This fish is related to part 2 of the secret fish achievement series, Pesci segreti e dove trovarli.
To start this you'll need to complete part 1.

The goggles:
With the Occhiali dei Pesci Segreti buff applied a small fish in a bubble will spawn somewhere within 40 yards of you. If you have sound on you'll hear bubbles when it spawns then 5-10 seconds later the fish will become visible at which point you'll be able to click it. The fish can be clicked while mounted, you do not need to be in water for it to spawn and it will spawn every 25-30 seconds.

Best way to do this is find a spot that is flat and with few surrounding objects (trees, rocks, etc) and just spin your camera around until you see the bubble.

The Fish!
Each time you click the puffer you'll be given a random fish, most of the time it will be the white "junk" fish for whichever area you're in as well as the occasional grey item, with the exception of Dalaran where you'll commonly get coins usually caught from the eventide fountains.

Catchrate is quite low for many of these so expect to spend a fair amount of time for this.

I've split the fish into different catergories.

The common:
These fish can be caught anywhere at any time of the day, save these lot for last as you'll probably get most if not all of them hunting the others.

If you're still missing these after you catch the others, the best places to catch these are on the floating islands, like the ones scattered around Outland Nagrand (45.9, 59.9). The zone exclusive:
These fish can only be caught in specific zones and sometimes even in very specific areas within zones.
9. Merluzzo Sangue Marcio - Nazmir, Zul'Nazman.
10. Pesce Storico di Giada - Jade Forest.
11. Sogliola Tonante - Isle of Thunder.
12. Pesce Pagliaccio del Kirin Tor - Dalaran (Broken Isles/Northrend).
13. Sgombro Meccanizzato - Mechagon.
14. Delizia della Regina - Nazjatar.
15. Manapinna Antico - Suramar. Anywhere in the Suramar city harbour. (Credit to Roguezs).
16. Pesce Prigioniero - Tol Barad (PvP area). Anywhere in the zone, the bridge that connects the two islands is a great place for this one, just make sure you're on the PvP area side of it (check minimap).
17. Pesce di Fiordo Spinato - Howling Fjord.
18. Liscavile Morto - Argus, Krokuun and Antoran Wastes. (Credit to Padwarle and Neryssa).
19. Tortolliano da Acquario - Drustvar, under Anyport in the underwater Tortollan bar called 'The Drunk Tank'.
20. Platessa dell'Aria Rarefatta - Neverest Pinnacle, Kun-Lai Summit. (Credit to Qaccy and Pungyo).
21. Guardingo del Pozzo - Mount Hyjal, in the lake under Nordassil.
22. Pesciolino Annegato - Drowned Lands (46, 50) in Stormsong Valley. (Credit to Bobins666).
Note: With the exception of the Tank Deweller (Fish 19), these are confirmed locations and may not be the only location within the zones where they can be caught. For the Tortollan Tank Deweller, I was only able to catch it once I was in the very specific sub-zone (where the name changes above the minimap).

For those suffering from woeful luck with the rarer fish, like the Platessa dell'Aria Rarefatta, this was discovered by Asmundr.

To everyone who is having trouble looting some fish. You need to approach the places like Neverest and Nordrassil on foot without a flying mount (There is a small path just before the Neverest peak) Then the 100% dropchance Fishes don't bug out and are lootable once more (Thin Air Flounder and Well Lurker) Alternatively just use the goggles when standing at those places when they are off CD.

If you're still having issues, clearing your bags of all secret fish (vendor or delete them) may also fix it.

The time scheduled:
These fish can only be caught within certain times, while one is active, the other is not. Whichever fish is active at the time can be caught in any zone.
23. Pesceluna Elusivo - Night only. 9:30pm to 8am.
24. Assorbisole Dorato - Day only. 8am to 9:30pm.
Note: We're not sure on the specific day/night switch over time, the above is just based on the times we've been catching them. If you catch these outside of the posted times let me know. Make sure its server time, not your local time.

The dead:
These fish can only be caught while the player is dead. Once you're a ghost these fish can be caught in any zone. (Credit to FenixInfinito).
25. Fantasma Velato
26. Pescevitreo Occhiuto
27. Galleggiante Silenzioso
28. Salmone Spirituale
Best place to catch these on any floating island, like the one directly behind the southern bank of Broken Isles Dalaran. Suicide by flying up and dismounting. The buffed:
29. Pesce Specchio Verde - Requires the Dipinto di Verde buff from the Mechagon mechanocat painting station (63, 42). This can be applied by walking over the green puddle on the station or having another player throw a Vescica Piena di Vernice Verde at you. (Credit to Sishrot).

