Although i am not entirely sure if it procs on getting hit or hitting, this Chili is worth some fun imo.
It does scale in damage, first time i used it it was about 90 damage in my lvl 30s. Now it hits for around 420 and crits for 620 fire damage.
I am not sure it if scales with the level or with my damage gear. I use it on a Paladin in mid60s and 350-400 +SpellDmg.

This is a great item for Feral druids, since it's one of the few melee damage adds that actually works (they can't use weapon procs like Windfury since their melee weapon isn't technically used).

Just remember: if you jump in water, you lose the buff. Nice touch!

I'm a warlock and just tried it on at lvl 64 dreadfang lurker outside shatt.

It procs on you hitting the target (my voidwalker was tanking).

Holy %&^*, the thing proc for 1k + fire damage, crit for 1.5k. O_o

The chili was only hitting for 61 -64 fire dmg after about 100 procs using a 55 rogue and a 70 druid.

I have used a few of these and never seen the effect. I notice the fire breathing 'buff' leaves me sometimes before the time is up, so I am guessing its a 1 time thing per use, and I never notice when it works!

I only used a few, but to me it'd be best to make Carrion Surprise instead, at least you get a heal and a well fed buff.

For the trouble it can take to collect a decent amount of flame sacs, i'd say don't bother with making this unless you have extra cookin supplies.

The problem for me could be that I might not have had spell effects and other graphics at max. You might have to be running on high end graphic settings to really notice the firebreathe.

This item produces a buff that is classified as a Poison effect. Normal friendly poison cleansing effects will not remove it, but the Dwarf 'Stone Form' racial, which grants temporary immunity to poisons, will.

I discovered this to my annoyance.

I did not know this existed! My favourite item in the game sits in my bank, unused... My trusty Goblin Dragon Gun.

I wish someone had told me earlier about this... Now my rogue can breathe fire again! (after all, I prefer my gnome crispy!)

WoW needs more chili. Why?

IT IS MANLY. Chili is MAN FOOD. And, as we all know "no girls play WoW", this can only mean the game is full is MACHO MEN who EAT CHILI that is MADE FROM DRAGONS.

I vote we add more kinds of chili. Possibly even manlier kinds, like chili made from SHARKS AND BEARS.

I dont seem to be getting any procs from this at all. I am an 80 feral druid, tried in form and out. I used two of these on mobs below dalaran, not a single proc.

When it procs, are you unable to continue attacking in melee while the breath is happening, or can you do both simultaneously? I'm not sure as I saw it proc for me today and my toon seemed to stand there just breathing fire and not swinging anymore (he really takes a puff too. second or more in duration.)

Proccs on when you do melee attacks around 15 second cooldown when I tested on target dummy always did exactly 59 damaga.

And its instant so you can run willy nilly continuing attacking.

Long Ago this item used to be bugged in two ways.
the first bug hid the second bug. the first bug was trivial, so the second bug didnt get fixed or discovered for a few months.

basically, if you cooked more than 1, if you had a stack of 2 to 20, and you ate one of them, you would eat the whole stack at once. when it bugged like this, you would not even recieve the buff. it would bug out.
"It was so hot that it didnt even work ^ ^"

but if you were smart enough to try removing one from the stack, and eating it solo,
You would get the 10 minute buff. And it would proc on every single auto attack.
It basically doubled your melee dps, every time you hit for 50-100, it would hit for 50-100.

Also, you would basically stream dragons fire from your mouth during the whole fight.

I got the chance to use it about 10 times in pvp. Poor bastards didnt stand a chance.
all they saw was a crazed Dwarf hunter breathing reigning death.

Good times.

After 100 test white melee hits as a L60 on a L60 target dummy, the Chili effect occurred 9 times, so it's under a 10% proc rate on that (limited) evidence.

The hits were around the 50 - 60 damage per proc.
