Drops from the Distorsione Fatua bosses in the Fel Hammer, got mine today after killing Mordrethal

You have to have researched the Twisting Nether ability in your Class Hall Upgrades to be able to access bosses, after completing the reseach there will now be a Sanctum Crystal spawned next to Loramus Thalipedes that teleports you to the bottom of the Fel Hammer where you can interact with a Fel Tome in order to spawn a boss

Does anyone know if you can just keep killing the bosses for the chance? You cant spawn them more than once a day, but if someone else spawns it.. you can kill the boss.

This is one of the items available if you pick the Distorsione Fatua Order Hall Advancement.

Enter the Twisting Nether Portal once a day, located just to the right of Loramus Thalipedes in the Fel Hammer, in which there are demons who drop a variety of items:

Baluardo della Custode di Ferro which unlocks the Iron Warden artifact appearance for Vengeance Demon Hunters.
Fiamma dell'Anima del Rinvigorimento: increases healing by 50%
Fiamma dell'Anima del Castigo: Your damaging spells and abilities will periodically deal 500 Shadowflame damage to an enemy target.
Fiamma dell'Anima della Fortificazione: Increases your maximum health by 25%.
Fiamma dell'Anima della Consapevolezza: Increases the damage dealt by Eye Beam by 50% and reduces the cooldown of Eye Beam by 50%.

Just finished doing this boss SOLO. Level 110 Vengeance spec. Ilvl 807 with 2.1m health. It honestly wasnt that hard to do. Just needed the right talents and the heirloom shield trinket. Avoid his breath, pop cooldowns for his aoe and you should have no problem burning him down. He dropped Soul Flame of Fortification. Gives you 25% health for 60 minutes. Better luck tomorrow

Just confirming this, but I was in Havoc spec (DPS) and received this. However, I did complete my Vengeance artifact quest. I am not sure if that is required.

Dropped for me 9/9/16 on Tichondrius

Some things I had done at the time include completing my class hall campaign and both artifact weapons unlocked. I did not summon him but joined the fight that was already going on. Also I was in Havoc spec with loot on Havoc.

when does the loot allowance reset? 24 hours after you kill this or at the same time as heroics reset (8 or 9 o'clock) i killed this boss today without having fought it yesterday & i still wasn't allowed to loot

For those that already have the hidden appearance, Here's how to track your hidden artifact appearance color variants through achievement progress:

/run AddTrackedAchievement(11152) - Complete 30 dungeons using a hidden artifact appearance. (This achievement does not display correctly)
/run AddTrackedAchievement(11153) - Complete 200 world quests using a hidden artifact appearance.
/run AddTrackedAchievement(11154) - Kill 1,000 players using a hidden artifact appearance.

Check all your hidden artifact appearance progress using this script

Unsure if this is intended or not. I have never received Bulwark from a drop, however when I unlocked the second color appearance on the Havoc hidden artifact, I got those two colors available on the Bulwark. However, the green tint isn't available. Very strange, but I'm not complaining.

Does anyone know if it is the same demon that is summoned all say or is it random for each summoner? That way you could only engage like Balzorok with a higher drop rate.

Don't stop trying, it's just pure luck. But if you want at least one version of the skin sooner rather than later, unlock a color variant on the hidden havoc skin. I did the purple variant (200 world quests with skin equipped) and got the same unlocked for veng.

I felt a bit tired of trying this every day (ye, casual) so, after a ~month I stopped killing those demons for like 5 days. And then during the night time, when noone can disturb me, i went there, clicked the thingy, got demon, made him reset and I did that n times. Pretty much I was searching for the Balzorok but i gave up after like ~20, and i got the demon with 2 words in name (idk why, just thought Firecaller sounds better) superstition but i got it http://c2n.me/3E8MnBE

Just to clarify for those that may be mindlessly farming this every day
It appears from the loot table that this is only dropped by 3 of the demons spawned out of a possible 20. So be careful which demon you kill if you are still farming it daily, not every demon drops it.

The drop rate on this is terrible. I have been doing this every day since launch and still no drop, i have gotten 4 buff items off the mob at one time and still no drop. i just got my 5th Hateful Eye the other day too.

