Essence of undeath is needed by enchanters to make such things as the lifestealing weapon enchant. After Cata, essence of undeath is much harder to come by, making this recipe more valuable. To make matters worse, some of the mobs that used to drop the recipe no longer exist, such as Felwood's Irontree Wanderer.

Confirmed this can still be fished up in boxes. Just got one today fishing in schools off the coast of the Blasted Lands.

Have not had any luck finding this on the AH or getting it to drop. If you need essence of undeath, it's a much better plan just to go farm it from mobs instead of trying to get this recipe so your alchemist can help you out.

This recipe appears to be the subject of price fixing, there are 2 copies of it on my realm that are being put up on the AH for about 2k more every 2 days and it's affecting the wowhead price :/

While doing my weekly beat-down on Nefarian, he decided to cough up this pattern. Not what I was hoping for, but we'll see how much it goes for on the Auction House. Every once in a while, Nefarian actually drops something useful, so it's worth it to mash him a few times each week.
