Bloodstone Tunneler is a pet that is rewarded at the end from winning Island Expeditions. Difficulty doesn't seem to matter to get him, as I got him on a normal level one.

His appearance is pale greenish grey with purple details, though the color variations do change a bit. Movement is a slither motion.

Flavor Text: "Is that a venomous worm in your pocket or... why is that in your pocket?"

At the time of writing this, his only breed is "Rare" with level one stats being Health: 152, Attack: 10, and Speed:13.

Abilities:
Acidic Good | Glowing Toxin | Paralyzing Venom
Poison Spit | Swallow You Whole | Burrow

I got this pet in a normal island victory, i can't remember the map but i am pretty sure we killed the rare tunneler that appeared from the ground (same model like this pet).

Some great news on these drops and ways to have a better shot at them! For those who have not seen it yet, Wowhead posted an article that mostly spells out how to have a higher chance to get them and how this was determined:

So if you queue up with people and are wanting these, it seems best to kill the named rares, loot treasures and focus killing the mobs who are invading as well (when those occur (seemingly more in normal mode)) along with the same types of mobs who these drops belong too (and some of those are still being figured out). This may also mean not killing the elementals that spawn, as was mentioned by some in comments.... Good luck to all and credit to all those involved in figuring this out!

UPDATE: 1st run after posting this, our group focused only rares, pirates (no mount sadly) and the Saurok, and this bad boy dropped!

These worms can come in different colors, corresponding to the worms you encounter on the island.

I've received two so far, one was solid white, and another was orange/green.

Got this after an earth elemental invasion and looting one of the special chests you find after killing the main elite after entering the portal. Did also kill one of the rare tunneler mobs but if it drops off them the rate must be REALLY low because I've killed those SO many times.

Just did a solo run today and got Jorundall as one of the selections. This was looted after the run, but at no time did I kill any of the worms, nor did I even see any while I was there.