Got mine, on my first time fight with Kur'zok (waited to see him spawn before attempting to fight one, as his was highest % chance of a drop), and managed to get it on the first time I killed him, at level 106, so it's very much possible to get it before 110 ^.^

Do not despair. You DO NOT need the item that drops off the demon to unlock 3 of the 4 Bulwark skins.

Just grab the Havoc hidden appearance and complete the requirements for unlocking its different skins (1k honorable kills, 200 WQs, 100 dungeons). It will also unlock the corresponding Bulwark skin.

I have not obtained the item that drops off the demon, but I do have red and purple skins unlocked!

I've witnessed Mordrethal the dread lord drop it 3 times in a row. I was about to solo kill him when a random dude came in and took the final kill - guess what? He got the skin. If he didn't come I would of gotten it. I'm so deck right now but good on him

the amount of RNG in this expansion is positively pathetic.
Adding the acquisition of this skin to the RNG @#$% storm is just #$%^ing stupid and beyond frustrating when other classes can go kill a few mobs in the world or do withered training to get theirs.

Fix this !@#$ Blizzard.

So all of a sudden on my demon hunter alt (lvl 105) that I have been doing this on I can't summon any demons nor do I get any loot when I kill one someone else summons. I have been doing this for a few weeks on this character without issue and it is the only thing I do, I still have the hall upgrade and I can use the gem to port in and out of the area. Has anyone else had this happen to them?

Been trying to get this appearance but then I accidentally realized I had the red color variant already unlocked even though it never dropped from me.

Seems like if you get the hidden appearance for Havoc, your unlocked Dungeon, World Quest, and PVP colors also carry over to your Vengeance spec. I was pleasantly surprised.

Hi guys,

I have been doing this since I could research the portal and it still hasn't dropped for me. I've tried everything, havoc spec, vengeance spec, my demon, somebody else's demon. Damn thing does not drop. I've got 4 eye pets and the rest of the loot.

Anybody else has any more ideas?

If you don't loot all of the demon loots it will mail them to you like usual, and if you leave them in the mail you CANNOT summon/get loot the next day. If you clear your mail it will work the day after you empty it. I lost a few days near the expansion launch to this and have seen comments on this page about a bug not letting them loot the corpse. Unless Blizzard has fixed it, this is the "bug" you are running into.

i am now at ak23 and started doing this every day at ak 7. this is so far beyond rediculous. there are guys who get it in the first few days and then there are ones like me that apparantly just cant get it. i understand blizzard wants at least a little frustration with special items (if you call an appearance a special item) but this takes unfair to a whole new level. give us a long quest or require exalted with whoever, really dont care, just give us at least a little better chance than we have now. personally i think all classes hidden appearance should be some sort of quest line, when you have classes that can just buy them or a 100% droprate on an easy boss (havoc hidden) its %^&*ed up that some are relying on a once a day kill with less than a 1% chance for it to drop. same with warrior protection hidden, took me 2 months of checking the cave every morning to get mine.

This drop is pathetic... Got the Twisting Nether as fast as I could from xpac release, and been doing it every day that I could (minues the few times when it two-day bugs me), and still nothing... Seems really fair when classes like Hunter just walk up to a vendor and BUY their hidden artifact appearance, or others like Shaman where its almost a 100% drop rate...

absolutely sick of this rng bs. ive been killing the mob in twisting nether for the bulwark since early november. still doing it every day and have not gotten the drop. even stopped playing my demon hunter alltogether in favor of my warrior and DK, but still log in in the morning to try the kill.

I'm a 900/906 Vengeance Demon Hunter and have been farming this nearly every single day since the start of the expansion and I finally got it to drop off Ko'razz. I had almost given up farming this thing. They really need to fix the drop rate or add some sort of bad luck protection because the drop rate on this thing is abysmal.

