The use effect is the same as Burning Seed, indicating this may be a reusable toy version of the consumable. Blizzard had previously said they had no plans to make the fire cat appearance easier to acquire, but it seems they may have changed their minds. Here's hoping they make it usable with the Claws of Shirvallah talent as well.

I would guess that it's become so easy to solo firelands now, that there's no point in not allowing this. Personally I'm going back as a druid trying to get Tarecgosa's Wrath, and I get plenty of seeds, plus the flamescythe

We know that only Druids can use the effect of this toy. However, do we know if any class can learn this item?

For example, if this drops on my Paladin, can my Paladin learn the item (to add this item to the toy box) so that my Druid can use the toy? Or can only Druids add this to the toy box?

What we know so far:
Availability: Patch 6.1
Drop Zone: Firelands, entrance found in the zone Mount Hyjal (Cataclysm Raid, easily soloable by a lvl 100 Druid)
Dropped by: Majordomo Staghelm (drop rate unknown, Staghelm is the 6th boss, you must defeat the first 5 including the one summoned by killing enough trash mobs then use the orb to lower the fiery bridge to reach him)
Lootable by: Druids only (since the item is flagged for the druid class, even if it is not a druid only drop, only druids can use the item so it would be useless on other classes)

It is a toybox item and should therefore have unlimited uses (no charges)

Did two runs of Firelands on 6.1 patch day, one 10N and one 25H, neither dropped the seed pouch. Both characters were druids. Looks like this new toy involves a bit of luck, and if you want to be a fire kitty you'll have to rely upon seeds until you get lucky.

It would appear that the drop rate for this is not 100% - so if you like to use the firecat transformation a lot, I'd recommend continuing to use the Alysrazor feather trick to get over here and loot + mail off a bunch of seeds before getting yourself saved trying to get the pouch.

For all of those wondering: It does not work in conjunction with Claws of Shirvallah. So you have to choose between the best PvP talent or this pretty toy(Or just use it with your off-spec).

Pouch just dropped off of Majordomo Staghelm for me while soloing 25H. I did run 25N last week and obviously didn't get it. The effect lasts for 60 minutes and the pouch has a cooldown of 10 minutes. Here is a screen shot showing the pouch in my Toy Box:

Doesn't appear to have a fire effect on other Druid forms, tried with Stag. Sadly, does not add a fire effect to the Claws of Shirvallah cat form.

Edit - Effect remains after dying.

Another Edit - If you use Incarnation: King of the Jungle while using the Seed Pouch toy, once KoJ wears off then you return to your regular cat form. At least this is an issue I have had. The toy is still in place, as long as time still remains, so sifting out of cat form and back into it brings the flame kitteh effect back.

I have been farming 25H each week since 6.1 released and I have still not seen it on my Druid. Not quite sure what the drop rate of this toy is, but I cannot wait to be more liberal with my FireKitty during raids once I get it.

Commenting to say that you can still get this toy to drop while in a raid group of friends. So, if you've a guild that likes to kidnap you every week to run old stuff for giggles, no worries about it not dropping. It'll pop up with the usual need/greed roll, but only you (the druid) should be able to roll on the item.

Edit: And just in case it matters to some, this was 25H and I was the first one to tag the boss.

I can confirm that this will only drop and rollable for druids. I was running FL 25h on my mage, for golds, with two druids. Both druids can see the item and can roll it. But my mage can;t even see it on loot table, but I can read in chat box that one of them win.

Fun observation, if you use toys that alter your appearance like Treccia di Gamon and you change to bear form, you retain the appearance from the according toy but if you have the Fandral's Seed Pouch effect on you, your cat form will not change appearance and you will remain a fire cat. So if, for whatever reason, you want to be a Millhouse or Gamon cat, don't have the Essenza Bruciante effect on.

It has just dropped off 10-man heroic for my druid.

It requires the user to be in cat form to use it. It will give the user 1 hour Burning Essence buff which will remain on the user even if they shift out of cat form. With that buff on, the user will appear as Druid of the Flame once they shift back to the cat form.

User cannot refresh the buff once it is active. They have to wait till it fades or remove it then apply new buff.

