Overview:
Shortly after completing the intro questline to Nazjatar, players will be able to pick up the quest Pietre Rivelatrici which begins a short questline introducing scrying stones. After the scrying stone questline is completed, players can receive scrying stones by killing rares on Nazjatar. The stones, when used, put a 5 minute buff on players that allows them to reveal arcane chests (and even a rare) that are hidden around the zone. You will know if you are near a chest because an extra action button will pop up on your screen for you to click.

Chest World Quests:
Within the first few chests you open you will receive Strano Coltello d'Argento/Strano Coltello d'Argento. After turning in the quest players will then complete the following questline:

Upon completion of the final quest, players will unlock additional world quests on Nazjatar that require players to open chests in a variety of different ways such as matching colored gems in a bejeweled type grid, uncrossing magical wires like Progetto Tutorial dei Circuiti di Orotron, and shooting arcane charges.

EDIT: Used to show that it's sold by horde vendor, now it's gone. So only way to get additional stones is from rares I suppose.

Opening treasure chests with this buff active has a chance to give you one of these buffs besides the loot from the chest;

- Allows you to see the hidden spots for these treasure chests on your minimap.
- Gives you a combat buff, a damage proc on attacks.
- A short speed boost.
- Chance to reset the timer of the scrying stone back to 5 minutes.

I suggest to farm up some Baccello di Corallo delle Profondità before using one of these. It makes so much easier to ignore mobs that you might aggro. I'm trying to find out which is the best place to farm the treasures, so far it seems Kalmethir (just under the text) is very good. Opening chests can extend the duration of the Pietra Rivelatrice, and you quite often get buffed with the Vista Arcana buff so you can see the chests on your minimap. There is also a speed buff sometimes Venti Accecanti.

Note: If you're doing for the achievement Nulla da rivelare, as of now (28/06) opening chests doesn't always grant credit for it. I would hold on to the stones for a couple of days.

Revealing treasure chests while scrying in Nazjatar should now reliably grant credit for Nothing to Scry About.

Not entirely sure why, but I used one of the two of these I had in my bag and came across a field of hidden treasures on the map. I spent 2 of the 5 minutes running around unveiling the chests at the dots located on the minimap, but after opening (roughly) 4 chests, the remaining 3 minutes on the buff immediately dropped off. Thought it was strange, so I activated the second stone in my bag. Opened (exactly) 4 chests, remaining timer fell off again. I'm not sure if it's a bug or something intentional (like instead of the timer resetting back to 5 minutes, it immediately runs out; or, if you're limited to only opening 4 chests per stone).

I personally found the small village near Elun'alor Temple (~77, 28) to be the best place to use the Scrying Stone.
Not alot of enemies over there and the chest density is quite high.

In the process of using 3 of these over 15 minutes, I got 6 manapearls and a decent chunk of war resources with a whole lot of vendor trash.

I just wanted to add for anyone wondering where to use these-
I've found that any of the small villages are usually the best place to farm. Also looking for them seems pretty intuitive, as in if you would expect a chest to be hidden there, it usually is. Check in small buildings, near statues, etc. The buff has a pretty decent range, so most of the time you don't even need to go inside, running past them is enough to trigger the ability.

Another thing I've found useful- If you die after using the ability to uncover a chest, but before you are able to actually loot the chest, it will still be there and you will be able to loot after you resurrect.

Both revealing and looting chests can be done in mid-air as a druid in flight form which seems quite a bit of an advantage.

I think with the last reset, like 3 hours ago, they nerfed or buffed just about everything in Naz including Scrying Stones. 4 stones, multiple true sights and zero manapearls. Along with, nothing really. Some items that Mrrl and his gang sells, some greys, some green on use items, nothing blue, nothing purple, nothing good and not worth the time.

And if you already have the achievement, what is the point?

