This is 100% doing to be a random 1% drop mount instead of one you could actively farm and see your efforts rewarded, because this is how WoW works these days. I hate RNG and its almost everything the game has to offer.

Before you downvote me to oblivion, please consider this. This mount looks unique enough to have some sort of built-in ability, similar to farming herbs with Golem dei Cieli, after all, it is the only mount in the game that has anything else on it besides the riding utilities (like saddles, rocket boosters, etc...) or vendors.

We don't know yet what the shield will be used for or whether will it have any use at all, but I imagine that shield will be an obstacle worthy enough to be a rare sight. Since we're talking about Gallywix, I could not fathom how we can get our hands on this golden mount without paying an enormous amount of gold or if he was to have it stolen by Mekkatorque and we acquire it from his loot table on mythic difficulty setting; to be honest, this mount seems too unique to be an LFR drop.

In the dungeon journal M.IM.MO.G. is listed as a drop on all difficulties, seems kinda strange that this awesome mount would actually drop from LFR.

Can confirm it doesn't fly.

Drop rate seems to be about 1 per kill. (Someone in group will get). I got it first night. Then I joined another group and 2 other people had it lol.

it flyes as of 25/1 (same flying animation as sky golem)

it's " jump" effect is the lifting the lightning claw into the sky and charging it, sparks falling of hitting the ground (physic based)

when walking it have a very satisfying "DONK" for every step. (a bit lighter then )

if drawing your weapon at the same time as you mount it it can bug and have your main hand weapon sticking out of the shield hand "like an arm missile"

Had this drop tonight on normal.
Few things: it is a flying mount.
Unfortunately, it does not appear to be a profession mount. I could not stay mounted while herbing or mining.
For Horde- Gallywix is on the shield surrounded by gems (not sure if that's the case for Alliance)

It's possible for two players to receive a G.M.O.D. in one fight.

Similar to for example Verme dell'Abisso, this mount is automatically added to your bag at the end of a kill, you don't loot it. Therefor it's not possible to trade it.

Despite being somewhat similar to Golem dei Cieli, G.M.O.D. does not give the ability to pick herbs while mounted.

When the patch launched GMOD was in the LFR loot table in the dungeon journal, but the LFR loot journal was hotfixed to have it drop from Jaina instead. I'm assuming this was to prevent people from leaving after the first boss.

Would be amazing if anyone could confirm receiving this/seeing in drop on LFR after the hotfix. They usually botch these things tremendously, i.e. Gul'dan mount suddenly dropping in LFR, Sha mount not dropping at all, and so on and so forth.

Considering how this mech runs on Azerite, it would make a lot of sense to have it feature a mining ability similar to how Golem dei Cieli allows the pilot to gather herbs.

Then again Gallywix would never dirty his hands collecting his own fuel so the argument against mining is just as easily made.

I've been seeing this mount alot lately and my first thought was; man, there are lots of mythic raiders on my realm. But as it turns out, many wrote that they got the mount from LFR/normal mode and susptects that the droprate might be higher than the usual 1%. Personally, I'm not quite sure about that, but if you ask me, It's probably because so many are doing the last wing atm and it's become very popular to farm mounts and pets with armies of alts.

With that in mind, I did LFR with my main monday evening for the first time in the new wing and last night with my alt and just before Jaina went down I thought; ohh yeah, looking forward to shiny mount and G.M.O.D dropped.
I mean, It's something that you hope for, but do not expect. I was not prepared.

This is the fastest I have ever gotten a rare mount, only surpassed by Mimiron's Head on my 5th time in Ulduar. Meanwhile, I'm on my 4th year of farming for Invincible's Reins. Sigh.

This mount is automatically added to your bags immediately when defeating Gran Meccanista Meccatork (or Dama Jaina Marefiero in Raid Finder only). It does not drop off the boss and cannot be traded or obtained with a bonus roll.

