I did kill now over 10k Demons in Faroonar, still no drop.
By now I hate every Hunter wich can buy it by only 8K Gold in Dalaran. For the amount of farming i am doing as a Holy Paladin they should pay at least 5Million Gold for their skin!

I would suggest postponing the farm for this item for now, it appears to not be dropping for anybody. A large number of people on the official forums have confirmed not seeing it after 5-20k+ kills in Faronaar, plus the secret skins that are supposed to drop from finishing the Withered scenario with a specific score are not being awarded either, so i'm assuming either Blizzard is at fault here or they're purposely time-gating the acquisition of it somehow, but not with finishing class hall campaign as many players have done the farm after the campaign is complete.

I understand that you're looking for information regarding one of the hidden appearances for your artifact. While things did indeed drop differently in Beta, that is indeed the point of Beta, to test things.

WoWhead's information is most likely incorrect, hidden appearances have their own methods of being unlocked, they do not simply drop.

I'm sad to say due to the hidden nature of this item, I am not able to provide hints as to how to acquire it.

I will however wish you the best of luck in your search.

Unfortunately I can't post on the US-forums, so I thought I'd try my luck here.

I might have found a clue in the german client:

All watchers, like Tyr and Odyn, are called "Hüter" in german. The translation of the Item is "Verlorene Edikte des Behüters" and the isle of watchers is translated to "Insel der Behüter", which heavily implies that it has something to do with the isle rather than the watchers like Tyr.

While this might be a translation mistake it could also help us narrowing down the origin of the item.

Since in vanilla there was a couple of quest you could only find as ghost relative to a dead watcher perhaps? Also ontop of the small island in stormheim at ghost there is a watcher house and grave with watcher equipment? relative to question? ^^ if all start sharing their finds and thoughts maybe we can find this soon ^^:)

This post is no longer relevant, but I'm leaving it here cause I put in some serious work trying to figure this out... only to find out it was really a random drop that was gated behind level 5 Artifact Research... sooo much wasted time...

Attaining this artifact appearance has become my white wale. While I cannot post on the US forums I'll add what I can here.

I've scoured Faronar for anything of interest, finding only disappointment. It would seem highly unlikely that it would be a totally random mob drop out in the world and I think we can put that idea to rest since I think everyone, including myself, have collectively killed millions of demons around Faronar. Additionally I've searched every inch of the waters surrounding Faronar and I've not found anything there apart from some shipwrecks and a few rocks that aren't on the map.

So where does that leave us? Speculation only I'm afraid. So let me share with you what I've been up to this past week. Much of this may be conjecture, but after learning about the Corrupted Ashbringer appearance I'm not putting any idea down, no matter how convoluted it may seem.

What we know for sure is that this item is a homage to Reinhardt from Overwatch and that the flavor text certainly echoes the Warden's philosophy from Warcraft and some of Overwatch's philosophy.

Reinhardt

He's a character from Overwatch portrayed as a paragon of truth, justice and valor. But that much is obvious, what else do we know? Well in Blizzard's short comic story about Reinhardt, Dragon Slayer, we get a few clues that I've been following up on.

First: The comic is focused on a group called The Dragons whose logo very closely resembles the Vyrkul's in Northrend around Utgarde Keep. A coincidence perhaps, but I checked it out regardless. Unfortunately I found nothing after scouring the entire zone. I had assumed that because of the similar logos and the fact that these Vyrkul ride dragons that I might find some clue. Alas I found nothing both inside the Keep, its instances, the surrounding villages and the catacombs beneath the Keep.

Second: The comic makes mention of two supporting characters; Brigitte and Hanna. Both of these names appear inside World of Warcraft. Brigitte is a Nightborne child in Suramar with nothing particularly special about her. The name Hannah belongs to multiple characters in Warcraft, none of whom appear significant. I had assumed that since the character Brigitte in the comic was Reinhardt's mechanic she would have been instrumental to perhaps finding his hammer, but alas this doesn't appear to be the case as I can't find another character in Warcraft who could match the one from the comic.