You can in fact learn this item on another class. Only a druid can loot this item, however you can trade it to another party member, and they can learn it. Could be a bug, I'm not sure, but I just did this with a hunter friend. He could learn the item, but not use the toy, because obviously the toy is Druid-only.

The drop chance is not 0.04% as wowhead lists, it says this because it's counting all the kills before this item was added making the chance a lot lower, additionally it only drops for druids so all the kills from other class' count towards reducing the percentage. This meaning it would actually be around 1% instead.

After reading all posts here and on other forums the result is that most of ppl got it was from 25M Heroic version.
So i beleive we have more chances from 25M Heroic than Normal 10 or 25.
May i ask , is it possible for Firelands to kill all bosses in 10M Normal up to majordomo and then change to 25 and heroic like we do in icc ?

This dropped for me last night on 25 man Heroic. I was really surprised because I didn't even know it existed! I ran Firelands on Monday and it didn't drop, obviously. I'm just glad I don't have to go back all the time for those seeds! ^_^

6 months running it, I've dropped Alys'razor's mount, finished the legendary staff, even used it a few times on the boss... Fandral, you must really like to feel the pain, every week... I'm gonna commune with my fellow Druids Of The Talon again and figure out where the damn you hid the pouch.

Just wanted to say, it doesn't matter what spec you are when you kill the boss, as long as you are a druid. Also, don't give up trying to get it, only took me 156 kills... :P (was farming on 3-4 druids each week)

I got it on my second run on my druid, It's good to have because you don't need to recharge any seeds + it can be refreshed so you can wear it forever. 10min cd and it remains for 60min.

My 2 druids visited the raid since the item was added.Kill after kill,but in vain.Well,where the power of Elune is not working,maybe a good mojo or the blessing of Mother Earth are better?Two more Horde druids joined the farm.Same results.Well....i believe there are three more druids awakening once in a while in Kalimdor.They will reach Firelands at some point.Fandral,drop the pouch quickly,twisted one,i have more urgent matters to attend....

On the other other hand,FL25HC is a decent source of money.So,the toy will drop sooner or later.

Okay, I am taking a shot in the dark but I have a feeling the drop rate of this improved. I farmed it for about a year before getting my first, needless to say I was thrilled. I thought maybe it was just finally my time, however 3 of my friends also got theirs between summer and fall of 2015 like I did. Since that first time I have had it drop 3 more times after (I farm these raids for gold). May just be concidence/ random useless luck after the fact but it does seem for whatever reason better than it has been for myself and circle of friends. Good luck to those still farming, believe me after a year or so I know how very frustrating it can be not getting it.

I had been running it weekly since 6.1 came out. Needless to say it didn't drop for my druids, but it dropped for a friend druid who was helping me out, while I was on another character. I can confirm that you can actually see it in the bag when it drops, but only the druid can roll. My friend "Greed" it so it did't become soulbound and passed it to me. So I can confirm that can be done still. Dropped for us in heroic 10. Horrible drop rate, I have seen both mounts drop several times and have several characters exalted with the Avengers of Hyjal and no toy. It is absolutely worth the grind as it is the Coolest toy ever for a druid! RNG is a cruel mistress but don't give up, keep trying! If that doesn't work, bring a druid buddy with you and do it again until it drops! Best of lucks!

I'm writing this as an informative post - JUST IN CASE - so people can hop on the bandwagon.

Monday night before reset, TWO of my friends got this to drop on separate runs. We've been farming individual druid-runs to help each other out what seems like "forever." Needless to say, I was happy they got theirs, but I hadn't gotten mine earlier in the night. One from 25h, the other 10n.

Moments ago, I ran my druid 25h and it dropped for me. I don't know if there's a connection, or if the RNG gods are broken, but if someone else visits this comment with success, be sure to help out some of your friends.

Finally got the toy after almost a year grinding. I leveled 5 druids and farmed this every week. I geared them by timewalker dungeons and then Ashran (Season 3). In full pvp gear you are 700 item level making heroic 25 man very very easy and a great way to farm gold. (about 2500g per run by drops/vendor)
I also took up skinning on all druids and leveled skinning to 600 in there. The leather sells for a lot in the auction house. About 1000g per 250 on my server.

