So.....I'll guess they're making tweaks to the spec to explain why there's crit in a staff specifically made for Holy?

Does anyone know if the naaru it spawns is bugged on the beta? Because when it spawns for me it does not seem to have any animations and I can't see anything on recount about it doing any healing.

If you are considering leveling as a HOLY priest, and have come to WOWHEAD to check on this weapon, let me just say that it is doable. But do not think that the T'uure will act like a bodyguard in WoD and it will be so easy. It requires some adjustment, given that you have only 5 spells at level 100 that harm monsters (holy nova, dispel magic, smite, holy fire, and HOLY WORD: CHASTISE, which is the key spell for causing T'uure to appear).

T'uure seems to appear about 1/3 of the time, and the animation, at this time, is lackluster, meaning, that the naaru just floats there (sometimes behind you, so you may not be aware it is there unless you move a lot like I do!). You do not get a buff that appears, and it does not appear to output spells (although it does). While that is a likely bug in the animation, my smiting of a monster is more effective with T'uure out than when it is not.

Alas, this is subjective, since it does not appear to be objectively measurable as of this time.

Here are some hints for priests considering taking this weapon at level 100:

I leveled both a demon hunter and a holy priest. While the Demon Hunter can jump into a crowd of monsters and inflict an insane amount of damage in a short amount of time and end up at 100% health, the Holy Priest is a different style of play, requiring patience, and strategy. The other great thing about leveling as Holy with the crowds on the Broken Isles is, with the changes that Blizzard made on fighting monsters, as you come across one or more players of the same faction fighting, you can pop some heals and get credit for the kill as well (and loot it). After all, you did choose to bea a healer in the game! If you are patient, you can take down the same monsters, but you need to plan your attacks.

Points to remember: ALWAYS cast your HOLY WORD: CHASTISE when it is up to get the possible assist from the naaru. If the naaru is out, and you are attacking a spellcaster, you may want to wait to use it as an interrupt. (If you are a Blood Elf, ARCANE TORRENT is a plus on interruption). Remember, the assist will not occur 100% of the time. Popping a HOLY NOVA when HOLY FIRE is at the start of a cooldown has a chance of resetting it to increase your damage output. Keep your eye on the target's action bar and use DISPEL MAGIC when needed - there are a lot of monsters on Broken Isles that will add a buff in the middle of a fight. And remember to heal others, even when you are playing solo: it is appreciated and you get credit as well!

Play the shadowmoon zone if you have an alliance alt and this weapon feels a lot more connected, it feels more right.

If you reset your artifact weapon (the talents/traits) you DONT lose any artifact power except for the artifact power you pay for the reset!

Some NPCs will comment on T'uure and the two I remember from leveling are Dama Challiane and Oenia Corno Celeste. Unfortunately, if you complete the quest Oenia offers you stop seeing her, and I don't remember what she said exactly, but it was similar to Lady Challiance's:

Ohhh... do you feel that? A warmth in the air? A great light shines from within this strange priest's staff...

(Update) Oenia Skyhorn:

Help us... priest... your staff shines with a light such that I've never seen before.

I've yet to discover T'uure's special/hidden ability.

Update 2

I've been trying to discover any other interactions with T'uure. I've been near every Naaru in-game (even Muru in the Sunwell), to places that are tied to priesthood/the Light (Temple of Elune, Cathedral of Light, Aldor's Rise, Scarlet Monastery, Light's Hope Chapel, Hearthglen) or the Draenei (Exodar, the camps in the isles), but I haven't gotten any comments on the staff so far. The hidden ability still remains a mystery and I am starting to think Blizzard has either forgot about it/didn't implement it yet/is bugged.

Update 3

An in-game friend contacted a GM about the hidden ability. He told him that he couldn't give him any information about it, but it seems that the ability does exist.

I've noticed a small detail when in raids with other Holy priests...Is there any correlation between the size of the Naaru that appears and the amount of artifact power you've contributed? Right now, the Naaru that spawns when I use Holy Word spells is about 1/3 taller than my female BE priest, but I'm not sure I remember them always being that tall...? Will try and do a little research to confirm.

Has anyone else noticed this? Pure speculation, but maybe our process of getting it Artifact Power will culminate into it turning into a fully fledged Naaru when BfA arrives! Blizz (I think) has said we'll all be retiring our Artifact weapons—what if this is how ours goes?
