Dropped for us from King Mechagon after completing the dungeon on hardmode and receiving the achievement Keep DPS-ing and Nobody Explodes.
Can confirm it is a guaranteed drop.

This mount is awarded for completig Tanti danni, nessuna esplosione, which requires you to clear Mechagon Hard mode. If nobody dies, La resistenza è utile will be awarded too.

Activating Hard mode:

The Unità di Oppressione Aerea HK-8 hovers over one of the first three bosses when you enter the dungeon. Normally, you would head to whatever boss doesn't have the HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit over it, but for hard mode you must defeat each of the first three bosses while HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit is over it!
This causes you to have to deal with Walkie Shockie X1 robots during the fight, which are immune to damage (but not crowd control) and slowly follow random players while using Static Discharge. Upon reaching full energy they will self destruct.
Upon defeating the first three bosses while Unità di Oppressione Aerea HK-8 is above them, you will head to fight the aerial unit. This fight will replace the normal Anticarro v1 with a Anticarro v2, a harder hitting mob that also uses a move called Fulminating Burst, which adds a stacking mechanic throughout the fight.
The Walkie Shockie X1 robots you dealt with in the first three bosses return in this fight as Walkie Shockie X2 robots, which function the same but also have beams that connect between them which hurt when walked through.
The final change is reduced time to complete the hack in phase 2.
After defeating Unità di Oppressione Aerea HK-8 you can continue the dungeon until you get to K.U.-J.0.
There will be a clickable pile of robo-waste on the ground that you must click before engaging the boss.
The only change to this fight is the addition of Puzzo Nocivo, which adds a stacking slow.
The final part of hard mode involves the fight with King Mechagon.
There will be a small red button on a pedestal that must be clicked before the encounter.
Clicking the button will add a robot to the fight that does nothing but deplete its own energy bar over the course of the fight from 100 to 0. Upon reaching 0 energy, the party will instantly wipe.
To counter this, there are 4 panels around the room that will activate when the robot reaches 35 energy, roughly every 45 seconds.
These panels will all display a color and icon in a random order before flashing a red skull and activating an input sequence just before the final 10 energy countdown.
4 members of the group must each stand at one of these panels just before the input sequence and click them in the correct order that they lit up in to bring the robot's energy back to 100 and start the process over until the boss is defeated.

Here is a macro you can use to summon this mount while in Mechagon (since it will prevent you from being shot down) and your random favorite mounts elsewhere:

Anyone know if this is being remove in Shadowlands pre-patch or xpac? Or is it just the Hertz Locker achievement?

I was just in a run where everyone in the group got 'hertz locker' and 4 people got 'keep dpsing' at the same time. No mount dropped. I'm kind of confused why. Is it because the one guy who didn't get 'keep dpsing' maybe already was locked that week? he says he didn't do m0, only m+ this week so im not sure why no one got the mount.

For those of you running this in SHADOWLANDS: i just duo'd this with myself (tank DH, 196 ilvl) and a friend (201 fire mage) and we just completed it.

It's definitely doable but can be difficult when the mechanic falls during the magnet-pull phase (little effect on me as a DH, but she, as a mage, couldn't resist the pull to press her buttons)

We finally achieved the completion and WE DID NOT GET A MOUNT. It is only a "Guaranteed Drop" in a 5 man party. Presumably, each person has a 20%, even when there are only 2 people, so we had a 40% chance to get it, and a 60% chance not to (for the 3 people that weren't there!)

Be warned and be aware: if you don't bring 5, you can absolutely fail to get it.

And if you can solo that final mechanic? You're insane, and amazing, and probably not getting a mount anyway.

Side note: the damage in zone was trivial, and only during the last boss did she take a bit more damage than she'd like. It's a very safe run all around, i was pulling like an idiot.

On reset this week 4/13/21, I noticed on the last boss that the mechanics are bugged. It doesnt work either way. Cheese strat or normal strat. Can anyone else confirm that its bugged? 5 party group, no-one locked, hardmode done correct. No mount drop.

I know this is gonna be hard to beilve, but I managed to do this on my blood DK SOLO, and got the mount

After wiping many times on the boss trying to figure a way out to not get 1 shotted after the long cast, I tried run out of the boss arena and go to rustbold (dungeon entrance) stand there, and sometimes NOT always, the boss after the cast go off, you will not die, after that, boss has a chance to bugg out, and not dispawn, you will have to go there fast before it despawn, and you will see the actoual boss start to follow you, now you can charge the turret for free with no worries, and kill the boss.

Report: The appears to make you undetectable by the lockon device that the HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit carries.
I my self risk this research by flying other flyable vehicles and a gnome by the name of Clankin Rocksbult. I am sad to report the gnome did not make it, but when I flew the , I was completely sheathed from the Lockons.

I had an issue doing the operation: mechagon hardmode

HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit doesn't go to the third boss after killing Gunker first and the gnomes second. Aerial was always above and the bots spawned normally.
After the boss I got the message "Prince Erazmin says: Proceed with caution. Mechagon's war machine appears to be changing course." so it should be good.
But, instead of going to Gobbamak, it goes in front of the 4th boss and turns in circle.
I couldn't complete the requirement to get Tank Buster MK2 and I'm stuck. I tried it on 2 different character with the same issue.