So if you've defeated Mekkatorque (or Jaina) and didn't immediately get the mount added to your bags, you did not get the mount for the week. Good reminder to not get yourself hyped up when you go to loot the boss chest as the mount will never drop from it.

Ran it on LFR this morning and got it from Jaina. I accidentally popped Time Warp on Phase 1 (Fat fingered the mouse buttons) and was kicked. Ran it the second time, finished the fight, and voila! :-)

Received G.M.O.D. on 3/26/2019 this was my 13th Lady Jaina Proudmoore kill. All 13 kills done via LFR and was my first kill on my monk Pridelee-Azuremyst. This was also the first time that I had seen the G.M.O.D mount drop for anyone in any of those 13 kills. Best of luck all.

Just thought I'd note that this mount is actually quite interesting.

When you mount up, your player character is not visible at all. The player icon will turn to that of the G.M.O.D. and if you check your characters loadout screen, it will show the G.M.O.D.

It's almost as if this mount works as a costume rather than a mount. I can't think of any other mount besides the Sandstone drake that does this.

I wonder if it has diferent % of drop depending on lfr or normal or heroic. I've been doing in lfr 6 times per week and still nothing, but when I see someone with the mount they told me they got it on normal (like 85-90% of the times), the other 10% on lfr...god damn mount you're the only thing making me playing until 8.2 comes out :c

Got it on my 6th run from Jaina in LFR.
Basically your character turns into the mount, which means items or spells that change your appearance will affect the look of the mount as well (for example when you play moonkin and use Glyph of Stars, the mount will turn into an astral form).

This just dropped for me in LFR, after killing ONLY Jaina. So there's no need to do the full run from Mekka/Blockade/Jaina, which is good news for those people getting dropped in at last boss!

For the record, I expected to do 100+ kills for this, and got this after a total of only 20 LFR runs. Lucky!

~~This mount is bugged.~~ When mounted, the player's height doesn't appear to be changed like it should be when riding a mount, so when walking in shallow water, it ends up swimming despite being taller than the water. What results is a silly looking animation where you're flying right above the water. I tested this with the Sky Golem which has the exact same model and that mount works correctly. I submitted a bug report but I doubt it'll be fixed any time soon.

Edit: it seems that this is caused by the fact that the mount transforms the player, as mentioned by another comment, so we retain our normal character height rather than take on the height of the mount. This is consistent with other mounts that transform the player too, like the Sandstone Drake. So I guess this was intended.

Just wanted to confirm that you have 1 chance for each difficulty and not 1 for all difficulties as some people in-game claim.

We made a group in Normal and another Heroic with the same exact people. We got 1 on NM and another on HC.

So last night i managed to get the mythic jaina mount (the new legit skip makes that so easy to farm now)
And for a fluke i decided to quickly run an LFR on my main.
I mean, why not? Just to see if i get lucky.
Not 1, but TWO of these drop.
I got this mount and the glacial tidestorm within an HOUR of each other.
What are the odds?

I am not sure if LFR has higher chances as I think I saw someone else got the mount too in the same raid. But yeah!

So for purpose of Wowhead I was stubborn to do this for 375 tries on just LFR with Jaina. After that which was last week I did 4 heroics on alts due to the expansion ending. Which added to 379. On my 10th farm character this week adding up to 389 I finally obtained the mount.

I'm not a mount collector but I just like transforming mounts like Hivemind etc. I wont be doing this type of effort again but I got too deep into it! Wishing you guys all the best luck!

This amazing mount dropped for me yesterday, on 05.11.2020, on normal difficulty after only 14 attempts! Never in any world I expected this mount in my inventory after so little effort. Thank god rarity took this screenshot, because when I saw the G.M.O.D. icon I started yelling and coulnd't even think properly for like 5 minutes.

As a hardcore mount collector I was insanely happy that for once the luck was on my side (comparing the fact that Vitrous stone drake, North wind drake, Swift Zulian panther took more than 500 attempts, BFA dungeon mounts took well over 500 attempts combined etc).