Third: In the comic the character Hanna has a toy lion she carries around and is eventually fixed by Hanna. This could of course simply be some symbolism of Reinhardt's character as a "lion heart". However, if we transpose this into Warcraft we can relate the lion to the Kingdoms of Stormwind and Lordaeron, both of which have lions in their crests. Following on from that train of thought both kingdoms followed the Church of the Light and acknowledged the Order of the Silver Hand, so it might stand to reason that it could relate to the hidden appearance. I've searched for some kind of toy lion all around both zones, but found nothing. It is possible that a toy lion could be elsewhere in Azeroth, but I've not found it. It may be a clue, or I'm probably just overthinking a minor detail.

The Wardens

Now this one may not quite as far fetched as the others. The Isle of the Watchers is a difficult place to explore properly without a group helping you along. As it stands right now the zone appears to be a piece of content for a later patch. But that doesn't stop us from looking around. As was mentioned in another post here there are a number of owl statues around the Isle that appear interact-able but can't be used at this point. This, as mentioned before, may be for some Warden's quest later in the expansion. Aside from the statues there doesn't appear to be much else aside from some World Quests for the Wardens. There are some towers controlled by Felsworn Demon Hunters, but there doesn't appear to be anything of interest inside those towers right now. I have searched the waters around the Isle also and found nothing aside from a variety of cool shipwrecks, some suspicious rocks that weren't on the map, and the pearls that everyone else already posted about on reddit.

In my own personal opinion I think that the appearance would be most likely to come from the Isle of Watchers, but like I said after learning about the convoluted steps to getting the Corrupted Ashbringer appearance I could totally be wrong. Regardless, right now no-one knows where this appearance drops from, but this is what I've "found" so far. I think the item certainly exists in-game, but it may be impossible to attain until a later point in the expansion, which is a shame, similar to the other classes hidden appearances that drop from the Emerald Nightmare raid. So it wouldn't be out of place to assume that this appearance drops from the Nighthold Raid.

As an update I've spent the past few hours on the Isle of the Watchers trying to figure out the owl statues. They appear to have a specific order, with each giving a random buff. Some that I've found grant +X% crit chance, a stasis field and 90% damage reduction. Here are the locations from a poster on reddit:

There are 9 in total. I've managed to click them all but nothing's happened yet. Perhaps it's on a timer. Right so as a further update I managed to click all the statues and nothing happens. The statue will stay active for 3 minutes each if you're wondering.

I'm officially out of ideas and trying to get this appearance is by far the most frustrating thing I've encountered.

Let's look at what we know:

1. This item rewards the Watcher's Armament skin for the Silver Hand. That makes it the LAST item we need to acquire to unlock the skin.
2. As far as we know, there are no items/quests leading up to unlocking this item, meaning it is likely a direct drop or inside a container.
3. In beta, this item dropped directly from demons in Faronaar. It is unknown if it required a certain level of Artifact Knowledge for this to happen.
4. It is confirmed that several other hidden artifact appearances are gated behind Artifact Knowledge, and it is possible that this is as well.
5. The skin that this unlocks is based on Reinhardt's hammer from Overwatch. The flavor text is a direct reference to a Reinhardt comic strip. We don't know if this is a clue or just a reference.

Based on all of that, I believe the simplest explanation is the right one. I think the item DOES still drop from demons in Faronaar, just like in the beta. However I believe it is locked behind a certain level of Artifact Knowledge or some other prerequisite.

Would it be possible to have anyone who unlocked this skin on beta chime in and tell us what their Artifact Knowledge level was when they got the drop? Or at least their current AK level? If anyone got it to drop before level 4, then we know the method for obtaining it has changed since someone would've gotten it on live by now. If everyone who acquired it had a rather high AK level, then it is very possible that it still drops the same way as in beta, but is timegated behind AK.

I just found it on live server!
I finished Artifact Knowledge 5 this morning and after hearing about all the hidden skins being gated at AK5 i spend about 2 hours of killing demons in faronaar and indeed found the Lost Edicts of the Watcher!

