum.

Your best bet for getting your bunch of these is to have herbalism or a friend/family member with herbalism. It took me maybe 10-15 minutes to get six of these riding around on my mom's herbalist. Failing that, look primarily on the shoreline near the river. You can see other comments for spawn locations if you lack an herbalist. You do NOT need to have the N'zoth invasions unlocked to see the herb or even each other (odds are, as long as you stay out of the invasion area)

A few tips that I haven't seen mentioned yet:
The plants are actually deceptively small, and will sometimes hide in the ground clutter that doesn't disappear when you turn your ground clutter to 1. They mostly spawn right next to the river (and that's across the *entire* zone, north to south), where the river and riverbed intersect.

For those of you who don't use cords(like me) the best place I found these is in the SOUTHERN part of the river near the "Lost City of The Tol'vir". These plants are very small so if you don't have herbalism they can be hard to spot. Turning down environmental details and ground clutter does help as others mention and I've noticed these spawn near trees or in other bushes along the river. They might spawn away from other plants, but all the ones I found were either near a tree or in/next to a bush by the river.

A lot of really great points, but the number one thing I wanted to point out is that these suckers are A LOT smaller than I expected. When you hover over them you get the same pointer as if you were an herbalist - I was originally looking for a cogwheel. They are a slightly more bluish green than the surrounding plants so it does catch your eye a little, but turning down ground clutter and environment detail helped A LOT.

It takes 7 of these to fulfill the requirements for the mount (to feed him 7 separate times), so you can load up on them and keep them in your bag until you find him each day. I used group finder to find him and it was much quicker than waiting for the shard I was on to spawn.

These are looted from Arbusto di Gersahl (view object's page for full map of locations).

You can carry more than one at a time (they stack) and do not have an expiration. With the below list of waypoints, I was easily able to gather all of the greens within 5 minutes in the southern area of the map. The additional greens will remain in your bag after completing Io sono Alpaca.

Some people have found it helpful to turn their environment detail and ground clutter settings down. I had both mine at 5 and didn't have a problem finding these.

Suprised noone mentioned this explicitly: You don't need to be on Io sono Alpaca to gather Insalata di Gersahl, so prepare yourself for when the Alpaca Amichevole spawns (or is reported).

I found few of them south of the Lost City of the Tol'vir. Reducing graphic settings helps a lot to see them better between the green shrubs.

I decided to take a screenshot of the Gersahl Greens, so I cleared my screen (Alt+z) and all of the sudden, it started sparkling! It made the last few a breeze to be found!

I picked up the required amount of herbs to complete the mount quest daily and turned in the first helping.
Went looking the next day and haven't found the quest mob yet but noticed all my herbs have vanished from my bags/bank/etc.

@Apoletta I was surprised just how well this worked. Also didn't get any sparkles so I didn't do that. Slammed Ground Clutter down to 1, went high enough until the shrubs that were left vanished. Check that you're flying level, and zoom in your camera to first-person so your mount isn't in the way. What you're looking for is a neon green dot. Not sure you're looking at one? Just mouse over it.

I'm surprised this isn't mentioned anywhere in the comments but if you completed the 7 daily quests and obtained the mount there is no further use for those herbs so I assume it's safe to delete any greens left over if you gathered more than needed for the quests.
And in case I'm wrong it's pretty easy to gather new ones so it doesn't matter either way.

I found it extremely easy with environment clutter and detail at 1, and flying above, so that "normal" bushes etc are out of render distance. Then just moving along the coastline, stopping periodically and scanning the ground. Very easy for me to spot this way. Hope this helps!

As I started the Alpaca quest i thought I'd get all 7 leaves immediately, so that I colud see how many dailies I had tro turn in before getting the mount.
The spot I found to be the best was approximately south of the map, on the little isles where the "Lost city of the Tol'Vir" writing is. The respawn is quite fast, and don't forget to look on the sides close to the "sea", those are the best spots! Got myself 5 leaves getting approx. 1 per minute over there.

Are the Gersahl Greens still able to be collected? I'm a level 85 death knight without herbalism and I've spent ~3 hours across two different times going up and down the river. I've turned down my detail too and I can't find any spawns though I do see the Whiptail all the time. I even installed GatherMate2, but Gersahl Greens aren't even listed in the herbs to track. I've checked YouTube videos with spawn locations and the spawn locations here too. I'm on patch 8.3.7.35662.

Any help would be appreciated!

I found all of mine at the very north end and very south end of the river. I'm guessing because most people probably don't travel that far but it took me literally 10 mins. Good luck all!

Enviromental details and ground clutter set to 0.
Fly arround green patches in Uldum and look at the waters edge.
Found my 7 in about 5 mins.

Did it at 8:20 in the morning.

Characters have to do some BfA content to see the shrubs. Then it's just about no ground clutter and flying above the ground near water. Turqoise (Blue - green ) is what you should look out for

To assist you all with obtaining the Redini dell'Alpaca Primopelo, I made a useful AddOn over at Curse.

It will save you manually entering a list of coordinates. When you are done, just delete the AddOn!

It has some extra stuff like the indicative locations of the Insalata di Gersahl.

Have some of those greens handy, then go to it with the AddOn, never give up and good luck!

In case you were stuck like me and did not do the patch 8.4 content before: I had to complete the Visions of N'zoth introduction questline through the quest Accessing the Archives. After, I could see the shrubs in the areas people have previously mentioned.

IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE SO HARD! Forget the waypoints, and the addons. I followed all of that and still struggled.

JUST FOLLOW THE RIVER BEDS! They will be along the waters edge usually up next to some shrubs. They are a different kind of green, with pink or red little flowers. They can blend in so don't fly too high over. I stay mounted but ran along the waters edge, flew up if I needed to bypass adds.

Once I did this, I found all 7 in a matter of minutes.

IMPORTANT: You need to be in Uldum in the "present day" to see these. I searched for a long while with no luck before thinking to switch timelines, and once I did found one within *seconds*. Talk to Zidormi in Ramkahen to switch.