Oh, as classic - it pops in your screen and IS NOT looted at the boss. Works the same way was Legion legendaries, Antorus special weapons, Abyss Worm, Antoran Charound etc.

Can anyone confirm that this one still drops in patch 9.0.2?
I did them this week on 15 chars with around 20-25 people per run, not a single drop.
Weeks before we usually had 1 to 2 drops per 3 runs, wich is why Im asking.

Edit: To be sure I want this verified because both the Jaina mounts and Mythic Nzoth mounts have been bugging out at the beginning of this reset.

Hello guys, any recommendations to farm this mount? Is there any skip you can work on to skip directly to Mekkatorque? Can you join with friends in LFR to try Jaina?

I tried soloing Mekka in LFR but is impossible. Is it better to do a normal run? I only see Mythic groups for transmog but nothing for the mount, last night I joined a Mythic party and we barelly killed Rastakhan. With 20 people in the party it was impossible to kill Mekkatorque. I dont really know what to do to farm the mount.

Any advice will be more than welcome!

Im on about 170 attempts so far since shadowlands and probably another 20 or so during BFA but still no mount. However I do see the mount drop for other people quite frequently. One guy got it today after just 40 attempts. But I have seen others with as many as 550 attempts without the drop. At this point im thinking of quitting the game and getting my life back. Its not just this mount, Famu 300 attempts, Guldan 200+ attempts, Valarjar Paragon mount 200+ attempts. If they ever drop, it wont be a feeling of joy, I'm way past that emotion. It will be a feeling of relief and FU Blizzard.

Update ... GMOD finally dropped on 220 attempts (240 ish including the runs in BFA) in a normal difficulty raid. 15 weeks (nearly 4 months) 4 hours each week.

Its a pretty mount but never worth the time and disappointment over 4 months. I have farmed some rare mounts in my time like Rustfeather, Time-lost proto-drake and voidtalon but GMOD nearly broke me. Thank god its over.

Can anyone confirm this mount can drop for you, even you're dead in the fight?

I do that with lots of 50 lvl alts and most people can't LoS boms, so we end up with half of raid dead. Rarity actually doesnt count the attempt, when I am dead, but don't know if it has any connection. I just wonder if it can normally drop or it's bugged, because never seen it drop for anyone that was dead at the end of fight.

Just wanted to drop by and confirm this mount can still be obtained through doing the Jaina lfr wing, i was helping a friend clear it for mog he needed and i got it after killing Jaina which completes that lfr wing also. 42 attempts for me so good luck!

Looted G.M.O.D on my first mythic kill in a pug. Purely there to get the achievement clear. Incredible luck, considering less than 5-10 other kills in the past. I have never seen others loot it also. Mythic is still hard to pug, so I would not advise it. Rather wait for next expansion if you don't wanna risk wipes and disbanded raids.

For those of you looking to solo farm this and don't have a lockout handy for normal/heroic. This is super soloable in Dragonflight @ 70 in LFR(Victory or Death). It drops from Jaina in LFR, and even as melee the phase 2 the Ice waves she emanates don't always 100% turn you into a block and insta wipe, so if you can interrupt her it's smooth sailing.

Eppu will let you solo queue for Lady Proudmoore if you are running for the G.M.O.D mount. Pick Victory or Death option.

Seems pretty easy to run on LFR now in DF as long as you don't get caught by the robots on mecha you can run the whole wing pretty easily, been running this on two chars pally and hunter farming it on LFR up to 81 attempts. GL to everyone farming.

Farming this on two characters and about to increase it as I've been getting my alts leveled to 70. Here's some instructions and tips.