I have literally just this minute acquired this on my Paladin, Morieshal-Twisting Nether in EU servers. I picked up my artifact research notes for level 5 earlier today, and then the first demon I killed in Ashzara, Blargemal, dropped this item for me. I know that a warrior friend of mine could access his prot artifact hidden appearance after he picked up his level 5 research yesterday, so I believe this is why people who farmed for it never got it. I can confirm that it drops in Ashzara, and seems to be tied to artifact research level 5. I don't know if I was lucky or not, and its still a random drop chance, but I am sure glad as hell that I have it, only the corrupted ashbringer to go now!

I reached AK5 tonight. Item dropped for me while killing demons around 32, 54 in Faronaar, Azuna. Took about 15 minutes before it dropped off a random mob of mixed demons (not rares).

Obtained this from a pack of Soulreavers and Eredar Soulmages in Faronaar, Azsuna. Obtained in Retribution with Holy loot specialization. Some people are asking about the Illidan quest-line that progresses with the Artifact Knowledge. I was on Ravencrest's Legacy, which I believe is the AK3 quest, when I obtained my artifact, however I was AK5.

I just acquired this appearance on my paladin after getting AK 5. Here are a few facts to help anyone out there if they're looking for this in the future.

Had artifact knowledge 5
Had not completed the garrison quest that unlocks on artifact knowledge 5
Farmed Demons/Eredara all around the Soul Engine: Apocalypse for ~6 hours as Protection but with loot spec Holy

Finally got it to drop after 5hrs of farming the Eredar Soulmages in Faronar at the Soul Engine: Apocalypse.

Farmed as Prot with loot spec set to Holy.
My AK is at level 5 and I had completed both the Illidan quests that unlock with level 5, but I don't think this is related as per other comments.

Dropped for me after 1 hour 40 minutes of farming, off one of those Eredar Soulmages in Faronar at the Soul Engine: Apocalypse (believe that any demon there can drop the Lost Edicts, since a mate got his off an imp there).

Had Artifact Knowledge level 5. Did it in Retribution spec, ilvl 855, with loot spec set to Holy & Lothraxion (the Holy Dreadlord) as my bodyguard. Found it faster to farm with Retribution as Ashbringer has the ability at random to instantly vaporize the mob into ashes, compared to Protection spec.

Just mass pull & if you have Echo of the Highlord trait on your Ashbringer with Greater Judgement + Divine Purpose talents, the pack usually goes down in seconds.

2 of them were on holy spec
1 was retry spec
i was on tank spec
we all had our loot set to holy.

Got it 30 minutes ago from a demon in the soul engine area ( couldnt tell you which mob because i mass pulled) in ret spec set to holy, took me 10 hours roughly. My AK 5 finished last night.

Took me way longer then i excpected, but oh well atleast i found 12 mana tinged packs while farming :O

Just a quick question, when you use divine shield with the hidden artifact you get a small Rheinhardt shield infront of your bubble.

It worked for me the first time i did it, but ever since then when i use divine shield i only get the normal bubble and the shield does not pop up infront anymore.

Anyone else with that problem ?

Just dropped for me in Soul Engine: Apocalypse. I was in prot spec with loot on holy.
I found a group on pre-made dungeon, farming it already in faronaar. I believe it's much quicker and with more kills you get better chance on it to drop. Fun fact, i got it after 10 minutes of farming.
What is also interesting, we farmed mostly mages there with occasional soulreaver that gets aggroed by chance. Might be coincidence but i heard from couple of players that they also farmed only mages.

I farmed Soul: Engine Apocalypse and targeted Eredar mages with prejudice after reading comments here about how they are the ones who seem to drop it the most.

They were right.

It dropped after an hour of straight-up farming them. Artifact Knowledge 5 as Prot spec with Prot loot spec. No Holy needed.

Got the red reskin today! 1000 player kills while using the hidden appearance. Can confirm, it only has to be honorable kills, you do not need killing blows at all. So healing combatants will net you the kills. I queued BGs for a few hours over two days. AV was excellent for the kills.

