Sadly you can't drink out of this one after Brewfest - You have to fill it up at one of the kegs at Brewfest, drink that, filled it up again at the same (Or another) keg repeating the process. Goodbye "Bottomless" Stein.

It does look fantastic though.

It took forever to get beyond "tipsy" with this. Sitting in front of the Gordok Festive Keg and pounding them back, OR waiting for the full 30s duration to tick down, I get "tipsy" right away and then a LOT more time to get drunk. Didn't use to be this way. What happened?

If this is some clever commentary on the fact that Brewfest is a commercialized enterprise designed to extract money from your wallet and not get drunk off free samples, well okay I guess. If this is "well everyone uses goggles anyway so we forgot to make the actual drinking mechanic work" then what the hell Blizzard?

So my AllTheThings addon said I can get the appearances of the old ones as well or at least the collection entry i guess?
What you have to do is fill up the Stein with specific brews, relog, refresh AllTheThings collection (shift-leftclick)

2 are in the Brewfest area near Ironforge and 2 are near Durotar and one in both locations

4) Relog
5) Refresh collection
6) Drink
Repeat from step 3

For all of your roleplay needs, I compiled a list of occupational tools for everyday heroes. Look at a weapon's "Item Versions" or "Same model as" tab for ones easier to obtain, a different color or weapon type, or a Transmoggable version. Higher levels can obtain Appearances for lower-level alts. If you want a quest Appearance from the opposite faction but do not have a character, use a Class Trial. Let me know if I missed a weapon! Good for bartenders, cooks, fishermen, farmers, gardeners, lumberjacks, miners, blacksmiths, alchemists, carnies, mechanics, and angry protesters.

This is not a transmoggable item. If you are doing this for the 'different' appearances due to transmog you shouldn't bother.

The reason it is showing in ATT (All the Things addon) is that the item ID for the filled stein differs depending on the beer used to fill it. All of the filled steins look identical - they have different flavour text noting the beer used.

This is basically just an equippable item. In my opinion they shouldn't list non-transmoggable items as cosmetic as it causes confusion

Regarding the appearances for AllTheThings: at least as of 2022 you do NOT need to relog to get them. Simply fill up your mug, unequip it, equip it and then refresh the collection.
Sure, you can relog if you feel the need to be safe but it is completely unnecessary.
