You can pick this up from inside the tree in the second Emerald Dream area (the one that was the end of the Emerald Nightmare raid).

It shows as a treasure chest on the map.

8.2.5 edit: This item has been changed from Common rarity to Poor rarity. This likely means the original planned use for this item has been scrapped. I doubt there's any need to keep a hold of this. You can now sell it for 1c.

Found this today. I have no idea what I'm supposed to do with it. It doesn't seem to do anything. You can't interact with it, none of the NPC's in the Emerald Dream zone acknowledge it being in my bags as I was expecting, I can't even vendor it as a trash item because it's literally worth nothing. So far, all it's doing is taking up one of my bagslots. I'll hold on to it for a little while longer just in case, but so far it seems completely and utterly useless.

Since you loot it during the rank 2 crucible of flame quest line, it might be worth holding onto until you get rank 3 crucible (which I'm guessing has its own quest line)

During Legion, this was lootable ~~by druids~~ shadow priests as part of the artifact weapons questline, but under a different clickable treasure. It left you with the same loot, but I don't foresee it being anything of note this expansion. The only thing about it now is that other classes can loot it due to the Heart of Azeroth questline.

side note : i still have the "gift of N'Zoth" on the toon i did this one. wondering if it will have an impact on where this is going

Interestingly, the All The Things addon lists the item as 'ATT -> Unsorted -> BFA -> Toy' on its item description. Potentially a toy in the future once requirements are met, such as other items? We'll just have to see. Try it yourself, as I cant seem to post my Gyazo link here.

When I click on the sell grey's button (from an addon), it says it sells this to the vendor for 1c, but the item remains in my bags and I don't actually get the 1c. I can click on that button forever and it keeps saying it sells to vendor for 1c, but it never goes away! (and I never get any copper!)

It's a remnant... of the void!
