Can confirm that it drops from the murlocs at 27 29 area. Was wearing benthic gloves with a "You are more likely to find strange resources related to Mardivas." enchant. Don't know if that was a case to drop it.

32 Strange Mineralized Waters, 16 Barnacled Lockbox', 613 Kills later, Mardivas' Bag of Containing did indeed drop from these beautiful murlocs. I had the Benthic gloves equipped with inscription "You are more likely to find strange resources related to Mardivas.".

I set the drop chance to 0.1233% (1 in 811) after looking at the averages here, but expect much better chances with the gloves equipped. Don't know how to get per-NPC granularity.

Edit: Got mine 586 kills after I equipped the gloves at Bloodfin and started tracking. Perhaps 200 kills before that.

I farmed it for 15 minutes with gloves equipped and got it. I was expecting to farm it for 2+ hours but taking really big packs of murlocs makes you gaining a lot of time.

Guess I killed about 200 murlocs or so in 15mn.

I'm up to 1500 kills (since i've been tracking) and no bag. You do get quite a bit of gold from farming this. The vendor trash is good money plus they drop quite a few greens and lockboxes.

edit: 2021 kills and nothing. I think I'm going to try out those gloves.

edit: dropped at 2221 kills. So 200 kills after I equipped the gloves.Coincidence? Who knows.

Contained 4 of the mardivas blue items, totally worth the effort....not.

I got this item after about 1k kills. War mode on. No special benthic gear equipped. No relevant world quest was up. Although one of the follower daily quests did seem to be up nearby when I finally got the bag drop, but I don't know which one and I doubt that matters. I just had max dmg gear on. Maximum dmg buffs. Aoe spray and pray and grind. Good luck!

Farmed over 4000 attempts from murlocs in Ashen Strand, about 2000 of those with the Benthic Gloves. Nothing. Learned that there are Benthic Wrists that has the effect of
'more likely to find items connected to Nazjatar's ecosystem' so I went and got those. Got the Mardivas Bag on my first pull of murlocs after that.
Coincidence or not, sharing my stats for future hunters!

2500+ kills and ~4 hours later it finally dropped. First 1400 or so kills i was wearing the gloves but gave up and took them off and it dropped a few hours later. Try not to farm it on Crab Collecting or Tadpole Shooing day like i did as there will be tons of traffic.

Currently at 4895 kills after hours of farming bloodfin murlocs and no drop with bracers equipped. This is brutal.

Rarity string really helped!

I had 1000 kills once I added the string without the gloves/bracers. And then an additional 992 kills with gloves/bracers before I finally got the bag to drop.

Mine dropped from a pack of murlocs that summoned with King Gakula, so not sure if it was off a random murloc or off the rare.

It doesn't hurt, so make sure you're using the bracers/gloves that have the equip of finding items related to the ecosystem or Mardivas respectively. For me that was Fathomstalker Bindings and Fathomstalker Grips (leather).

I've been farming Bloodfin Murlocs for quite a while now while wearing FathomStalker Grips and Fathomstalker Bindings.

I'm at 2000 documented attempts and a couple more undocumented. But let's stick with the documented attempts from now on. I'll be updating this post in this matter.

Found it after 8603 attempts.

It dropped from a Necrofin Deep Oracle in Darkwater Cavern without having wearing FathomStalker Grips or Fathomstalker Bindings.
I killed only 5 murlocs inside the caverns and the item dropped.

Today it dropped after about 70.000 kills. I wouldn't farm it north west at the murlocs in Ashen Strand, but in the Necrofin Cave in the south (darkwater cavern - next to Wekemara. We were farming it in a group of 5 players and it dropped for a mate two times at once (he already got it on a different toon). All in all we farmed about 3 hours and it dropped 4 times. Don't lose hope, guys!

Comments here suggest farming in the Cave over Strand. Yep, bugger the Murloc Pinnarossa. Finally got it today from the Murloc Necropinna. 15000 kills. Go to the cave. Multiboxed (manual) 3 characters with gloves and bracers on.

After HOURS of farming just over 5,000 murlocs in bloodfin with gloves equipped I finally caved (he he he) and went to necrofin. Within half an hour this dropped for me. I was putting off necrofin because it didn't feel like I was killing as many as fast but I and many other people here would suggest that necrofin is the way to go. Happy farming

Got it after 2863 attempts (from a Necrofin Scavenger, I think) per Rarity, though I killed a bunch of the relevant Murlocs during BfA before I installed the addon.

Both gloves and bracers equipped.