Access:

Do this on LFR. You can access LFR in Dazar'alor from Eppu. The NPC is on the second level of where the portals and bank is, towards the exit. Exact coordinates: 68.72, 31.25.
Choose victory or death to do the LFR version of this

First and second boss:

Try your best to avoid mekkatorque's robot mobs so that you don't end up in a forever loop of stuns. They move slowly so it shouldn't be difficult.
Don't bother using your CDs on mekkatorque or the second boss Laminaria
Save your interrupt ability for the second boss, do not use it on the mobs on the boat

Jaina, aka Paina

Save your interrupt for the second phase
Use interrupt for Howling winds
For the phase where she goes to the center and starts doing the wall of frozen doom, IMMEDIATELY type /tar wall. It's on the path from the boat you were just on so it should be hard to miss, but it's easy because it's not labeled. Attack this wall and move forward to prevent yourself from dying and having to reset the fight. I'd never done the raid when BFA was active so I didn't know to do this.
Use another interrupt on Arcane barrage before you attack Jaina again

Leaving:

Don't talk to nathanos to leave, just right click your portrait and leave party. If you talk to nathanos he puts you out in zuldazar and you have to fly back to dazaralor. If you leave party you will go back to Eppu.

I got this on my brand new 2nd account for ALT army and gold making etc. I got auto looted to my Evoker in LFG version. There's no trade timer or info listed on tool tips.
I tried to trade it to my main account toon, the one I was farming it on to begin with, seen about 20 drop and never one won an now that I do I've hit this conundrum.
I posted on Twitter and in FB WoW groups asking if there's a way to trade it, doesn't seem like it or at least no one has replied yet so yeah IDK. Sucks if I can't trade it.

But, if nothing else this would be my new account's first very rare mount. Looks amazing too. I have plenty of alts to farm it on so it's not that big of a deal. Also, I got two EPIC boes on ship boss trash pack looted on my main toon on my main account. Never looted more than one EPIC boe in raid trash before lol. So many odd things.

Also I said to someone in my chat, "it's been a while since I've gotten a rare mount drop" low and behold...it's literally only my evoker's 2nd time killing Jaina and she got the mount ROFL.

1st i got that ugly looking mount from mythic antorus,
2nd i got the green infernal,
3rd & 4th i got 2 different demon mounts from argus rares &
finally the 5th i got the gmod.

I ran 139 community raids for this mount, killing it in normal and HC. I counted the number of participants and number of drops, here is the recap:

Number of tries: 3805
Number of drops: 10
Droprate: 0,81%

While I understand 3805 tries is not a huge set, I just wanted to share my experience. It personnally took me about 344 tries. Good luck everyone!

Every week, using two accounts, I shared the lockout of my 2nd account to my 20ish characters on my main account. I did that for 8 weeks, running it in NM and HC with about 10-15 others people on average.
I counted the number of participants for each kill and the number of mount drops. As the mount is personal loot, each participant for a kill can be counted as a unique try.
For example, if we had a group of 10 people doing 20 runs, the number of tries would be 10 x 20 x 2 (NM / HC) = 400

This is easily farmable on LFR solo now. Here is how to find the Horde NPC Eppu and Alliance Kiku
Solo Queue Battle for Azeroth LFR the Victory or Death option

The mechanics are easy

High Tinker Mekkatorque : you just have to wait through the flying phase and avoid the bots, they will stun you, its annoying
Laminaria : Interrupt after you get off the ships or you will die
Lady Jaina : you have to get her quickly after the ship fight, interrupt her, when she starts casting Flash Freeze avoid the circle and run back to the wall where the ship is, break it and free the npc in the ice block, if you get caught in the circle you will die, after the cast is done just run back and kill her. G.M.O.D. will go right into your bag if it drops, no need to open the chest.

I'm not sure if they increased the drop rate, but I quit for a couple years, just came back for a few weeks. Got back into my collecting habit and thought maybe I should see if normal through mythic bod were soloable. I was able to get past the mechanic bosses in normal with bubble and 450 ish ilvl, mostly timing, not super difficult.

Anyway, I did a single normal run and got the g.m.o.d mount. Super stoked, had been farming this when current. Looks like 88 kills lfr through mythic in total. I think I had seen it twice when current. May have seen it on alts as well but not 100% sure.
