Some great news on these drops and ways to have a better shot at them! For those who have not seen it yet, Wowhead posted an article that mostly spells out how to have a higher chance to get them and how this was determined:

So if you queue up with people and are wanting these, it seems best to kill the named rares, loot treasures and focus killing the mobs who are invading as well (when those occur (seemingly more in normal mode)) along with the same types of mobs who these drops belong too (and some of those are still being figured out). This may also mean not killing the elementals that spawn, as was mentioned by some in comments.... Good luck to all and credit to all those involved in figuring this out!

The Pietroide Ridente is a bull-like Pandarian earth elemental pet available from Island Expeditions.

The Laughing Stonekin is required for Sono qui per le mascotte. It is not cageable and you will need to get it yourself to count towards the achievement.

Dropped on an island expedition where we killed the elite earth elemental Bloodstone and not much else like it.

I am so SICK of getting this pet and the other ones like it. Rotting Mire H, killed a couple naga, some crabs, some lizards, some crocs, and lots of Jinyu. Never once killed ANY pandaren spirits and the island is not a Pandaren area like Un'gol Ruins, so there is no reason for this to drop. It doesn't fit the theme. I've gotten it from other islands too that have had similar creatures, no spirits. It makes no sense.
