This fish is related to part 2 of the secret fish achievement series, Pesci segreti e dove trovarli.
To start this you'll need to complete part 1.

The goggles:
With the Occhiali dei Pesci Segreti buff applied a small fish in a bubble will spawn somewhere within 40 yards of you. If you have sound on you'll hear bubbles when it spawns then 5-10 seconds later the fish will become visible at which point you'll be able to click it. The fish can be clicked while mounted, you do not need to be in water for it to spawn and it will spawn every 25-30 seconds.

Best way to do this is find a spot that is flat and with few surrounding objects (trees, rocks, etc) and just spin your camera around until you see the bubble.

The Fish!
Each time you click the puffer you'll be given a random fish, most of the time it will be the white "junk" fish for whichever area you're in as well as the occasional grey item, with the exception of Dalaran where you'll commonly get coins usually caught from the eventide fountains.

Catchrate is quite low for many of these so expect to spend a fair amount of time for this.

I've split the fish into different catergories.

The common:
These fish can be caught anywhere at any time of the day, save these lot for last as you'll probably get most if not all of them hunting the others.

4. Pesce Imitatore Invisibile
5. Minibalena
6. Pinnasalina Collezionabile
7. Ghiozzo Viaggiatore
8. Osmero Invisibile
If you're still missing these after you catch the others, the best places to catch these are on the floating islands, like the ones scattered around Outland Nagrand (45.9, 59.9). Stand on the edge of the island and the fish will spawn in an arc around your character, shown here in green (Dalaran island used for an example): https://i.imgur.com/vrIYGgB.jpg

The zone exclusive:
These fish can only be caught in specific zones and sometimes even in very specific areas within zones.
9. Merluzzo Sangue Marcio - Nazmir, Zul'Nazman.
10. Pesce Storico di Giada - Jade Forest.
11. Sogliola Tonante - Isle of Thunder.
12. Pesce Pagliaccio del Kirin Tor - Dalaran (Broken Isles/Northrend).
13. Sgombro Meccanizzato - Mechagon.
14. Delizia della Regina - Nazjatar.
15. Manapinna Antico - Suramar. Anywhere in the Suramar city harbour. (Credit to Roguezs).
16. Pesce Prigioniero - Tol Barad (PvP area). Anywhere in the zone, the bridge that connects the two islands is a great place for this one, just make sure you're on the PvP area side of it (check minimap).
17. Pesce di Fiordo Spinato - Howling Fjord.
18. Liscavile Morto - Argus, Krokuun and Antoran Wastes. (Credit to Padwarle and Neryssa).
19. Tortolliano da Acquario - Drustvar, under Anyport in the underwater Tortollan bar called 'The Drunk Tank'.
20. Platessa dell'Aria Rarefatta - Neverest Pinnacle, Kun-Lai Summit. (Credit to Qaccy and Pungyo).
21. Guardingo del Pozzo - Mount Hyjal, in the lake under Nordassil.
22. Pesciolino Annegato - Drowned Lands (46, 50) in Stormsong Valley. (Credit to Bobins666).
Note: With the exception of the Tank Deweller (Fish 19), these are confirmed locations and may not be the only location within the zones where they can be caught. For the Tortollan Tank Deweller, I was only able to catch it once I was in the very specific sub-zone (where the name changes above the minimap).

For those suffering from woeful luck with the rarer fish, like the Platessa dell'Aria Rarefatta, this was discovered by Asmundr.

To everyone who is having trouble looting some fish. You need to approach the places like Neverest and Nordrassil on foot without a flying mount (There is a small path just before the Neverest peak) Then the 100% dropchance Fishes don't bug out and are lootable once more (Thin Air Flounder and Well Lurker) Alternatively just use the goggles when standing at those places when they are off CD.

If you're still having issues, clearing your bags of all secret fish (vendor or delete them) may also fix it.

The time scheduled:
These fish can only be caught within certain times, while one is active, the other is not. Whichever fish is active at the time can be caught in any zone.
23. Pesceluna Elusivo - Night only. 9:30pm to 8am.
24. Assorbisole Dorato - Day only. 8am to 9:30pm.
Note: We're not sure on the specific day/night switch over time, the above is just based on the times we've been catching them. If you catch these outside of the posted times let me know. Make sure its server time, not your local time.

The dead:
These fish can only be caught while the player is dead. Once you're a ghost these fish can be caught in any zone. (Credit to FenixInfinito).
25. Fantasma Velato
26. Pescevitreo Occhiuto
27. Galleggiante Silenzioso
28. Salmone Spirituale
Best place to catch these on any floating island, like the one directly behind the southern bank of Broken Isles Dalaran. Suicide by flying up and dismounting. This zone has ghost flying and if you stand on the edge of the island the fish will spawn in an arc around your character, shown here in green: https://i.imgur.com/vrIYGgB.jpg

The buffed:
29. Pesce Specchio Verde - Requires the Dipinto di Verde buff from the Mechagon mechanocat painting station (63, 42). This can be applied by walking over the green puddle on the station or having another player throw a Vescica Piena di Vernice Verde at you. (Credit to Sishrot).