In my grind, I got Ragnaros's mount in about 5 kills so I didn't bother to kill him anymore.
Took about 30 Alysrazor kills to get that mount. I got that mount another 6 more times.

I was currently considering leveling another 2 druids to help grind out this toy but I finally got it.

Don't give up. You will eventually get it. This toy is very rare but worth it.

Confirmed with GM today that drop rate is bugged to where if you change your loot spec AFTER going in to Firelands, the drop rate is fixed. Developers have been working on it for a long time but for some reason trying to fix it even broke something in WoD, said the GM. Said, it's still rather rare, but it will help to change spec after going in.

As for me, I ran Firelands for a year almost every week, Heroic 25H, got my staff and Rag Mount all along the way, and finally, a few weeks ago, I changed my spec from Current Spec (Feral) to manual Feral. So I didn't even change from Primary to Secondary Loot spec like the GM had said...just from Current automatic choosing spec to manually Feral. Pouch dropped ezpz gg <3 I started suspecting immediately that it was bugged and finally brought it up a couple weeks later while chatting about a different ticket. Confirmed, and knew I had already checked and no posts on WoWHead about it...<3

EDIT: The exact example the GM gave when saying change from Primary to Secondary spec, if I remember right, was changing from Feral to Balance Loot Spec, after going into instance. This wasn't, as described above, what brought the bug to my attention, so I suspect even changing from Current Spec (Feral) to Feral manually works, but I thought it might be good to give some more details on that :)

Confirmed that Fandral's Seed Pouch dropped for me today on 10H mode. After farming it for weeks on end(approximately 6-7 months total), I got tired of running it each week. I hadn't ran it in probably 3-4 months. I got an itch and decided to try it again, and ended up having it finally drop!

Seems to be an EXTREMELY low drop rate, however. Those of you who have received it so far, consider yourselves lucky!

i was lvling my worgen druid and thought how cool would it be to lvl a fire kitty druid... so i hopped on my troll druid i only use to farm gold/mounts and ran firelands 10 normal. it dropped on my first majordomo kill. also i was balance when i got it. i didn't mess with loot spec either. says it drops for druids. balance druid is a druid so i don't know what the confusion on this is about. this seems to be like timereaver to me. you either get it on your first few tries or you get it after a lot of tries or give up.

Ridiculous RNG aside, I can say confidently that this item is (to use technical terminology) hella bugged. I had been farming it for over a year on four different druids, 91 Majordomo kills since the toy was introduced.
Seeing all these reports of people getting it within the first few attempts I started to get annoyed. I thought maybe it was just a vocal minority that was super lucky, so I started to ask random druids in dungeons or standing around the auction house. All of them said they got it in less than ten tries.
So I put in a ticket just to have a CS rep tell me that there was nothing wrong with the drop rate and I should just keep trying.
I now believe I've proven him wrong. Today, for my 92nd kill, I thought I'd try something different and invite some random person to my group to come along. First time I've ever not done a solo run. It drops. I'm calling BS.
I didn't change my loot spec or anything. Just invited a random DK from group finder. Killed all the bosses. 25H. Rolled need when the seeds dropped. Your character/account CAN be bugged for this item. Try taking someone with you.

Dropped for me yesterday on my boomkin, I've been farming it for 3 weeks on 25m heroic and I saw some people say they changed their loot specialization and stuff to feral but yesterday I changed nothing just roflstomped through it and he dropped it, very nice moment.

Would also add my agreement it should affect other druid forms, like fire boomkin would be awesome or fire bear or bird.

I have read the majority of these comments and have found different ones each saying different things. Therefore I would like to confirm a few things seeing as the item finally dropped for me yesterday 1st July 2016.

I have for the past 5 weeks been farming the toy on 8 characters each week. My tactic was to find a druid to accompany me for the raid or simply invite one when I had cleared up until the boss.

Over the course of the 5 weeks, the flying mount dropped twice, the ground mount once and the toy dropped once (in that order).

