This leads to Serpente del Sangue di Nazjatar

First you need 20 Frammento Abissale These are world drops now, unlike Beta where they dropped from a specific mob. These are NOT bind on pickup and can be bought/sold on the AH.

After collecting 20, you need to find the Altar of the Abyss, which is in Stormsong Valley at 73.50, 23.61 behind a waterfall. At the back of the cave you'll find the altar.

Clicking the items takes off about 5k hp after it's crafted, and created Abhorrent Essence of the Abyss
Essenza Ripugnante dell'Abisso

Which specifies "Make offering to the Abyssal Flame.

<You feel a crippling fear, making the offering without a group of powerful allies would be unwise>

The Abyssal flame is in the mine in Stormsong at Warfang hold at 58.88, 85

Killing the elite gives the SUMMONER ONLY the mount Nazjatar Blood Worm, but you will want a party to kill it.

Question: If you combine your 20 Frammento Abissales, use your Essenza Ripugnante dell'Abisso, summon the Adherent of the Abyss, and then fail to kill it and wipe, do you get to try again with the same Essenza Ripugnante dell'Abisso, or do you need to make a new one for a 2nd attempt?

Answer: Based on this video from BfA Beta, it looks like the Essenza Ripugnante dell'Abisso is consumed upon summoning the boss. Whether the boss despawns after a wipe or not, I don't know, as I can't seem to find any videos or other evidence of anyone failing to kill it. Either way, I'd recommend not summoning the boss unless you're very confident that your group can defeat it.

(When the player's bags are open at 5:08, you can see the Essenza Ripugnante dell'Abisso in the bag immediately above the Backpack, in the 6th row from the bottom and 2nd column from the left. The player then summons the boss at 5:20, kills the boss at 7:35, and opens his bags during the last second of the video at 7:41, showing an empty slot in his bags where his Essenza Ripugnante dell'Abisso was.)

I got it yesterday. I can also confirm it drops another quest item for future use (possibly Uldir content). Name is Etere dell'Abisso

My freind gifted me 20 Abyssal Fragments then we went to Stormsong Valley cord (73.50, 23.61 ) at this point you can see a hidden cave behind a waterfall go there.

When you reach the end of the cave you can convert your 20 Abyssal Fragments into a Abhorrent Essence of the Abyss this is used to summon Adherent of the Abyss.

Next go to Warfang Hold cord (58.88, 85) inside the cave you will see a little statue you can click and summon the boss that drop this mount. ATT: Adherent of the Abyss is a shadow boss with 1.3 mil hp. We went as a group of 4 (Prot pally - Disc priest - Frost mage - Boomkin) and he was a easy kill for us. ONLY the summoner get this mount!

How to get Serpente del Sangue di Nazjatar

Collect 20x Frammento Abissale (world drop, but can be traded and found on the AH)
Clicking the Frammento Abissale takes off about 5k hp after it's used, and creates Essenza Ripugnante dell'Abisso, can only be used at the Altar of the Abyss, which is in Stormsong Valley at 73.50, 23.61 behind a waterfall. At the back of the cave you'll find the altar.
Essenza Ripugnante dell'Abisso specifies Offerta Essenza Ripugnante "Make offering to the Abyssal Flame.
The Abyssal flame is in the mine in Stormsong at Warfang hold at 58.88, 55. Inside the cave you will see a little statue

Go there and summon Proselito dell'Abisso

When summoned Proselito dell'Abisso will shout:

Proselito dell'Abisso drops Etere dell'Abisso & Serpente del Sangue di Nazjatar Mount will only drop for the summoner, Aether will drop for all party members (works in raid)
After you used the Aether you can't get it again (quest marker 53477)

Unsolved secret: What does Etere dell'Abisso do?
The use effect will cast a purple explosion animation around your character and knock you down. You character will stand up again.
When you check the spell effect for the "on use" Assorbimento, it comes up with: Effect Complete Quest (53477)
Possible trigger for later event.

Has anyone figured out what happens if you fail to kill it. I went in solo not reading about needing a full group and got smashed. When i revived the boss was not there anymore and i couldnt click anything. The item was also not in my bags anymore.

The wierd thing was the buff is still on me. "Abyssal Residue"

If you get the mount, can you still get the shards as drops? Anyone who has the mount, have you gotten a shard as a drop? I wouldn't see why not but I can't help but wonder.

i want to talk about my exprience which i`m sure you would like to know it :
First : soloing the boss is really i used a 361 iLvl vengence DH and i couldn`t kill the boss ( i still did about 1M health )
for me the boss started at 1.4M for me az a lvl 120 . now lets talk about my exprience
1 - you may wonder what will happen when do leave the area or die . if you die the boss will still wait for you to come back . if you log out of your account or leave the NPC .... don`t worry you won`t lose your progress but instead you will find an small purple orb called void rift at the flame in the cave . you can return when ever you are ready
2 - WM on is a mistake . was doing the boss and a hord player came and killed me and then the boss .. i don`t know if he loothed the aether but i didn`t get anything and the void rift reappeared .. you can kill him this tome for loot . so i suggest you to turn of your WM for this NPC so player of other faction wouldn`t bother you
3 - you can loot abyssal fragments from this boss . i don`t know if its luck or if the boss has a high drop chance but 2 of my group members got an abyssal fragment .

a tips from me is to try this boss as an horde player . if you move the boss to top the quest orc and miners will help you with the boss . i suggest you at least 2 other player . base on my friends exprience you can solo this boss with BM hunter and Blood DK .