The sporadic:
30. Pinnascarto Rimosso - Can be caught in the "future" version of Mechagon that Cromie sends you to for the quest L'altro posto. Unfortunately this daily is only available sporadically. (Credit to Lacrit).

Talk to a class trainer or a npc next to your garrison mission table to sign up for Proving Grounds.

After trying the spots mentioned above, I had no luck for the better part of two hours.

Went to Coast of Echoes /way 31.92 57.25 and got it in the second fish spawn.

The spawns seemed to be pretty fast, maybe 30 secs?

Osmero Invisibile can be caught anywhere at any time of the day.

I queued up for a daily random heroic dungeon, and I was put into Temple of Sethraliss. I ended up finding this at the end of the bridge leading into the large circular room with the two orbs. I saw a fish in a blue sphere and I noticed I could click on it, so, I did. Hope this info helps anyone on the hunt for this item.

I was in a raid for Heroic Stormguard - twice I saw a clickable fish in a water bubble on the side of the road. The 2nd one I clicked on was the Invisible Smelt.

Coming to WowHead to look it up was the first I heard of Secrete Fish and the achievement!

fished this (and all other "common" rares fish) in borean tundra: The Flood Plains. around 25-30 minutes for all of them (actually the Invisible Smelt is the one who took the most of the time). coords: /way 59.28, 48.39

Caught this in the Hyper-Compressed Ocean. I don't have the goggles and received the "The Old Gnome and the Sea" achievement when I caught it so you know I don't fish on this toon.

After a lot of tries (about 4 hours probably) I saw a video and decided to go to Jade Forest - Tideview Thicket at 38.74 5.68.

After 12 min I got 3 Jade Story Fish, Invisible Smelt, Inconspicuous Catfish and a Travelling Goby.

It's also a good general cliff to farm on since the bubbles always spawn in front of you when you position yourself at the edge.

Found two invisible smelts in the Alterac Valley battlefield, one in the cave you start in and one inside one of the towers. Neither were caught, both were just picked up off the ground.

This was my last fish for the achievement, and by the time I caught it, I'd gotten at least 3-7x of all the other seven "anywhere" fish. If this is your last fish as well, have faith, you're not alone!

I tried a few locations for the "anywhere" fish, but eventually settled at the Flood Plains in Borean Tundra at (61,57) where I got a LOT of the rare fish as well as some Midnight Salmon and Elusive Moonfish (I was obviously doing this at night), before getting the Invisible Smelt after about an hour. Kaskala is a very good source for the "common" fishes. I caught multiple Osmero Invisibile, Assorbisole Dorato, Snark Mimetizzato, Ghiozzo Viaggiatore, Fauci Ingannevoli and Minibalena within an hour.
There is a good spot behind the benches with good visibility to the surrounding area at 67.1 53.0

This took me several hours. All the others were easy, found with a good youtube-guide during less then a night/morning The common ones I had 5 left. This being the last. Got almost all my common ones in different dungeons. 3 in Mogu's Palace and 2 in the arena where Horridon is located. But this invisible fish I found after doing all of my routine and camping for the warlock-mount.

Don't give up hope for this one. Finally, after 13 mins on a floating island in Nagrand (Outland) co-ords 70,70 did I finally get this bad boy.

During this time, I also go 1 x Pinnasalina Collezionabile, 1 x Minibalena, 1 x Pescegatto Incospicuo, 1 x Osmero Invisibile, 13 Aringa Frenetica, 9 x Barracuda Litoraneo and 2 pieces of grey junk.

It was my 2nd last one to get. The last one is the Assorbisole Dorato. The Sunsoaker is only an issue due to the time differences for us Australian's and it only is available after 1:30am our time.

I don't know if this is a magical place or if someone put Felix Felicis in my tea, but in 15 minutes, I fished up the following.

/way #650 29.3 62.8 Highmountain Magic Circle of Secret Fish
There is an unnatural ring of natural rocks here, where I stood in the middle and cast my incantations (expletives?). There is a bit of natural clutter, so I did miss a few bubbles, but it's a small area so easy enough to cover.

So that's 1 out of 3 is a Secret Fish? Is that crazy? I'm feeling real good, after spending several hours trying to get those three I needed from various places mentioned in wowhead posts and a few of my own. Still need the alternate reality quest to pop up to get the Scrapfin.

EDIT: Came back today and had no luck at all. When it was "lucky", I was coming back from doing A pesca con le boe and Salmoni di Alto Monte Vivaci and it was around 10AM server time. Don't know what other circumstances might have been in effect to affect it. I wish I could have stayed longer to see what else fished up.