Day 192: Still nothing...I've started to get quite acquainted with Zaldrok, his wife make delicious Fel cookies. I can feel my sanity vanishing with every kill of these damn demons. Although Zaldrok now directly gives me his bag of loot when he sees me, it doesn't help that i see all these other hunters boasting with their shiny new Bulwarks. i'm starting to wonder if maybe i should just kill one of them and just take his? but that would be crazy and i'm not crazy... I came to this page to find information on how to get this, not to listen to everyone whine and cry about how long it takes them to get it. We Get it, its gonna take a while and sacrificing many Plump Turkey's to the cooking fire gods. I had to go to youtube to get some actually good information rather than the comment sections. Hopefully this helps someone, rather than the many pointless posts here. You guy's should be grateful as that its only a daily, and not a weekly. It took me 283 attempts to get Mimeron's Head, that took quite a while to farm up.

So here is some basic information:
Step 1: Research the 2nd tier order hall advancement to the Twisted Neither Note: It will take 3 days to complete the research.
Step 2: In the bottom level of your order hall, in The Fel Hammer, next to Loramus Thalipedes (Order Hall Research demon) there will be a clickable item called Sanctum Crystal, click on the Crystal and you will be taken to the platform below The Fell Hammer.
Step 3: There will be a floating Fel Tome that you click and channel, and one of 20 different mini bosses will appear for you to defeat. All of these bosses are soloable with an ilevel above 840, and easily above 880 ilevel.
Step 4: Loot Boss, it will have a small chance for the Bulwark of the Iron Warden among other things it drops some pretty nice random things that help you in The Broken Isles like increased DPS, or Health regen. There is even a Warlock/Demon Hunter only pet that drops Hateful Eye.
Step 5: Exit area by clicking the Sanctum Crystal again, and then repeat steps 2-5 until you get both the pet, and the Bulwark

After getting both, unless you really like the solo buff items, there is really no additional reason to keep the Twisted Neither, so switch that talent out for Vengeful Retreat

After close to a year since release and still no appearance, I'm pretty close to writing a physical letter to Blizz. Usually RNG doesn't get me down, sometimes you have good luck and sometimes you... don't. But I normally only ever hit an RNG wall with mounts. With only a couple of available glaive appearances, it seems unfair to gate one behind RNG :(

Edit: After getting bitter about the drop rate I decided I was desperate and switched to havoc spec since there were rumors it had a better drop chance that way, which seemed like a silly thing.

And then the appearance dropped today, my third try as havoc.

I'm not saying it's true. I'm just putting on this tinfoil hat because it matches my outfit, I swear...

Yesterday i found out that two and I presume more - Demon Hunters can go do the Fel Hammer boss. I saw a guy go in there thinking it would be instanced, but he was still there on the other side. I had to click to release the boss but we killed him together.

I got this from Thel'draz at level 106. I was in Vengeance spec, but I know that it can drop for either. I received it on my third day of doing these summons, and I think that I was pretty lucky. I've also received two hateful eyes in a row. Have they increased the drop rate for these items?

Apparently glitched atm... Multiple attempts to summon where they disappeared right away. Of FIVE successful summons. Got the guy down to a few last hits. POOF. Disappears...

Got this in BfA (8.2) in Havoc spec with Havoc weapons equipped, so you don't need to be in Vengeance spec, nor do you need to have the Vengeance artifact equipped at the time of killing the boss.

To anyone wondering, this appearance is enabled through the Cursed Forge of the Nathrezim in the Fel Hammer (lower floor). So don't go to the transmog vendor as you won't find it there.

So this thing has a horrible drop rate and you can seemingly only do it every 7 days (though I've never seen a concrete answer on when 'Twisting Nether' actually resets, even in 2020. Meanwhile everyone else pretty much gets handed theirs, and the priest just has to go on a scavenger hunt that can be done in under an hour.

Demon Hunters' hidden artifact appearance unlockers:

Vengeance: Baluardo della Custode di Ferro
Enable the Distorsione Fatua class hall upgrade. Kill the demon in it everyday. It's a low probability drop (~1%).

Havoc: Maschera del Calcamorte
Equip your Lame Gemelle dell'Ingannatore. Go to Suramar 55,64. Farm Ambasciatore D'vwinn and nearby mobs to get Talismano di Candrael. Then travel to Suramar 28,70 and speak to Candrael Ombradoppia. She will launch you to a platform mid-air. Kill Caduta on it. When he dies, the platform will despawn. Be sure to use Glide or a parachute to avoid dying. Then loot his body to get the hidden appearance unlocker (100% drop).
