This item is named after Chris Kowalski who works as a senior sound designer at Blizzard. He is mentioned in game for a second time. Previous reference is Primo Ufficiale Kowalski

After about 1.5 hours of pickpocketing I finally obtained this item.

Can confirm it only works in Ashran, to some dismay. It's a shame because Rogue can get this the most easily, but what use for it does a Rogue have?

It also has a massive, 15 second cast time to use it.

Ok, after spending 500 artifact fragments, I was able to fully test this out.

How it is supposed to work- Upon using this item, you put a debuff on all nearby enemy creatures akin to the old priest spell Soothe, which reduces the radius in which you can attack them.

How it currently works- This object only affects one type of "creature" in Ashran- Lvl 1 critters. The debuff is currently NOT applied to anything else. It does not work against any of the higher threat creatures at any spot in Ashran.

This also fades upon dieing, rather then lasting a full hour.

The effective range is actually 20ish yards, rather then the full 30, which is very close to a mob's normal aggro range.

Finally, this can ONLY be used in Ashran.

I was excited when I saw this item, and undertook the painstakingly long grind to acquire this. I was heartbroken. The only nice part about this item is the music played during the wind-up.

Hopefully a few portions of this, such as it not affecting ANY creatures, are fixed quickly in the future.

It looks like it doesn't work properly: It only affects critters or NPCs that are already in fight, and randomly affects them when they enter fight with you too.
If someone could confirm how is this item supposed to work it would be great.

Kowalski's Music Box should now correctly apply its soothing effect to targets that are not in combat.

The fact that this thing only works in Ashran (which should be stated in the tooltip btw) makes it pretty useless to the "Bards of Azeroth".

Does not appear to work in any druid shapeshift forms (tested unglyphed travel form, bear form, and claws of shirvallah cat while in feral spec).

The buff will not be applied unless you first come within 30yd of a mob while in caster form, but will stay on the mob after shifting. Not sure about moonkin form, but this item is essentially useless for feral druids.

Since Ashran was brought back as an Epic Battleground, this is available from the Dazzerian in the Ashran battleground, and no longer available from the Dazzerian in the outside world.