I ran the raid yesterday with a druid and this was when I got the toy. The actual item itself cannot be seen in the loot roll, nor in the bag or the loot specifications in the chat box. Therefore I was relying solely on the word of my feline companion.

He looted the item and proceeded to trade me, I accepted and the item appeared in my bag. The item itself will appear red, implying that my class was unable to use the item. However, once I right clicked the item it added to my toy box and I was able to use this on my druid! So to all of you out there wanting to farm it, feel free to run it with whomever you please but as long as you have a druid in the group who tells you you'll never know if it drops!

*Also I tended to run the raid on normal up until the boss and then change it to HC. Therefore I cannot clarify whether running it on HC or Normal makes any difference.

** I previously also spoke to a GM who clarified that the item was NOT bugged. I did not ask the druid to change his loot specialisation and the item has dropped for me. Therefore I conclude that it is a VERY low drop rate.

Thought i'd pass this along.. simple macro to have firecat form/burning essence always active. Since the only way to "refresh" your firecat form is to remove the previous buff and recast it, it'll do both, instantaneously. Remember, to use this toy you need to be in cat/firecat form first. Enjoy.

I farmed this on two druids for several months on 10 man normal. Today I changed it to 25 man heroic right before the Straghelm (leave change to 25 man then enter and change to heroic) It dropped. Like others not sure if it was just coincidence or not but well worth the change for me.

Dropped for me today after about 3 attempts. I've been reading comments on here about changing specs after you enter the instance.. not sure if that made any difference but after zoning in (my loot spec was already set to feral) changed it to boomkin and then back to feral, again no idea if this made a difference so I cleared up to Maggiordomo Elmocervo on 25 normal and then changed to heroic. Killed him and the toy dropped.
I felt kind've lucky so I went after Rag for the mount... Lo and behold Uovo di Millagazor Infuocato drops as well

So satisfied - it finally dropped!

I can't say there's any rhyme or reason to the theories that it has a higher drop rate if you change your loot spec, put it on heroic, turn around 3 times and knock your heels together, but, I did all those things and it dropped.

Went in on 25 normal, changed it to heroic, changed my loot spec to "current specialization: feral".

I am convinced this no longer drops. I've been beating down Staghelm every week for three expansions now... I've gotten everything else out of the place; I've thrown away four of Alys's mount and three of Rags, because you can't even vendor them...and nothing.

Well, then.

Right after this post, I went in on my druid and was again disappointed. A friend joined my hunter on his druid and we did it... and there it was. And he was able to trade it to me and I could use it, and now my druid has it and I haz a happee, finally.

So, can confirm it does still drop, and that while it does have to be looted by a druid, it can then be traded to a different class who can add it to the toybox.

Got it after 17 runs on heroic. Ran it on heroic considering its higher drop rate, I could have ran it on normal and ran just majordomo with the help of saves but one heroic run took 10mins anyways so not that much of a difference + needed some xmog.

Got this on 110 ( i928) balance druid with feral loot spec on 25 heroic,ran for 6 months near perfect consistency.
this time changed spec from resto to balance after entering, didnt swap any dungeon specs nor my loot spec (any voodoo that can help, right?).
Got it yesterday, Monday 8pm server, end of day game play. Almost didn't do it!.
Seriously thought of skipping this to finish time walker 5/5 dungeon, only had time for one. Point here is going the extra mile pays off!

BFA 8.1, 25H Feral spec. Did NOT drop on 1st attempt. Therefore, drop rate is definitely not 100%.

Still need to farm it =D

After 70 Heroic Kills and 80 regular kills, it finally dropped on 25(H). Woohoo, no more Firelands! :)

I've run firelands enough times to build my legendary staff and get the mount to drop, still no toy.

Guess now I can look forward to not having to kill Rag next week.

After many months(since 7.3.5?) of farming on 3 characters...going up to 7 druids, it finally dropped today. 2019-05-08.
Doesn't matter which spec you are in (was Balance at the kill). Ran 25HC.
Good luck to anyone else who still tries.