This is definitely one of Blizz's worst ideas ever. First, they don't stack so - not wanting to junk them - I had like 10 in my bags. What a waste of bag space! Then, after "cheating" and using the waypoint list posted here by Sunjiang, I used several of them and looted 37 chests. Not one pearl. Mostly very low-grade VT or Mrrl's trading game crap - which are BOP and 1 day duration. Given that it's a total PITA to try to integrate the odd Mrrls items you loot into your buy lists, these actually make trading with Mrrl WORSE! Yeah, sure, might be RNG except for the fact that others routinely experience the same thing. So word: don't waste your time with this crap ... it's not worth it. Go hunt Algens for pearls or just do dailies. Way quicker and less annoying.

Heavily nerfed manapearls-wise. Went for like 20 minutes of scrying - 0 pearls, 0 benthic, 0 anything. Still somewhat useful for farming war resources, otherwise just delete stones.

If you are flying around trying to use this, you need to be very close to the ground in order for it to interact with the treasure points. Just flying over the top of the locations will not get them to show up. You don't have to be completely on the ground but anything more than a few feet off the ground and you can't find anything.

I just want to remind everyone that despite these not being worth anything anymore and everyone telling you to just get rid of them and what not, they are needed for Nulla da rivelare which is a component of the meta Usurpatore degli oceani which in turn awards Granchio Vilschiocco and . So yeah, don't just get rid of these unti lyou have found 100 treasures to complete the acheivment.

Whatever you do DO NOT USE THIS IF YOU HAVE VIM WITH YOU! I don't know if the other bodygaurds are as bad about aggroing things but i was in the area with the highborne ghosts and as a fury warrior it's already hard enough to fight the muscle memory to whirlwind as filler and pull extra mobs but between vim running all over the goddamn place and the sea giant he summons also aggroing everything including nuetral mobs i think i got about 5 chests and the rest of the time was just fighting a horde of mobs.

Update: So it turns out all you need to do to get credit towards the achievement is reveal the chests, not open them, so if you just go around revealing chests and leaving them there you can go back and open them when the buff wears off and in my case i was lucky enough to get another scrying buff from the chests i left behind, so i did it AGAIN and got a third buff from one of the chests on the second run and got the achievement, so you can maximize your time if you don't open chests until after the 5 minutes is up since theres a chance a chest will give you a fresh scrying buff. Also monel hardened stirrups make flying around and opening the chests MUCH easier(they do despawn eventually).

Significant rewards from the chests you find with this are:

Spawns Castello di Sabbia (about 1 in 20) which in turn drops Bramasabbia (about 1 in 20); (combined odds: 1 in 400)
Moneta Incrostata (about 1 in 250) which is worth 400-1000g when you turn it in to Bramatenebre Yarga (underwater at 38.0 59.2)
Mano Scheletrica (about 1 in 250) which is worth 400-1000g when you turn it in to Bramatenebre Yarga (underwater at 38.0 59.2)
Occhio Cieco (about 1 in 250) which is worth 400-1000g when you turn it in to Bramatenebre Yarga (underwater at 38.0 59.2)
Ordini di Schieramento dei Naga / Ordini di Schieramento dei Naga (about 1 in 250) which gives 150 rep with each of the three Nazjatar bodyguards
Conchiglia Abissale / Conchiglia Abissale (about 1 in 250) which gives 150 rep with your Nazjatar faction

A few of the more common items for Datemi la sacca più grande che avete: Totem della Tempesta, Perla dell'Abisso, Pesce Esposto, Pinna Alfa, Carapace di Muta, and Pesce Mutante Fermentato (about 1 in 200-500 each). (You're likely to pick up all of these in the normal course of things without having to farm chests to get them.)
Any of the white, green, or blue items in Mrrl's trading game (very common)
Gray items worth as little as 13 copper or as much as 16 gold, but usually 5-7 gold (very common)
A few chests only have 1 copper in them.