The sporadic:
30. Pinnascarto Rimosso - Can be caught in the "future" version of Mechagon that Cromie sends you to for the quest L'altro posto. Unfortunately this daily is only available sporadically. (Credit to Lacrit).

A good place to farm the Pescevitreo Occhiuto, Galleggiante Silenzioso, Salmone Spirituale and Fantasma Velato, which only appear when you're dead, or in fact any of the "world" fish is the floating island South of Dalaran, at 45.67 67.93. Unlike Margos' island this one is free of clutter, so fish are very easy to spot.

Before flying up and then dismounting, put your armour and weapons in your bags so they don't suffer damage when you plummet to your death. When returning as a ghost, fly high and aim for the closest point of the island.

Note that you'll collect coins which count towards the coin fishing achievments, throwing a gold coin into the fountain in Dalaran gives you a two minute buff that increases the chance of getting further coins.

If anyone is having issues seeing the white bubbles against white-ish background while dead, this command removes the gray ghost effect and makes your screen look almost normal while dead:

/console ffxDeath 0

To enable it again, do the same but with "1" instead of "0".

If you intend to use the floating island trick to spawn fish while dead, do *not* use the ones in Outland Nagrand.
In Outland Nagrand, flying is not enabled while you are dead. And while the fish still spawn and there are plenty of wide open areas to hunt, you'll be forced to res at the graveyard rather than your corpse. An expensive and time-consuming way to go!

Went to farm my ghost fish on the floating litte island near Dala, died, was dismounted when flying back to my corpse and found a lovely spot underwater. At around 45 68 there's a huge stretch of sand underwater, the little fish bubbles are very easy to spot there.

Hang out on the landing platform of Legion Dalaran at the broken edge and face your character out towards the continent. Position the camera looking back towards Dal. I found all 4 dead fish in about a half hour.

Unlike some of the other rare secret fish, it might be that the "dead fish" are better caught by keeping those you already found in inventory. I deleted Galleggiante Silenzioso from my inventory five times, always directly after catching it. None of the other appeared for me. After starting to keep Galleggiante Silenzioso in my bag, the next two spawns provided me Salmone Spirituale and Pescevitreo Occhiuto. Of course, that might have been just my type of luck and any speculations superstitious nonsense; but I leave the interpretation to you.

PS: Both Galleggiante Silenzioso and Pescevitreo Occhiuto stack, I had 5 and 3 respectively after I finally got Salmone Spirituale.

The three "dead fish" can be caught in the Maw WITHOUT being dead. I guess in the Maw you are technically dead....

I farmed all the "dead" fish in Ardenweald. I went up to the Winter Queen's Chambers in The Heart of the Forest and stood on her platform with her, facing out. This caused all the bubbles to spawn in an arc around the front of the room. Easy to spot, easy to grab especially using flicker in soulshape! Just grab the fish, then flicker back to her platform and wait for the next spawn.

Beware! Be sure your Occhiali dei Pesci Segreti are activated and you have at least 20 minutes of time remaining before you begin fishing while dead. You can't turn your goggles on once you are dead.

Die on the spot where you want to fish. This puts a tombstone marker on the spot - it's easy to get disoriented in the gray corpse world. How? Fly high, then click on your mount icon to dismiss it.

Avoid light areas, like the sand beaches in Krarasang Wilds. You want the globe containing the Pesce Segreto to be the only thing that is bright white.

You can walk on water while dead, so you can fish Pesce Segreto orbs on water (which will be dark). You can flatten the water by turning down your graphic setting.

If you have flying in a zone, your spirit will automatically fly on a spectral mount. You can't dismount, so it's a good thing you can fish Pesce Segreto while mounted.

Since it's boring to wait in a gray world, I rode in circles instead of swiveling the camera. The Pesce Segreto orbs spawned along the circuit.

Save repair bills by putting weapons and armor that will have to be repaired in your inventory before you "die" - but you knew that.

I easily caught all 4 Dead Fish standing at the tip of the cliff's edge at 25.85, 44.73 at Sinfall, Revendreth within an hour. The fish spawn close by and were never difficult to see.

/way 25.85, 44.73 in Revendreth. The ratio of Floundering Sole to the fish I wanted was less than 15:1