Farmed in Faronaar (Azsuna). Took approximately 6 hours but was able to finally get the artifact to drop! Best way is to farm around the Soul Engine that the previous post for "Ohdamn" mentioned.

Confirming here that it dropped for me after farming Eredar Soulmages.... although I spent a solid ~10hours farming between 4 days. So don't lose hope seeing all these others getting it in ~1hr or so :) KEEP ON FARMING. I tried a few hours in each spec, with different specializations. Ended up getting it in Ret spec w/ holy specialization. I had Vindicator Boros with me to help tank.

AK6, didn't finish AK5 quests, ilvl 850, haven't finished Nightfallen quests.

Just logged on into New Dalaran City and saw a demon on my map at 27.24, 63.77.
It was a Shadowgore Darkcaster kneeling over the body of Desmond Gravesorrow. I attacked the demon and he summoned a fel hound. He only took a couple of hits. Upon looting his body Lost Edicts of the Watcher dropped!
This could be insane coincidence or possibly he has a higher chance to drop it?

Joined a group I found while looking for a Withered Jim group on impulse and got it about 2-5 minutes on my draenei paladin (AK6) - much to the dismay and squealing of the other paladin x_x I kinda felt horrible I got it when she/he had been there farming for 8+ hours. I was not the first person to join the group and get it while they were doing it either. No such luck on my blood elf (AK7) so far. Really hope that other paladin finally got theirs :c

Edit: Got it up near the Tivos rarespawn in the spoopy spaceship. Was busy being sad about the other paladin and forgot that part. Relatively sure it dropped off a navigator but they were mass slaying mobs so I'm not 100%.

Got it today after 1 hour farm in The Soulrender. Trash spawns very fast and they're all melee. Make a group and have each player stand in a room to tag them and stack them in the middle for faster kills. Inquisitor Tivos is in this ship but it shouldnt be a problem since he doesnt aggro when you pull the 2 adds beside him.
My spec was prot but i had loot spec set as holy, many people say it doesnt matter, but i didnt want to risk it.

Got it on Blargemal. I'm palprot, with palprot loot option (forced option). I got it at first try, and I didn't look for this loot : just here for inscription quest... Amazing...

Got it after the 3rd Soulmage kill, I only decided to come try get holy skin after I had received my hidden skin for my prot spec, which took me a long time to get. Luckily I got both same day so I was pretty stoked. Also, received my legendary the day before <3

The drop rate seems to be quite high because my RNG is usually awful with drops, got it within 10 kills, don't be lazy, just go there, kill some Eredar Soulmages. Although I'm not sure having your loot spec Holy might be important, good luck!

Just looted it myself in the Legion ship where Tivos is. All together, I think I spent about 7 hours farming. ... Not in a single day, mind you.

I was in Ret spec with my loot set to Ret - so it definitely does NOT require players to be in Holy spec to get it.

Just don't be discouraged by all the 2-hour drop comments if you go past that mark. The drop rate isn't that great (or maybe I was just unlucky).

Took me about 4.5 - 5 hours total farming. I'm stubborn as hell, so I did this all in one sitting.

Dropped from a Soulmage in the Soul Engine: Apocalypse complex in Faronaar. I'd recommend you go Ret or bring a friend along to help you get your drop. I don't think it matters what loot spec you have, but I was playing Holy with Holy as my loot setting.

Just don't give up, it'll drop eventually!

Took a while, probably after +500 Eredar mage kills, I finaly managed to get my hands on this sweet artifact skin. The reason I wanted it even more, is that it's an reference to Reinhardt's hammer from Overwatch.

The method I used to kill as many as fast as possible, was to make a group, in group finder, in the section of Costume. That way you can bring down more Eredars faster and in a wider area. Good luck getting this awesome skin!

I've just had this drop for me in Soul Engine: Apocalypse (Aszuna). I was in retribution, and loot spec was also in retribution. Don't know from which mob it dropped from cause I pulled quite a few. Also, I wasn't even aware of this. I was simply doing the world quest in the area. Didn't try to farm. Though I was AK10 already at this point

Dropped yesterday for me, on a Eredar Soulmage in the Soul Engine doing the WQ.

