This is one of the Rewards for the Darkmoon Faire Race

There are prizes for completing the Real Big Race within 20 tolls:

◾Mega Superibrido: Oro, for using a Superibrido, rewards Cannone di Lunacupa. This shoots you out of a cannon and lets you fly for a minute.
◾Mega Velocicottero: Oro, for using a Velocicottero, rewards a Scrutatore di Lunacupa. This item is quite similar to Occhio di Kilrogg and lets you scout out dangerous areas.
◾Mega Tecnostruzzo Corridore: Oro, for using a Tecnostruzzo Corridore, rewards a Telecomando del Minizeppelin da Corsa. This teaches the battle pet Minizeppelin da Corsa.
◾Corridore scatenato della Mega Corsa, for using a Struzzo Corridore, rewards a Bandiera a Scacchi. This increases mount speed by 30% for 10 minutes.

Completing the Real Race within 11 tolls also rewards prizes:

◾ Superibrido: Oro, for using a Superibrido, rewards a Sguardo di Lunacupa. This puts a Darkmoon Faire marker over someone's head.
◾Velocicottero: Oro, for using a Velocicottero, rewards an Insegna dell'Attrazione. This places down a blinking arrow, similar to the ones used as decorations around the Faire.
◾ Tecnostruzzo Corridore: Oro, for using a Tecnostruzzo Corridore, rewards an Fuoco d'Artificio Perpetuo di Lunacupa. This is a permanent version of Fuoco d'Artificio di Lunacupa, a firework with the Faire logo.
◾ Corridore scatenato della Corsa di Lunacupa, for using a Struzzo Corridore, rewards a Fiala del Mangiafuoco. This sets your breath on fire, like many of the Darkmoon Faire NPCs.

When do you use an item with charges? When you need it.
When do you need +30% mount speed? Never.
When do you want to have +30% mount speed? Always.

I figure people are wondering if this has any affect while doing the races. Since no one has posted yet I did some research after winning it.

Base Speed before buffs starting race: 230% movement speed
....with Checkered Flag Buff: 250% movement speed

As soon as you go through the Starting line: 260% movement speed
....with Checkered Flag Buff: 260% movement speed

During race with Speed Boost Powerup: 330% movement speed
....plus Checkered Flag Buff: 330% movement speed

As you can see, once you go through the Starting Line there are no benefits to using the Checkered Flag Buff during any of the Darkmoon Faire races. Good Luck to all!

Kinda sucks it's limited and it's one of the hardest things ever. CURSE YOU MINIZEPS!

That jump for the first skip requires some precision or good RNG, or you can just grab a friend to Jump To Racer instead (meaning you'd take the Racing Regs path on the left at the very beginning). Best of luck everyone!

Edit: Still haven't used mine since I got it. I CAN'T BRING MYSELF TO USE IT!

The item is a bit disappointing for the work that has to go into getting this achievement, since most people are only going to be getting a 20% increase from the guild speed bonus. The item is also soulbound so you can't transfer it to another character.

For the difficulty of this achievement, it's a bit strange to see such a limited reward compared to the other races which give you a toy or pet. This item also, of course, takes an item slot in your inventory. It's still useful but I really hope blizzard doesn't put any other rewards for these races like this one.

The other rewards for the races are all pretty cool though, and I really like these race concepts. I found this one to be both the hardest and least rewarding though.

I think a few ways of improving this item would be:

1. Have the number of charges automatically reset back to 50 at the start of every Darkmoon Faire.
2. Allow the player to spend X amount of Darkmoon Tickets or X amount of gold to refill the charges.
3. Allow the player to obtain a new one each month by re-completing Corridore scatenato della Mega Corsa.
4. Give it a visual of some sort to allow other players to know you have it. Similar to what you see on the Briglie del Pony d'Argento.
5. Change it to always give mounted speed +30% while on Darkmoon Island (but not during races).
6. Change it to a toy that can only be used during the Darkmoon Faire.
7. Make it so that every time the player completes The Real Big Race with the Racing Strider in 20 tolls or less they are given a temporary mount similar to Pietraluna Scintillante that has the +30% mount speed built in. They can use it anywhere mounts are allowed but only during the Darkmoon Faire.
8. Since the race was completed with the Racing Strider which is similar to Zampalunga Rapido delle Foreste give the player an item that will buff their Zampalunga Rapido delle Foreste to always have +30% mounted speed while on Darkmoon Island.
9. Make this item into a toy (like a whistle) that can be used to call a Zampalunga di Lunacupa anywhere on Darkmoon Island.
10. Make this item into a toy that causes your Zampalunga Rapido delle Foreste or Zampalunga di Lunacupa to carry around a checkered flag.

A very disappointing award, especially considering how difficult this achievement is to do alone on a Strider. This video helped out a ton, so if any of you loners need a strategy to get this achievement without the use of friends, it will be very helpful. Best of luck to you all.

Checkered flags are actually used to signify the end of a race, so it's a bit odd that they associate this with a speed boost; this should be a green flag.

Only works with mounts. Druid forms and the like are not affected.

This item donly gives me 10%.... I have Master riding on my blood dk and my neutral flyingspeed according to my addon "Monkeyspeed" is 430. When i activate the flag it only moves up to 440 :(

I used this to boost my swimming mount speed to get the 7th pebble for the Baa'l hidden questline! Worked like a charm!

I just feel the need to express my disgust with this item. I’m not giving another dime or minute of time to this game. Would have rather gotten another crappy little toy. This is like a slap in the face. Complete and utter trash.

In 9.0 it doesn't seem to work.
I've tested it with my warrior on 310% flying speed and there's no or insignificant change by flying with or without this buff. Same goes to ground mount traveling.
