This item has a 100% drop chance from Direwing Predators in Zorammarsh, Tanaan Jungle.

The Direwing Alpha, known as Rendrak, is a giant bat which is summoned once you have 10 of these and have used them. He is level 101 rare elite, has 1113k hp and hits pretty hard, so it's best to kite him. He also has an ability called "Draw Blood" which does 14-15k Shadow damage and heals him for about 30k health, so you should interrupt it whenever you can.

He dropped 1 Primal Spirit and 12 Apexis Crystals for me.

Item vanishes when I leave the zone, so use them or lose them.

Note that you CAN'T collect 10 of these and save them for the next day (to kill the rare while on the Order of the Awakened daily, etc.), they disappear from your bags.

I couldn't find a consistent spot to hunt these on my paladin, so I made a macro and rode around spamming it. It took about 20 minutes to collect 10 glands.

/cast judgment
The cast command only triggers if you have a valid target. When it triggers you get dismounted, so you know you hit one.
The focus line makes the target display on the minimap if you have focus tracking enabled.

As a hunter, gathering sacs is easy: w/ range and flight, target D. Predators from the air, drop to the ground and shoot. For melee, just run into them in the air and you will pull their aggro.

The Alpha was a fun fight w/ boar pet, Leorajh b-guard, and buffs. I missed some blood interrupts, but it didn't matter much; perhaps they've been nerfed. Don't wait for him to land before attacking; he doesn't land, just gets close enough to the ground for melee.

Disappointing loot, though:
2 Primal Spirits
39 Apexis Crystals
1 Raw Beast Hide! (skinning)

With such a detailed quest and challenging fight, 1 hide, no felblight, and/or no armor/weapon/trinky/ring etc. seems stingy.