After reading comments, i don't get what is this fuss about. After deciding giving feral druid a chance i immediately went to Firelands with 2 of my friends. And get this toy on my first try. Plus i'm not even sure i will use this toy or not. Because it's kinda low texture versus artifact appearances of feral druid.

We should all send suggestions and ask for the effect to extend into our travel form as well, changing the raven/owl into a fire lands bird.
Heck maybe even change the tank form into something else like a scorpion.
Going into water shouldn't show but your reignite once you exit the water.

Was cleaning out my bank after almost two years away from the game. Found my Flamescythe, and got real sad about the loss of fire kitteh. Came to Wowhead to see if there was ever a replacement. Joy! There is! But wait, that droprate... and here I thought I was done with the Firelands forever after finishing my legendary staff :|

Just looted the staff, it still works too, just a long cd and if you fart or sneeze, the flames are gone. Is the pouch farmable by other classes or just druids?

I finally got it! 3 druids, and about half a years' worth of runs.

Remember, since these old raids have been converted to 'flex', you can do BOTH Heroic & Normal clears in the same week.

Realizing this was what helped me finally get it!

Update 15 Aug 2020:

Well, looks like this toy will become more or less a white elephant once Shadowlands is out. You can still use this to temporarily change into a fire kitty, but if you collected the transmog for Alabarda Ardente di Fandral, the flame kitty look is unlocked in the barber.

Got it on my balance druid with loot spec set to balance on heroic mode. Took me over half a year of doing it weekly on 2 druids and got both mounts before getting the damn thing! Don't give up!

that it is no longer necessary to farm Firelands for this toy in order to get the appearance starting in Shadowlands. It will simply be available from the barbershop if you have obtained one of the transmogs for Fandral's Flamescythe.

Anyone know if this is sufficient to unlock the fire kitty in Shadowlands? I didn't get a scythe before the transmog was removed. Does that mean I'm out of luck come shadowlands?

After the shadowlands pre-patch I went to go do firelands for some mount drops and this thing finally dropped for me after 7 long years. Not that it matters anymore since barber shops exist but at least I can have 2 forms now.

This thing finally dropped for me. Rarity has it listed as 1/100, which is probably accurate. For me though? About 350 attempts over the last 3 years or so.

For a long time I would just get 1 attempt in per week, as I ran it on my druid main. Then Blizzard changed some things and you were able to run it on both normal and heroic same week, so I was able to do 2 per week. A while back I added a 2nd druid... then a 3rd druid, for a total of 6 attempts per week.

Today it dropped and I am just so happy to cross this thing off of my list, it's been there way too long.

Got it on 9.1.5

Farmed with 2x druid 4x every week addon shows 64 kills but it got reseted at some point so number should be around 100-120.

Edit : 53 level newly leveled alliance druid + 50 lvl old horde druid /// 53 Lvl alliance druid got the loot. 2 heroic 2 normal 10 man run each week.

An absolutely horrible drop rate.
• I ended up with 3 Druids running this twice a week. Normal & Heroic. I have no idea how many runs over the past couple of years?
• The winning run was a 10-man Heroic on a level 70 Guardian Druid
• Dragon Isles 10.07
• Frustratingly you have to kill the first 5 bosses before you can access the 6th boss. Thankfully a nearby portal to take you back to the start
• All 3 Druids were Alts so they were camped at Firelands entrance for the week
• Never bothered with the final boss for a chance at the mount
• Pet drops were so common I just deleted them
• Bind when Equipped items went into the GB which was appreciated by others

Finally lootet this in 10.1.7. Farmed it for years with, first with 3, then with 4 and at the end with 5 Druids each week twice. 1071 Kills tracked until it dropped. The drop rate is a joke.

Being a collector of all things in WoW there is very few things i haven't wanted to stop farming ( Zanne di Mannoroth springs to mind as the only thing so far BEFORE the skip was added i was well over 1k kills on one char ) BUT i've all but given up on this toy, been farming it for close to 2 years, granted only on one Druid but that's besides the point, i'll leave this for another time to start up the farm again as i've lost complete interest in this +1 to my collection, doesn't help that only Druids can learn and use it, good luck on this farm if you need it! ^.^
