Requires 285 skill to pick (item level x 5). Plaguebloom sells decently; however, due to its abundance in EPL, WPL, and Felwood, is not the best. Its most notable uses are in the Elixir of the Mongoose, and Major Troll's Blood Potions, used by melee classes in high end content, and the Mageblood Potions used by caster classes in high end content.

Not used in any new Alchemy recipes brought by TBC, but they do in fact have some demand for Purification Potion, which is still the best decurser potion available. Has been required for learning boss encounters as hard as Archimonde, for example.

Good gravy, as a 62 hunter with heirlooms (not sure if that matters) I'm getting 2100xp off of these.

Edit: Makes it hard to go to Hellfire for the measly 60xp you get from Felweed.

This used to be called Plaguebloom, but with the upheaval caused by the cataclysm it has had its name changed to Sorrowmoss.

Now fills the Swamp of Sorrows (as the name implies) with the same abundancy that Blindweed once did. One of the side effects of the re-ordering of the leveling zones is moving the level appropriate herbs and minerals around, plaguebloom of course was originally designed to fill the plaguelands and has been renamed to match its new zone.

The swap is likely because all the "plagued" areas are no longer in the range for the "old" Plaguebloom, which only occured in lvl 57-60 zones such as Felwood and Eastern Plaguelands (These 2 zones have been levelled down as of Cata, hence the change).

They could have kept plaguebloom in these zones despite them being lvl 40-50 now, but that would have to change alchemy, as plaguebloom makes high end potions (in vanilla that is). It wouldn't make sense to be able to make lvl 57 potions in a lvl 40 zone.

Swamp of Sorrows is really the only place left, which would be why they moved it there

EDIT: Can anyone say if having "Plaguebloom" in your bag before the change stayed as Plaguebloom or did it change to "Sorrowmoss"?

I love this stuff. I had 3 stacks of it in 15 minutes. Just follow the waterways through Swamp of Sorrows. It's growing all along the edges of the water.

After flying around the map like THIS for about 1½-2 hour I got 2 stacks and 25 extra herbs for a total of 425 herbs. I also went and picked Sansam Dorato when I saw one close to this herb

After milling them this is what I got:
2x Pigmento Argentato = 33 times gave me 66 pigment
3x Pigmento Argentato = 29 times gave me 87 pigment
4x Pigmento Argentato = 23 times gave me 92 pigment

1x Pigmento Celeste = 40 times gave me 40 pigment
2x Pigmento Celeste = 1 time gave me 2 pigment

sub. total 245 Pigmento Argentato, 42 Pigmento Celeste

I did another run, skipping the Sansam Dorato and just followed the waterways. I went for another 1½-2 hour run, and stopped after 2.4 stacks (480 herbs).

Milling results
2x Pigmento Argentato = 36 times gave me 72 pigment
3x Pigmento Argentato = 26 times gave me 78 pigment
4x Pigmento Argentato = 34 times gave me 136 pigment

1x Pigmento Celeste = 47 times gave me 47 pigment

Sub. total 286 Pigmento Argentato, 47 Pigmento Celeste

Total Milled herbs = 905

531 Pigmento Argentato, 89 Pigmento Celeste

For a total of 181 mills, I got 0,4917 Pigmento Celeste per milling. I got 1,5801 Pigmento Argentato per milling

To anyone powerleveling Herbalism - You can pick Sorrowmoss and Golden Sansam all the way up to 350 skill and skip Outland entirely. This is nice because herbs are plentiful in Swamp of Sorrows and scarce in Outland. Then you can go straight to Howling Fjord or Borean Tundra.

This particular herb has the same alchemical qualities to it as the now-apparently extinct Plaguebloom. The leaves have wonderful qualities when mixed with those of the dreamfoil plant, procuring fluids useful to those knowledgeable in the arcane arts. The stems and roots are superb when mixed with gromsblood, yielding wonderful enhancements to those more physical in combat. The blossoms themselves and the pollen can be mixed with either silversage or icecap to yield curious results, either having great purification properties or dexterity in the imbiber.
The plant itself seems to prefer marshy areas and likes saturated soil, like those very near the edge of water. Those adventuring around would be wise to pick a few of these for your local alchemist, and turn a tidy profit!

This herb is the new incarnation of Plaguebloom, following the Great Sundering. I had some Plaguebloom in the bag of an abandoned toon, and it magically changed into Sorrowmoss instead.

Found in Swamp of Sorrows, on the edge of the pools of water. On trees and towards the outside of the zone, you will find Golden Sansam. Both are quite plentiful in the zone.

Hint for sorrowmoss farmers .The herb is always spawning/spawned on the riverbanks , so there is no need to check the land.

Can be harvested from Sorrowmoss as a full flower with (classic) Herbalism skill of at least 285. Any lower skill will result in Sorrowmoss Leaf.