This is to inform you that it can be done alone with gear similar to this:
I have soloed this as a BM Hunter,today 19 oct 2018.
My current gear is ilvl 370. I used agility potion,agility flask and Bloodlust
Used a corehound pet to tank the Elite.
Better be safe and take off warmode.

The coordinates for the cave/mine where you summon the Adherent of the Abyss as mentioned in several of the posts below, seem to only work once you are in the mine. So if you are like me, and had trouble finding the entrance to the mine to start with, here are the entrance coordinates:

Mine Entrance
/way Stormsong Valley: 46.46 36.06

Summoning Stone (use these coordinates when inside the mine)
/way 59.36 54.21

Once you get in the mine, take the second left and then drop down behind the quest orc, and the summoning stone will be on your left.

As 25/03/2019, I solo'd it as 394 Veng DH (395/385 weapons), quite easy since my health was above 95% along the fight.
Not sure if i could do it this easy if i were dps, but I doubt it differs. probably same goes if you're 390+

As some predcessors have just staited, I can confirm that it can be soloed:

Did it tooday on my BM Hunter (384 ilvl),

drank flask,
used the rune,
drank potion,
corehound did the raid buff.

additionally some mine NPCs joined the fight.

I was really suprised how easy it went.

I’ve got this with the help from a guildie who was a hunter. As a 395 shadow priest, I can confirm it was looking easily soloable as my health bar didn’t even move to 99%. But didn’t want to risk it at that time and easily duo the elite.

At this point in BFA, abyssal fragments are relatively cheap at AH as well. 20 fragments can be bought between 60-90k in total in my realm.

as blood DK IL411 it took 93 seconds to kill it without my HP ever dropping below 90%, easily soloable

I was just able to solo this on my 374 Frost DK. I was able to get Taskmaster Burlok to attack the aberration that spawns. The aberration will stay if you die, but will reset. However having the mine NPCs attacking it, I was able to keep it low HP while I was dead. I respawned, and killed it. I would definitely bring health pots, buffs, anything to help you out (if you don't have a friend online)

its a joke now. just solo'd at 415 shadow priest lost like 3k hp, just kept pw:s up and tried to kick as many fears as possible.

strange :
i get the mount with one char : all fine

i do it again with another char, but once i'm at abyssal flame, i can't summom the mob, it says "out of reach" when i click the orb in my bag :/

any idea whats wrong?

Soloed on a 457 demon hunter. It's pretty much no challenge at all now.

In my opinion this is the best of the eel mounts. Black and red is a color scheme you just can't go wrong with.

Just solo'd the Adherent easy with a Blood DK in Heroic Ny'alotha gear, so it is still solable in Shadowlands prepatch.

Aside from having a lot of health, this was not difficult to solo with an unholy DK ilvl 189.

Couple of clarifications and updates: in 9.2, the elite summoned has 124k hp. So a very easy fight. Also, the entrance to the mine is at 46,36 in stormsong valley. Not sure why other coords are included in some of the comments.

Just to update for current conditions:

I farmed up these fragments on the AH, summoned the mini boss mob on my lvl 70 BM hunter ilvl 337, and it was a joke. Summoned mob is lvl 50 rare elite and has 221k health. Extremely soloable.

I don't understand why I had to combine info from different places/comments to figure this out but this is how you get this mount:

Go to Org/SW or Valdrakken and head to the Auction House
Search for "Abyssal fragment"
Buy 20 of these
Go to Zuldazar/Boralus
Fly to Stormsong valley or take the boat in the dock if you're in zuldazar
Head to 73.50, 23.61, it's a cave inside of a waterfall
Combine the fragments at the altar (the stone at the end of the cave)
Leave the cave and fly to the saltstone mine at 46.64, 36.23
Make your way down the mine to 58.5, 53.97
There should be another altar there. Click on it or click on the new stone in your inventory
Beat the brakes off the rare spawn that pops out. Collect your shiny mount

Can confirm as of 10/15/23 that ONLY the person who is summoning the NPC with their quest item will receive the mount. We tried today with 2 people in group, both tagged the boss, but only the "summoning person" received the mount. So each person will need to get their own shards for this mount.