About 60h of farming (2-3h per day) in Holy/Holy spec (thanks to the crit buff form the felforges, you can kill the Eredars really quickly with it).

Finally...

And now, dungeons, WQ and battlegrounds farming for the other colors... T_T

Since hitting AK5, I've farmed for it in the Soul Engine for a total of 5 hours on spread out on different days. I was at AK7 when it finally dropped a few hours ago.

However, when I did get this, I literally just arrived in the Soul Engine and got it immediately on the first kill. That's basically only 2 minutes of those five hours. This leads me to believe that there are probably other hidden requirements other than the AK level for this to drop since I've done a lot of things in between the last time I farmed for it and from when it dropped.

Whether those are dungeon runs or an item level increase, I can't really say. I may have just been really lucky this time around.

In any case, like all those other folks that have also commented; don't give up! Disbarring any other possible requirements, you'll get it eventually. Just don't go killing yourself farming this in a single session.

After reading comments listed here I decided to throw some time into getting the appearance, as I love me some reinhardt action in Overwatch. Couple of things I'll add to hopefully give others a better idea of what to do or to clear up any hesitations.

Just reached AK5 today. In holy spec, with holy loot specialization. Farmed a total of 3 hours, with about 1 hour spent @ Soul Forge: Apocalypse(I farmed near the entrance to faronaar the rest of the time but decided to change it up after a few hours). My evidence is anecdotal at best, it may just be confirmation bias, but the soulmages do seem to have a higher than normal drop rate.

I did no special prep work, I didn't click on the artifact research book or anything like that. Simply hit AK5 and farmed some demons. Hope this helps!

After around 4 hours and 987 kills split between Soul Forge: Apocalypse and The Soulrender, this dropped for me from an Eredar Soulmage in Soul Forge: Apocalypse.

I'm not sure if it's related, but I started farming before populating the relic slots of all 3 artifact weapons. Shortly after filling all of the relic slots, this dropped. More than likely, that's just a coincidence, but I figured it was worth mentioning.

Started to feel really disinterested and skeptical, but finally it just dropped from an Eredar Soulmage from the middle of the forge. Happy day!

Now to go back to fishing for that darn shard...

It dropped for me from Arkethrax. I was not farming for it, I was just doing Visitatori indesiderati in protection spec. I didn't even have loot as holy, so I guess holy loot is not required for the drop.
It appears that it can drop from any demon in Azsuna, but most drops seem to come in Faronaar because people are farming demons in there.

Got this today in Highmountain by Blind Marshlands, with loot set to current spec (Tank) in Tank mode... I don't even play as Holy. I don't have any Int specific gear, but I got this. Can't get the stuff I need for my actual specs though. Frustrating.

FYI - apparently this will drop from demons in Highmountain as well. I was in Feltotem killing demon Tauren in Highmountain for WQ "The Feltotem" and received this as a drop from a Feltotem Warmonger.

Just got it this morning as soon as I hit AK5 with my pally. Killed demons at faronaar like 5 minutes and voila! For me and some of my friends, it's one of the esiest hidden appearances to get in game.

Dropped in Faronaar after 1 hour and 20 minutes of circling the Soul Engine (World Quest area). Spec'd Ret, Loot Holy. For maximum farming efficiency, I recommend using Ret for the Ashbringer vaporizing proc chance and the excellent AoE of Wake of Ashes/Divine Storm. Eat some Fighter Chow to remove any downtime and you are set to clock in maximum demon kills per hour. Also, make sure you have your shoulders enchanted, you'll be killing a lot of mobs!

As a side note, you need to be in the Holy specialization to 'activate' this item once you acquire it.

I've been farming this skin for about an hour or two each day for the past week.

I've farmed the Eredar Soulmages at the Soul Forge. I've farmed Blargemal, Arkethrax, even killed the demons/Eredar out in Highmountain... Nothing.

