Just saw the first one drop, guy from Burning Blade server.
So it could be patched, or drop rate has to be like 1/10000.

I have done with at least 25 toons today and have seen pretty much all groups with 10+ people.

I wish I had access to the Bee that Alliance can get from a quest, but this void-beastie bug will do for my Horde warlock. It does cute BzzzZ while flying, I like those sort of sounds. Got it today while soloing the elite, on EU realm. I think I killed one already the other day, while the area was under assault, so it was my second kill only.

Dropped for me at around 10pm last night on Dalaran-US. First kill, didn't even know it dropped a mount. There goes all of my RNG luck for the next few years.

For those curious, when the first Aqir assault began in NA, Corpse Eater's loot table was broken and it was not dropping the mount. About a day and a half later it was hotfixed and mounts finally started to show up. It seems to be a low droprate, possibly on par with Soundless, but that's why some early reports talk about the mount not dropping at all.

-You don't need any 8.3 quests to see/kill/loot Corpse Eater
-You don't need BfA intro completion
-You don't even need to be 120. I've seen 110 characters killing and looting him.
-Edit: You need to be at least level 110 to see the new version of Uldum as per a wowhead comment.
-Always check LFG for corpse eater groups, people are making them all the time
-If there's currently no group up, wait and/or click the corpses on the ground to force-spawn him.

Have killed this guy 118 times since he was fixed, with a conservative estimate of 15 people in the group each time, which gives a rough estimate of 1710 times I;ve seen him looted. I've seen 2 drops. This guy is very rare.

I have killed this rare in an average ~15 man group 25 times and have not even SEEN the mount drop for someone yet.

Gonna write this one off I think. Besides my personal experience, it looks like most people have similar findings.

Imho, this mount reskin has no business being so far under 1%, especially since there is nothing prestigious about it. If all these mounts are going to come off world rares now, I think the warfront zone drop chances are much better suited. ~5%.

EDIT - I am uncertain of the date it was changed, but Blizz increased the drop rate in a somewhat recent hotfix and it appears to be in line with the other 8.3 rares that drop mounts. I was also fortunate enough to get it after close to 100 attempts. Happy farming =).

Got this mount randomly yesterday, 2nd kill. Never even knew it dropped a mount. Very low drop rate also. Love the model!

Got this mount today, on my very first kill of Corpse Eater. That provably irks some of you, but I've had historically bad luck with drops for years. Something lucky was bound to happen eventually. Now if only I can get Ashes of Al'ar to drop before my 100th kill.

If you kill BFA rares for pets, toys and mounts across multiple toons and want a way to track that easily, I created a do-it-yourself edit for the fantastic SavedInstances addon that adds tracking for a bunch of them like Mangiatore di Cadaveri, Rustfeather, or Anh-De the Loyal among others. You can make these changes yourself with any text editor.

Add the following lines to the Quests.lua file in SavedInstances addon folder starting at approximately line 60 (in the "_specialQuests" array):

The folks who made the SavedInstances addon have a stated policy of not adding tons of individual rares to the addon, but in comments on their project site pointed out how you can do it. It's one of my top must-have addons, and I recommend if you're a collection farmer you get it.

Story time....

Got this mount today by complete accident. And I didn't even know the Corpse Eater drops a mount!

I was using N'lyeth, Scaglia di N'zoth to kill a fellow Alliance player (Alliance dominated server) and accidentally tagged the Corpse Eater.
When you are a N'zoth servant, all the mobs go yellow to you, they don't attack you at all. Actually very easy to WQ as a servant.

Finished killing the Alliance player and mounted up to have a look around for his backup. Looked down and saw the Corpse Eater sparkling, it had loot.
I almost flew away thinking it's just trash vendor stuff, but looted and there was the mount. First time ever killing it just to make you even more jelly!

And I like this mount. Looks good.

Got this today on a level 113 Demon Hunter. Took 213 attempts over 20 120s, then the first time I ever try it on the 113 it dropped.

Sometimes this game makes me want to pull my fingernails out.

I'm ready to accept the raining of down votes but I received this mount after 6 attempts on the same day with alts. Now my horde toons have their version of the bee mount 😊. Happy hunting everyone!

Returning after almost a year of hiatus, this dropped for me on the 1st try. Needless to say I'm kind of disappointed that something, with legs that would make for a funky running animation, does indeed simply just hover... But still, it's a flying bug mount alright.

I was only running 1 alt in bfa, and I kind've stopped playing pre-8.3. So I got 7 alts to the appropriate part in the quest to be able to farm this, and I was prepared for multiple weeks of farming. Got it on attempt no. 10 on day 2 of farming!

I got this mount last year and I cant believe how lucky I was, still this mount has only been obtained by just 1% which is unreal! Don't give up guys you can get this mount! its an awesome mount!

i can confirm it still drops.Just got this mount after 121 attempts.The good thing is that the respawn time is logical compared to other rares like 3-10 mins and occasionally up to 20 .Cant say about its drop rate if its better or the same since i wasnt after assault mounts back when bfa was current.Good luck to everyone who is still after it.
