These keys can be found throughout Tol Dagor, often on the shelves above players' heads, on tables, or around support pillars. In total, a single run can have up to approximately 15 key spawns. If in the dungeon long enough, previously claimed spots will even respawn! This is a moot point, however, as all keys in one's bags will be destroyed upon leaving the instance.

They can be used on any of the prison cells (but not the gates) to release the prisoners within. In four separate cells are Horde or Alliance hostages that each provide the entire party with a permanent buff for the remainder of the run once freed.

For Horde players, the hostages and buffs are:
Undead hostage - Infusione: Fermezza
Blood Elf hostage - Infusione: Intelletto
Orc hostage - Infusione: Battaglia
Tauren hostage - Infusione: Saggezza

These buffs stack with player buffs
