This illusion is the 6th reward you get from the new Recruit A Friend rewards. You get the rewards based on how many months your recruited friends stay subscribed.

1 Month: Cappello da Esplorazione di Rikki
2 Months: 30 days gametime.
3 Months: Redini del Calcadune dell'Esploratore
4 Months: Certificato dell'Esploratore
5 Months: 30 days of gametime.
6 Months: Illusione: Sabbie Pungenti
7 Months: Insegna dell'Esploratore Famoso
8 Months: 30 days of gametime.
9 Months: Chiavi del Saltatore della Giungla dell'Esploratore
10 Months: Zaino dell'Esploratore Famoso
11 Months: 30 days of gametime.
12 Months: Set: Vesti dell'Esploratore Famoso

After these 12 months, you will get an additional 30 days of gametime for every 3 months your recruited friends stay subscribed.

To use: 1. Talk to a Transmogrifier. 2. Under your weapon is a small box, click on that box to bring up the different illusions.

This reward no longer shows up in transmog changer, and attempting to check out the image in game give a UI error. This is w/no addons loaded.

Huh. whole time I've been talking to Transmoger or just looking at them in the collection including ones I still need to get. sigh

What we're saying is. ITS NOT THERE. Fikltered to show collected and not collected when I go into weapon enchantment and still nowhere in the list.

For some reason, this is showing up as "already known" for me, even though this is my first time going through the new Recruit-A-Friend program. Does anyone know if it was possible to obtain this before the new RAF program? Or why I might already know this illusion?

The reward does not show up right away when claimed.
Relog your character.
Then visit a Transmogrifier, click on your enchantment box under your weapon and the Stinging Sands enchantment should now show.

This is honestly pretty disappointing as an illusion. It looks FAR better in the screenshots than in motion, where it just looks like a handful of dust particles are falling off and having a seizure. You might see some coloration on certain weapon blades, but otherwise it's barely a visible effect and what you do see is way too fast.
