If you use any of the 8 tomes, you will unlock illusion in your Wardrobe corresponding to the tome you used. It can only be used once and can be sold on auction house.

if you wanna profit out of these, then instead of buying the primals, farm them and use the gold buying the vendor items needed for void crystals and the items needed for prismatic shards

if you buy the mats, you will have a determinated minimum price to sell the tomes to make worth your investements
but since the mats are so easy to farm, crafters farming their own mats have this advantage on setting their own competitive prices without worring too much, similar to what happens with items like embersilk bags, where the mats can be more expensive than the bags being posted by people overfarming these mats

Unsure whether you already have the illusions or not? Wild text appears when you try to consume it while knowing illusions already; You've already collected these appearances.

Thus no need to doublecheck from Appearances menu. You can't accidentally try to get them again.

Well this was awesome. I left the game at the end of MOP and didnt come back until BFA so as a result i didnt have any of these. I just checked our ah and as luck would have it, they were all there. Certainly made my day!