I got my Prot and Ret skin rather quickly. I guess RNGsus is making me pay for having good luck on the first 2.

Quick Tip: If you don't care about getting it asap. Then wait for the WQ "Not on my watch" (by the soul engine) to spawn. Host a group and put auto-invite. And as people join and kill mobs for the world quest you can go loot their kills while you farm a few yards away from the center of the soul engine. You will be helping them anyways because the mobs needed are also on the outside.

I got it today by killing stuff around the soul engine while world quest group finder got people to kill more inside of it. I then would loot inside of it every 5 min and when I got it after 30 min of farming it was on a mob I didn't contribute to killing.

Dedicated myself to grinding this sucker out, so, I dedicated 2.5 hour blocks of grinding in Faronaar, at the Soul Engine. Collectively, I killed ~580 demons, over two days, for a total of 5 hours of grinding. It dropped off of an Eredar Soulmage in that second level above the Soul Engine's center point. I was in a party with another paladin when it happened. I was Ret in Holy loot specialization.

FYI: I was uncertain that if I was in a party with another paladin, it would/wouldn't drop. IT CAN DROP, but only I was able to see it and loot it. Therefore, definitely find other pallys that are interested in getting this appearance. It's a pain to farm, but, with several of you, you are all increasing each other's odds.

EDIT: I'm certain many of you who will read this will know this, but - YOU MUST HAVE ARTIFACT KNOWLEDGE LEVEL 5 TO EVEN PICK THIS THING UP.

I'd like to share my little story about how I got the Holy Paladin's hidden appearance. Keep in mind I'm telling you this just so you don't lose hope!
I was just recently told about how to get HPally's hidden appearance... so I decided to give it a shot! I farmed it for 15 minutes, with no luck at all. Meanwhile, a paladin from my guild was saying in guild chat how bored he was.
I decided to invite him to my little farm... Why not? Well, the lucky bastard got it in 5 minutes. The idea was that we'd roll for it... But, well, he didn't. He just took it and said... "Oh, I'll help you farm yours. Let's go".
Then we farmed together for roughly 30 minutes. He told me he was also watching TV, so he wouldn't be able to farm for me efficiently. I told him he could just go away and I'd farm alone. He said no. But, after a while, he gave up. It was already 4AM for me, mid-night for him. That night, I farmed for more 30 minutes.
Every day, I farmed for about 1 hour for 2 days. Then...
01/12/2017, a friend tried to invite me for a party, but I was too busy at the gym. Since I couldn't go to said party, I'd spend my whole night playing. Without help, I farmed for more 1 hour.
01/13/2017, tick, tock, tick, tock... 2:30AM. I had farmed for 2 hours and a half since mid-night, TOTALLY NON-STOP. I had to get it. Casually, I stumbled upon a Gnome Warlock... He was just standing there, doing nothing. (No, he wasn't a Demonology Warlock farming his artifact... Not when I saw him, atleast). When he saw me, he started clearing the area in Faronaar I was farming. Coincidence or not... I tried to invite him to my group. He didn't accept. We both kept farming, he killed most mobs in seconds. In 30 minutes, the D8MN HIDDEN APPEARANCE DROPPED. When he saw it in chat, I guess, he hearthstone'd out... And I never saw that Warlock again.

TL;DR: It still drops as of 01/13/17. Never lose hope, even if you farmed it for hours and hours without end! Even if it took, what, 5-6 hours, like it did for me. You're a paladin, never lose your faith. Good luck on your farm!

For those of you (like me) that have been farming forever. It is EXTREMELY useful to partially finish Vindicator Boros' questline in the area, the companion that follows you around hits EXTREMELY hard and buffs you with a very nice 30% haste "cleanse" and makes farming the soul engine an absolute breeze.

If you get bored of running around the soul engine, you can try farming the three Supplicante Eredars at /way Azsuna 38 58 Legion Camp: Ruin during the world quest Faronaar in Rovina. They are at least under 30 yards away from each other, since I was able to Judgment either of the other two from each spawn. They respawn ridiculously fast since a recent hotfix, especially when a ton of people are there. I got mine to drop from them after only ~15 minutes of farming, while still on the quest. The longest I had to wait for at least one to respawn was 8 seconds. I was Ret with Holy loot spec.

