Does not work on wild battle pets. Consumed on use. Multiples do not stack ...edit: except that as of a hotfix on 29 June, they do stack now, to 200.

Being able to loot these from world objects is enabled by doing the quest Una scoperta bizzarra / Una scoperta bizzarra, which starts at Cristallo Strano. I've always gotten it from the westernmost one on my alts; I don't know if the other three locations shown on the map also give the quest, but I'm guessing they do.

These are used to get the Slimy pets added in 8.2. Use them to charm critters, then feed the critters to Ravenous Slimes. Repeat five or six times and get a pet.

I mostly found them near waterfalls. Once used on a critter, even if it lasts for 1 hour, do not log off during that time or you will lose your new friend.

Just a little warning: if you take a flight you loose the pet (and waste the crystal)... discovered the hard way :)

I found two of these at 43 73 in Nazjatar, at the top of the waterfall. I also found a bunch of them along the waterfalls at 45 42

I was not able to use a FP while the critter was following me, had to use HS to make the critter disappear and be able to use FP:s again.

They appear to spawn almost exclusively around waterfalls (at the tops and bottoms). I have looted one, only to have it return for another time 5 seconds later for a second one. :)

Notes:

-I was able to get my Slimy pets after 3 days of continuous critter feeding
-Prismatic Crystals to now stack and are found at the top/bottom of waterfalls
-Upon bringing your critter the Ravenous Slime for the 4th time, it will turn into a Cocoon that you click to loot
-You can receive the same Slimy pet multiple times
-The Slimy pets are cageable

The Cristallo Prismatico are found around waterfalls, at the base, top, side, under water, etc. They also stack now, so it'll make it less annoying to just gather them as you see them.

Use Cristallo Prismatico to tame, and then lure, a non-aquatic critter to Melma Vorace to feed them. (There are 4)
Critters can not be from the water and you can not take a flight path while one is following you. Common critters are Slugs, Snails, Crabs, Birds. You can find them all around.

You feed each slime 1 critter once a day, for 5 days, before the 5th day will spawn a little cocoon that you click on. Clicking on the cocoon will reward you with 1 of 7 available pets. You must learn the pet to get the achievement Giornate melmostose

Edit 8/3/19: Due to RL crap, I ended up feeding my slimes Tues-Thurs the previous week, and didn't finish feeding them until Thurs/Fri of the next week. The first 3 days carried over into the new week, and they did not reset on Tuesday, since I hadn't finished feeding them 5 days in a row. So it doesn't matter how long/often you feed them. Once you've fed them 5 times (With days, maybe even weeks between feedings), you'll get your pet and then have to wait until the next reset.

If you're trying to collect these pets but are having a hard time finding a pet and getting back before the timer expires, I have three words for you:

CRITTER HAND CANNON.

Use the Critter Hand Cannon next to the Ravenous Slime, then use the Prismatic Crystal on one of the critters. No more having to run around hoping to find a critter and then avoid combat and other delays while trying to get back to the slime!

I see lots of folks have had unfortunate incidents in getting their critter to the Ravenous Slime. Rather than waste a Prismatic Crystal, you can use a Panflute of Pandaria to get the critter there and then use your crystal. Of course you have to wait for its cooldown but better safe than sorry.

Hi just wondering when the unlock point is i have unlocked on multiple alts but im not sure what exactly i have to do to unlock seeing the Prismatic Crystals around Nazjatar

For those that have flying ...you can safely use this on critters and fly without loosing them. It even marks them with a small dot on the map, and shows them following you. I used this on several snails , and landed a little before the slimes, just to assure they were with me and gave them a little introduction room...didn't loose any.

Just thought I'd share for those that wanted to move a little faster and may be having issues finding critters closer to the slimes. Good luck!

When using these with land based pets I kept losing them before getting to the Slimes.

I now only use them for the flying critters, macro:
/tar great sea albatross

There are some around each slime area, and if you have to travel a bit they will fly while following and less likely to lose them, works great for me.

These are shown on the minimap for outlaw rogues with Trova Tesori active. Very convenient to farm that way.

TheSpanishInq posted a great macro for using this here: Melma Vorace#comments:id=3143364
It targets any eligible critter within range, applies the purple diamond raid icon (in case you're out of range of the crystal, you can move closer and retry the macro), and then applies the crystal.