I just soloed this on my assassination rogue. Using the 2 cheese methods mentioned in several other post below. On the 4th boss I couldn't get to the pylons fast enough, it seems if you try to kill the Tank Buster MK2 and favor the north side or the south side the opposite side will activate. After many deaths and many tries I did the running away trick. As soon as I killed the Tank Buster MK2 I ran back to town. The trick here is to start moving back towards the boss before he resets. It seemed there was a gap where you can jump off the platform in town and he won't reset.

The first time I was able to do this I got back to the pylon and drained it with no problem, but when he fell he fell through the platform and I wasn't able to get to him. The trick here is to stand on the back side of the pylon while it drains, he will then fall on the platform and can be killed.

I followed the instructions in the YouTube video below for the rest of the fights and got my mount and the Keep DPS-ing and Nobody Explodes achievement on the first try. I was worried that since I had died so many times I would get it, but I did get it. The Hertz Locker achievement seems to have been removed though.

How to solo Mechagon Hard Mode at 70:

1) Kill each of the first 3 bosses while HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit is patrolling their area.

2) Kill HK-8 Aerial Oppression Unit:
- In hard mode, you don't have enough time to hack the towers before Annihilation finishes casting.
- To survive, run back to Rustbolt as soon as Tank Buster MK2 dies. (Facing Rustbolt, enter from the left, or you risk leaving via the huge instance portal).
- The most consistent place to stand, in my experience, is in the inn area. right on top of Niru Datagear.
- As soon as the Annihilation cast finishes, jump off the Rustbolt platform, toward the boss. Close the distance between you and the boss ASAP.
- If done correctly, the boss won't reset, and will instead begin chasing you. This will happen very shortly after leaving Rustbolt.
- Now you're home free. Hack the tower as normal, and kill the boss.
--- If he resets (or Annihilation kills you), you can try again as many times as needed.

3) Before pulling K.U-J.0:
- Click the Robo-Waste pile in the boss room (on your left as you approach). It should fly into the furnace.
- Kill K.U.-J.0.
- Proceed to the final boss as normal.

4) Before pulling King Mechagon, the final boss:
- If all other steps were followed, there should be a pedestal with a red button in the middle of the boss room.
- DO NOT CLICK THE BUTTON YET
- Pull the boss out of the room, and he will reset.
- Spam any instant-cast ability you have, such that you pull the boss immediately when he respawns.
- If done correctly, after some animations, the button will reappear and be clickable during the fight.
--- If the button isn't clickable a few seconds after pulling, reset the fight again. You can retry this as many times as needed.
- Click the button at any time before killing the boss (in phase 2). You can lower his health in phase 2 as much as you like before clicking the button, but it's generally not needed. You have about 45 seconds - 1 minute after clicking the button to kill the boss.
- Kill the boss.

This mount works with Paramani del Meccafantino! :) Even though it's not made through Engineering, it has the same logic as G.M.O.D.

ilvl 409 noob MM hunter here. Just got this today, a couple of observations.

1. The cheese on the HK-8 fight still works (see other comments). I found that the HK-8 heads for you after the cast is finished, and if it doesn't go through the gate in the arena, it will despawn. This means you need to establish a direct line between it and you that passes through the gate asap after it finishes the annihilation cast.
2. You are likely to need a speed boost, or it will come in very helpful. I managed to get back to Rustbolt without using Aspect of Cheetah, and saved that for zipping out after the cast was over.
3. I managed to survive the cast and get back to the arena once and the KH-8 despawned as I was about to start draining. I think this was because I didn't attack it once I returned. Next time I was careful to guide it back in through the gate and whack it a few times. That seemed to work.
4. You can just ignore the hardmode mechanics for the King Mechagone fight, I was able to burn it down quickly enough.

Note: this depends on your gear, but this can be easily soloed as of DF without caring TOO much for mechanics, aside from 1 point.
I am not a high-mobility class, so it's not required, just might take a few attempts.

What you need:

Kill the first 3 bosses while the HK-8 unit is above the area. You can easily see it on the map and it's announced when it moves. Take the bots for damage, doesn't hurt.
Kill HK-8 unit. You know you did it all right if the Tank Buster is the MK2 model during the fight. This is probably the worst part to try and solo, unless you are a mobility class. I did this as a slow, slow paladin, and it was fine - but it took me a little bit to figure it out. If you don't have mobility, then you better have immunity. I couldn't get other options to work, so I just bubbled through to the coil and did it as fast as I could start it. Small tip: don't try to "run away" from the inner walking robot, just wait for it to be close, wait for the pulse next to the coil, then walk forward around it, it saves you some time. It might take a few attempts to get this right, but from there, it's smooth sailing.
Go to Kujo, click on a pile of waste on the left as you enter the room, kill the boss.
Get to last boss. Press red button before the fight. Kill the boss with your CDs. I run as a tank and it took me less than 40 seconds to kill it. I got it on my first try, which is lucky, but even alone, the drop chance is high.