Been farming this damn skin since I got AK 5 shortly after Legion launch. I have farmed several spots from player suggestions in these comments. Collectively spent over 40 hours farming before getting it to drop during world quest at Soul Engine: Apocalypse.

I really wish that Blizzard would have done a quest for this skin instead of RNG drop.

Call me unlucky but i got my drop today, it has literally taken weeks, and about a week ago i downloaded an addon to start a count of kills. not counting the weeks i missed count, i killed over 5k demonmobs for this, mostly eredar soulmages.

The look is deffintly worth it nd it really stands out.

Looted this on Sunday, February 12th.

I was farming in between PVP ques in Faronaar. I was Retribution Spec with loot set to Current: Retribution. Artifact Knowledge is 25. I was using Corrupted Ashbringer skin and had Vindicator Boros as an ally.

Not sure which Mob actually dropped it but I was on the second floor of Soul Engine: Apocalypse (The big Structure in the middle) and had pulled the group to the right that consisted of Eredar Soulmages and a Soul Reaver.

I had been making the loop around the structure and inside on and off for a couple of days. Probably between 4 and 5 hours total. I only killed Soulmages,Soulreavers, and the Felsmiths.

I assume loot specialization isnt vital, cause got this from random mob in aszuna (near demons; wq to kill 10 and clear 4 crystals, in spire) and was as prot spec and loot spec was also as prot (current). it just drops randomly for offspec aswell - its my opinion. cant say im pleased with the look but... w/e cause not gona go holy cause of that bigger hammer :D

Farmed mobs in Soul Engine: Apocalypse within Azsuna for about 25min and received this. It dropped after I killed 4 mobs upstairs, 3 mages and 1 felguard. I did this as an 820 ret paladin with holy loot spec. Be sure to utilize the little forges, they give you 25% crit for 60 sec! I got lucky this time, but I gotta say I'm glad I stayed for 10 more min because I was about to leave. Good luck all!

While dropping I was in Paladin tank Specialization and my loot spec was also tank.
I recommend using tank spec since it makes everything extremly easy, just pull many mobs, us Consecrated Ground, GG

Got mine to drop off of Erredar Souleaters, underneath the legion ship, after the first group of them that I killed. If you're fighting all 4 have cool downs and interrupts ready, they hurt even at 911 ilvl. Was using Ret spec with loot set to holy.

After spending a couple hours farming Soulmages, I decided to chance going to Deadwind Pass. Wowhead gave a droprate of 0.2% for the Eredar Portal-Keepers so I thought I'd give it a go. I took the portal in the central Dalaran chamber. The entrance for the cellar is 48,78. Lo and behold, Lost Edicts dropped on my fifth Keeper kill!

In Patch 7.3, this drops from demons on Argus. I was completing WQs in Atoran Wastes and it dropped while I was Ret with Holy loot spec. Farmed Faronaar for over 3 hours with no luck 2 weeks ago and forgot I even had my loot spec set up for it >.<

Note: I'm not sure exactly which demon dropped it, as I had a whole gaggle of them around me to loot after killing a rare elite.

This just dropped for me for a random demon on Argus, from an Scagliavile Antoran to be exact. With the amount of demons on Argus, the new campaign, and the world quests, I imagine it'll make the farming a lot faster. Or at least smoother, as you work towards other goals.

I've been killing a couple of demons on Argus. Now. I've unlocked my holy artefact appearance for some time. SOMEHOW, in Nath'raxas hold, after i tried to loot a chest that disappeared, i got 2 back to back . I could loot only one since it's unique. I used it, and saw the animation. I could then loot the second one, and see the animation.
This seems a bit wonky and i submitted a bug report on it.
Btw, i was in Ret spec.

The summarize a number of other anecdotes posted here, it appears that this can drop off any demon on Argus. It does not matter which spec you are currently in. Combined with the drop rate buffs in 7.3, it's much easier to farm/have accidentally drop when you weren't even trying to farm it.

