the proc "Sharpened Claws" is around the caster, so the trinket is not useful for ranged except for the stats.

Doesn't proc very often. Accounts for less than 1% of my total damage. A good filler trinket for the primary stat boost, but not worth keeping if something else comes along

This needs to proc on the pet for ranged classes. Beast Mastery Hunters are too often ignored by usage of helpful items and mechanics that require the player get the killing blow or be in melee range.

When this procs as a melee it will pull everything around you, so it's pretty irritating if you just want to kill that one mob.

Possibly the most useless trinket there is. I have this at 300 ilvl and I still can't use it over a 217 or a because the proc is SO weak.

I had a Warforged ilvl 390 version with socket of this trinket on Havoc Demon Hunter.
In LFR it amounted to approx. 2,5% of my total DPS on single target boss and approx 1,9% on aoe fights.

Not the worst trinket to have, especially since it seems to proc right at the beginning of combat; When playing solo it provides a nice burst of instant damage, lowering kill times when farming mobs.
Because of above, I'm slightly hesitant to let go of it in favor of higher ilvl trinket (Fiala della Tempesta Arcana) as it doesn't seem to proc nearly as often, making it less effective outdoors.
