Remnant of Chaos is an item that drops from Heroic or Mythic Archimonde in Hellfire Citadel. ~~It is intended to be party loot as of the 6.2.3 PTR, but this still needs to be verified for live~~ The item is party loot and everyone in the raid will receive the item. You must manually loot the boss to obtain it. The item begins a short quest line, starting with Defiler's End, that awards the Grove Warden mount. This mount was originally intended to be a store mount before Blizzard changed their minds.

This mount is only going to be available for a limited time and will be removed sometime before Legion launch (source).

After killing Archimonde on heroic or higher all eligable players present will be given Resti del Caos after looting boss this item will begin a Quest line to enable you to receive the following mount Redini del Custode del Bosco

This quest was a Deja vu for me. Back when the Nightmare Dragons dropped Oggetto Intriso di Incubi for Anello con Sigillo di Malfurion
Here you escorted Keeper Remulos to the lake, to commune with Malfurion within the Dream.

Been so many years ago.

A word of warning. Unlike the ring upgrade this does not automatically end up in your bags. You have to actually loot the boss to receive this item. If you are like me and wait for the loot master to display the loot you will miss out and have to send a ticket to Blizz (like me!).

Can anyone confirm whether or not this is loot-able if the boss has been killed earlier - on a different difficulty - during the same lockout?

This is a personal loot item (Everyone on the kill can loot it, regardless of loot settings) but you MUST loot it directly. it will not be mailed to you and will not autoloot.

so far we've had good luck with tickets getting it "restored" but try to remember to loot!

Managed to get my friend a kill, and can confirm it still drops, as of 7.0 Pre-Patch.

I have the item from WoD, tried turning it in but the NPC malfurion is no longer there... Anyone know what to do or is it completely gone now?
Spoke with GM and NPC will no longer be available, nor can they add the mount sadly even if you have the item and qualified.

To any who are wondering why they are not seeing this drop, post Legion release, that is simply because this item was removed from the game, along with the mount, once Legion released.

In Patch 6.2.3, defeating Archimonde on Heroic or Mythic difficulty rewarded Resti del Caos. This quest item leads to the L'ombra del Profanatore and Acque oscure questline that rewards the moose mount "Redini del Custode del Bosco"

The item was removed with the launch of Legion, making it into a prestige item. Similar to how the drop chance for Annientatore di Vilacciaio was dropped from 100% to 1%.

Note: If you still have the quest item Resti del Caos or the quests L'ombra del Profanatore and Acque oscure after Legion started, you won't be able to complete them, but GMs might provide you the mount if you ask nicely.

I just completed these quests on 2 old characters and got the mount on both. You can still do this.