I honestly didn’t really check where to get this appearance. I made it to Argus today on my paladin after hitting 110 and maxing my artifact in retribution spec. The first area where you get teleported down and have to kill demons is where I dropped for me. In Krokuun, left of the Krokuun Hovel.

Dropped for me after killing an Eredar Summoner at the Garrison of the Fel on the Broken Shore. Looks like it is either an Eredar drop or just a demon drop.

i was killing eredar soulmages and soulreavers in upper faronaar for about 15 minutes, then decided to kill the four eredar souleaters channeling the portal under the ship, and they dropped it right away.

This dropped for me from the trash mobs before Portal Keeper in Antorus on normal difficulty. I was in Protection loot spec when it dropped.

Drop chance seems to be extremely high from Argus mobs. Both my Paladins got it while doing the intro quests, quickly enough that I had not yet encountered Alleria on either of them.

I farmed for this item for just 5 minutes and I killed only Eredar Soulmages in Azsuna :)

I started doing the Argus Story Campaign and I got to quest number 15 (Prisoners No More) in like 30 min.

I was killing demons left and right for those 15 quests and finally got the drop off a Annihilan Fanatic in Krokuun.

So happy I can swing my own Rocket Hammer.

Still dropping in BFA. Received it after running my Ret pally (Holy loot spec) through the Order Hall Class quests (Allies of the Light and The Mind of the Enemy) in Niskara.

Had unlocked my holy paladin artifact (I suppose it's necessary seeing as it's an appearance for it)
Dropped from: Eredar or any other demons
Where? Easy to farm in Argus > Krokuun > Annihean pits (57.0 - 52.6) (north of Korkul Hovel)
How long? Not sure if I was lucky, but it only took me 5 minutes or so. At max level you can easily gather a ton of mobs and aoe them down.

9.0.1 got it to drop from demons in Faronaar while farming for the Arcane Bindings need in the Twisted Power quest, took 5-10 mins. GOOD LUCK!

I just looted this from an Eredar Overseer on Broken Shore while on the paladin campaign quest "Ending the Crescent Curse." I hadn't even started trying to get hidden artifact appearances on this character yet, so I was pleasantly surprised.

As of patch 9.1, farming the Eredar Soulmages is the fastest way. COmplete the campaign to get the Silver Hand artifact weapon and get to killing Soulmages. I killed less than 10 of them and got it to drop!

just dropped for me while doing legion invasion as prot with ret loot, so you dont need to be holy anymore to drop

Equipped the Silver Hand, set loot spec to Holy (Not sure if either of those is necessary, but whatever). Killed Eredar Soul Mages in Faronaar for about 15 minutes. Got the drop after about 50-60 kills.

In order to apply this appearance to Mano d'Argento you have to be in Holy Spec.

I just made an account to tell everyone farming this in 10.0.5 Dragonflight to give up. I am utterly convinced this item does not exist after 3 hours of farming and i give up.

I just got this as a drop, decided to look up the mob I killed, was a 1 in 10k drop. I got this on my first KC of Eredar Overseer.

Have been farming this in BFA without luck and gave up on continuing after about 2 hours of grinding in Faronaar.

Started doing it again in DF, but this time from Krokuun in Argus, for about 20 minutes. After about 250 kills I realized that I only unlocked prot artifact weapon and that might be the reason why it never dropped. I then spent 20 minutes unlocking the holy artifact weapon (given by Lord Maxwell Tyrosus in the order hall) and went back to Krokuun. The first pack I killed dropped the artifact skin.

What I learned along the way:
1. There is no longer an "Artifact level", the requirement is no longer applicable as they did changes to the artifact weapon post-expansion.
2. Seems like you are required to have unlocked the weapon for the specific spec to have it drop.
3. You don't need to equip anything, be in a specific spec, or change any loot spec to have it drop.
4. After acquiring the artifact skin, you will need to switch to holy to be able to use the item.

These rules might also apply to other artifact weapons across other classes.