I got nothing 3 days in a row and only on day 4 did I finally notice that using the bag gave me a random buff from one of the items you can loot off the ground in this zone. A 20 hour cooldown for a 5 minute buff. This thing is absolutely worthless lol.

Must've been lucky based off these comments. I got it after 186 kills tracked with the rarity string and I was wearing the bracers for finding stuff in the ecosystem better only. I also didn't even try farming the bloodfin murlocs. I only farmed the necrofin murlocs in the cave.

I've now gotten 2 of these in the last week without even really trying, not sure if they increased the drop rate but i got first from the murlocs near the hydras and second right near where prince voltran spawns, first one i killed 3 murlocs last weeks and this second i got from killing one stray murloc. I have the worst rng on the planet, so maybe theres hope for the rest of you out there.

Dropped after 2414 attempts from Necrofin Oracle. Probably most kill were from bloodfin, i killed around 400 necrofin murlocs.

Don´t get discouraged! The bloodfins had less drop rate but there are tons of them, while the necrofin are less but seems to have little more drop rate according to other findings. Happy hunting ! You will eventually get it !.

Pretty sure grinds like these are what gives people cancer.

EDIT: After 1.5 years of on-and-off grinding and my rarity string resetting due to a new install, finally received this after approx. 12,000+ kills. I did NOT have the gloves/bracers equipped at the time (though I did try grinding for a short time with them on, to no avail).

So I was farming this the last 4 days, just doing a daily 1-hour farm at the bloodfin murlocs with bracers and gloves. no luck, after reading many comments that the cave murlocs are better, I thought id give it a try, even tho mathematically it should be worse because it's just a bit better drop rate, but 10 times fewer mobs. guess what, after my second clear of the cave it dropped... maybe coincidence, but I'm happy.

so I posted here when I got 12k kills just hoping I went for a few more hours till 15k kills that night then stopped. came back today after m+ and got it around 16.5k kills the NECROFIN CAVE is the way to GO! this bag will prob make u wanna quit trying but just try to do 1-2k kills a day and you will get it. DO NOT FARM ASHEN STRAND

I don't get it. Do we actually know all variables on that issue?
Do we even know for sure the gloves and bracers effect the drop chance of Borsa Contenente di Mardivas?
How many players were farming the item? How many players came up with having to kill >10k of poor murlocs?

Wowhead tracks the chances to something around 1/1000 (which sounds more plausible than a wild guess of 1/811).
For my depressing numbercrunching, I assume that the drop chance is indeed 1/1000 on all valid "sources".

I need a math guy to review my thoughts - since I am not a math guy.

For me, it looks like we could plot

the X axis (kills) as a multiplier to x, with x being the denominator of the "1/x" (average of one drop in x kills), and
the Y axis as the statistical average percentage (0..100) of players still waiting for their prize,

... the graph would be independent of the actual value of x, as long as x is a number a great deal larger than 1. It works for 1/500 as well as for 1/1000.

With a endless numbers of players farming, the statistical average would settle approximately:

0.1 x - 90,5% -- 9 out of 10 players still unsatisfied
x - 36% -- 1 out of 3 players still unsatisfied
2x - 14% -- 1 out of 7 players still unsatisfied
3x - 5% -- 1 out of 20 players still unsatisfied
4x - 2% -- 1 out of 50 players still unsatisfied
5x - 0.7% -- 1 out of 150 players still unsatisfied
...
10x -... -- 1 out of 20'000 players still unsatisfied
...
15x - ... -- 1 out of 3'300'000 players still unsatisfied

Me,, I am coming close to to the 'one in a million' marker (around 13'900 kills without getting a Borsa Contenente di Mardivas - I stopped farming in BfA at around 7000 kills and picked it up again a couple of days ago) and I am wondering whether I should start trying my luck in the lotterey.
Speaking of. In the German lottery, the chances on the '6 Richtige' are advertised as "1 in 140 million". If your kill count shows 19000 kills, you are somewhere in the same ballpark.

And now we have several players reporting kill counts over 15x, which is very disturbing.

Edited to add in 2024 January 10th: After 19800 recorded kills, it dropped. I had become Death, destroyer of murlocs.
Wanna hear my advice? If somebody brings up "bad luck protection" with Blizzard, support the petitioner.

Man i thought people here were exaggerating. Took me 5215 kills with the gloves and wrists on. I feel the drop rate is a lot lower than shown here.

Famed 200 murlocs a day at ashen strand until I hit 19,000 kills. No luck
Switched to the Darkwater Cavern after reading some of the comments on here and got the bag in under 400 kills.
Found after 19,338 attempts.

Had both gloves and wrist equipped.

Good luck to other souls on the brink of insanity that are still farming this miserable item!
