This can also drop in LFR and does not require shadow spec to be active.

edit: Coming back to this, I noticed the Claw of N'Zoth is listed as BoP. It was actually a healer who received it and traded it to me in LFR. Was this hotfixed in? Linking the item in game also shows it's BoP so it's not a tooltip error on WoWHead.

For those that already have the hidden appearance, Here's how to track your hidden artifact appearance color variants through achievement progress:

/run AddTrackedAchievement(11152) - Complete 30 dungeons using a hidden artifact appearance. (This achievement does not display correctly)
/run AddTrackedAchievement(11153) - Complete 200 world quests using a hidden artifact appearance.
/run AddTrackedAchievement(11154) - Kill 1,000 players using a hidden artifact appearance.

Check all your hidden artifact appearance progress using this script

Didn't drop for me in LFR, perhaps it's a lower %chance or you simply require normal or higher difficulty. Havent killed him in normal yet with the guild, but maybe this week.

I'd love to get the drop chance % on this. I did 2x LFR and 1x normal Emerald Dream raid and I did not get this drop so far.

My spec was holy with loot spec set to Shadow (but it was confirmed earlier that this wasnt necessary).

Wondering as well if you can constantly repeat LFR in hopes for this dropping (maybe it drops regardless even if you're saved for Il'gynoth?)

I can confirm that the dagger dropped in LFR for a priest with artefact knowledge level 2. I was doing LFR with a friend priest and he got it on his first LFR run with AK2. This happened on 07 October late in the evening.

Ive killed Il'gynoth 9 times (2xLFR 3x Normal, 3x Heroic 1x Mythic) and ive yet to see the drop..
Is there any information on drop rate?
Did people receive this on their first kill?

Dropped for me on Normal Il'gynoth last night while in Holy spec. This was my 4th kill on Normal, as well as 2 kills on LFR.

I just got this now in LFR after going for it for a long time in but lfr, normal and hc.

My 2nd hidden appearance after getting the holy one by chance, only play shadow.

I take everything back I said about other lengthy Artifact skin quests. I got lucky, but being at the mercy of a low probability dice roll is not really a charming proposition!

The Claw dropped for me after 10 attempts in 9.0.2:

3 LFR
3 Normal
2 Heroic
2 Mythic

It dropped on Mythic difficulty. I have three shadow priest characters -- my main (level 60, ilvl 204); a Horde alt (level 53) and my bank alt (level 50). My main could very easily solo all difficulties. My bank alt could do LFR and Normal, and my Horde alt could do LFR, Normal and Heroic. The main issue preventing me from doing more on my alts was the first boss in the raid, Nythendra. She has some ability that instantly kills you when you are alone, so you have to burn her quickly. The alts are not yet able to get past it at all difficulties.

ZIGMER has a comment on this page with scripts to track the achievements to get additional colors, which still work.

My understanding is that I will need to fully unlock the second tint from the 30 dungeons before I am able to unlock the third tint from 200 world quests. However, I am still able to make progress toward the world quest tint at the same time that I work on the dungeon tint. I am getting credit from having the appearance transmogged onto a Shadowlands staff, so you do not need to have the actual artifact equipped.

Regarding the 200 world quests, I am getting credit for Shadowlands, BFA and Legion world quests. Gives a pretty large pool of quests so it looks like this one will get done fairly quickly. However, the 30 dungeons must be Legion dungeons. I am forcing myself to run Darkheart Thicket five times in a row before I move on to some other activity.

Once you get the Claw, you just right click on it in your bag to learn the hidden appearance. You do not need to do anything special like go to your class order hall. You should get the achievement immediately upon doing so, but the appearance may not actually be available for transmog -- if this is the case, just log out and log right back in, then you should be all set.

Hopefully this information is helpful to someone! Maybe it is already widely known, but I did not play when Legion was current so some of this I had to figure out on my own.