In short:

In my opinion, it's worth farming these until you get both pets and Nulla da rivelare. It's also worth farming these if you need War Resources, which add up quick. The gold, manapearls, and rep are very nice but farming chests for them is probably not more (or less?) efficient than farming them via other means. You won't need to farm them for Datemi la sacca più grande che avete beyond the two pets (and even those you could buy off the AH and still get achievement credit), but you might still be able to fill in some gaps that way.

Really wish Blizzard would make these stackable.

But I'm finding the whole experience a tad buggy. I can have the buff and can track the chests on my map but the spell to make them appear isn't available after I open 1-2 of them. Maybe it's a ploy to get me to use the stones in my bags.

This buff has a very weird interaction with channeled spells. Apparently the two don't mesh well, if you try casting a channeled ability near a chest, the "reveal chest" extra action button will briefly disappear, then immediately appear again and cancel your cast in the process.
Makes killing elites near any chests a chore, if not a challenge, if you are a windwalker monk, shadow priest or any other class that relies on channeled abilities.

Don't try and do this in a group with a friend - even if you both use the Scrying Stone only one of you will get the extra action button for each Cassa Luccicante and be able to reveal and loot it.

I've been trying to do this right before Shadowlands comes out and it's been a bit of a nightmare. At peak times there are six Alliance people in Nazjatar so taking down some rares is difficult at best. I've been farming what rares I can solo for two days and haven't gotten a single Scrying Stone. The Stones themselves are soulbound and the achievement is character-specific. So even though my main is 77/100 for the achievement and my alts have 6 stones between them, I'm really no closer to finishing it. Blizz needs to make the Stones either sellable or account-bound or make the achievement account-wide.

Edit: After three more days of farming I finally got the two scrying stones I needed. One of them from a waterlogged chest bought from Mrrl. One from farming rares. I have serious doubts about the 25% drop rate that WoWHead lists. I'm sorry to anyone that still wants to do this.

I used to farm them for the Undersea Usurper but then I take a break. I am trying to finish it now in Shadowlands but it is impossible for me to drop some Scrying Stone and I killed every rare I've found. Maybe the rate drop is different now?

Anyone know how to get these things now? Been killing any rares I see, killing elites, killing the mobs you summon at Mardivas's Laboratory. Not one single stone has dropped for me in Shadowlands. Kinda impossible to complete Nothing To Scry About if you can't get any stones! I seriously regret not finishing this in BFA...

So these are for sure bugged. Gonna try and get some evidence together and make a bug report.

In the last 3 months I have:
Killed over 100 rares
Killed hundreds of elites/random mobs
Done 50-60 WQ
Opened over 100 chests

In that time I have had 0 stones drop =). So something is glitched here, It's either a character or account problem, unsure as of yet. If anyone else can please report this bug i would really appreciate it. The meta is currently unobtainable due to this issue :/

EDIT: Since reporting this as a bug and waiting a few days, these have been dropping again. Again I killed roughly 200 rares with no drops. Reported bug, took a few days break, Another 100 killed (mix of wm on/off) and have gotten 4 or so to drop. Maybe just the most insane RNG in wow history, but these are dropping again. Still kinda low drop rate, but should drop 1 for every 25-50 rare kills.

Looks like the stones doesnt drop but...

I killed few algans / trees and got the buff directly to the buff bar. Opening chests fast can sometimes award bonus time too.

It's not possible to get any stones... First: no rares, people still farming it? Second... drop rate is very, very low! And I still need around 80 chests and just this one achievement left :( HELP!

I am pretty sure you need to be in War Mode for these to drop - which is worth it anyway since you can buy a mount with the PvP tokens that also drop from rares.

Not a re-usable item. Lasts five minutes which is long enough to get one chest, if you're lucky.

I went from 10 chests to 90 today alone, so don't believe other people, I had 3 stones drop for me today.
Just fly low over the ground and wait for the extra action button to appear on your screen, don't dismount, just click it, fall, and don't loot; repeat.

Handynotes is really useful here, shows you the chest locations so you can open a lot of chests in 5 minutes. Especially useful farming for sandcastle, who can take anywhere from 10 to 50 chests to spawn.
