Can this drop for a hunter not in SV spec?
After some looking around. YES you can have (at least this appearance) drop while not in Survival spec.

This dropped in our guild's normal clear of Ursoc this week where we completed the achievement for the boss (don't know if that has any affect on whether it drops or not). We used master loot and oddly enough it had to be awarded via the master looter despite having eligible hunters in the raid, all of whom were Marksmanship. We also did happen to have a survival hunter with us but they were ineligible to loot it as they had already killed Ursoc earlier in the week. Can't really say if having a survival hunter is a factor to whether it drops or not as we had killed heroic Ursoc the night before (without a survival hunter) and received no drop. My guess is that it's a random piece of loot that has a chance to drop every kill.

Posted a screenshot of the weapon appearance since there appeared to not be any others.

This dropped for me today while I was Beast Mastery in my guild's Normal run of Ursoc, fortunately I main survival so I was quite happy! I did have my loot specialization set to survival just in case, but I'm not sure if it made a difference or not.

For those that already have the hidden appearance, Here's how to track your hidden artifact appearance color variants through achievement progress:

/run AddTrackedAchievement(11152) - Complete 30 dungeons using a hidden artifact appearance. (This achievement does not display correctly)
/run AddTrackedAchievement(11153) - Complete 200 world quests using a hidden artifact appearance.
/run AddTrackedAchievement(11154) - Kill 1,000 players using a hidden artifact appearance.

Check all your hidden artifact appearance progress using this script

Just confirmed that this can drop for you as Marksman spec while in Looking For Raid (LFR) difficulty as it dropped for me today while doing a LFR run as MM.

I don't remember getting this as a drop but somehow I have it unlock but only the last 2 colors are unlocked for me, some kind of bug im assuming.

If almost every Hidden apperance collect either through a vendor or mobs where it is preactically 100% drop rate. Why are ones like this and the Druid Guardian that drops off Ursoc such a low rate? I have run EN almost every week since its release on Normal and LFR and have never seen it drop. Not just for me but for no one in the group. Is it just me or does this seem a little unfair? Especially since the other 2 for the hunter spec can be bought from quatermasters once you are at the respective faction status.

in the long tradition of SV hunters getting shafted this takes the cake. MM can buy their appearance for a few thousand gold once they hit 110 and have the rep for it. BM can buy theirs at 100 for 8000g/6400g. SV needs to run hundreds of raids to maybe see their hidden appearance.

Me and another hunter from my guild got this appearance on the same kill, so the drop may be related to the actual kill in that instance rather then personal loot luck. Might be a coincidence to receive the skin on two chars on the same kill, but if it is, it's a rather huge one.

Theory time!

My hunter's seen this drop for other hunters off Ursoc in LFR, but never for her. It's enough to make me consider alternative methods. Who knows? There may be another method of finding this thing!

It's a long shot, but my thoughts go to Grizzly Hills. It's not as simple as talking to Ursoc's children or visiting his den (tried it already), but maybe the furbolgs in Grizzlemaw or near Ursoc's kids may drop it? It's the only other place I can think of with a strong connection to Ursoc himself. So, I'm putting it out there - if anyone is bored/crazy/desperate enough to try this and feels like sharing their results, please do. Again, it might be a long shot, but if I'm right, we might just find something new.

I have recently acquired this hidden appearance for my Talonclaw...

But I can't find it in my wardrobe and can't xmog it. If i select "Artifact Weapon" from the xmog menu, I only get the "regular" and "enhanced" Talonclaw appearances, not this hidden one. I have changed the Talonclaw appearance at the Hunter Lodge, and have equipped the Talonclaw with the new look. But still I can't find it from the xmog menu.

Any clue?

Does anyone know if they buffed the drop chance for this? I did all difficulties this week from LFR to Mythic and it didn't drop for me :/

It's mighty strange. After obtaining SV artifact it dropped in LFR just the first time, it also happened as i farm guardian druid appearance. Is it really i'm extremely lucky or this drop rate accounts those attempts without having artifact weapon?

No, you need neither to be in Survival, nor Survival loot spec.

I got this as BM, with BM loot spec.

Something that hasn't been explicitly mentioned here: this item has a chance to drop on each difficulty, even if you have already done Ursoc on another difficulty this week - at least I can confirm for the Mistweaver Monk item Soffio della Serpe Immortale, an equivalent in that it can drop from Dragons of Nightmare: I did the raid, in order, on LFR, Normal, Heroic, and Mythic, and got this item on the Mythic run.
