Mage's slow fall for all classes? No engineering?

As stated this item give you a 10 second slow fall buff.

The item also requires a 2 second cast time. So you are unable to jump off a cliff and cast this ability.

Free slow fall for everyone!

However, this has a whopping 1 hour cooldown and a 2 second cast to activate, so you can't activate it while falling.
This combined with the relatively short duration (only 10 seconds) makes this a quite weak item.

For those used to Caduta Lenta and similar spells, note this lasts 10 seconds, which is very short. I learned the hard way just how short it is, since using the item then mounting takes a very long time.

Cuscino d'Atterraggio di Evonice has only a 30 minute cooldown, and is obtained way earlier in the game. Does take a trinket slot though.

I originally thought Spiritwalker's Grace worked with spells in general, but it's actually only with shaman spells. So no, it does not work with using this.

Considering your local friendly engineer can make you a metric crap-ton of goblin glider kits, which allow more control, have a longer duration and shorter cooldown, and also only take one bagslot per twenty uses, and is instant and thus useable while falling. This item is worse than useless. It actively takes up bag space for no benifit. Avoid, you can't even vendor it.

Either increase the duration, or decrease the cast time. Otherwise we won't even bother with this item.

Useless.

Useless because it needs cast time and has only 10s duration. You need to cast it, which you probably waste about 2s while jumping down.I was a druid in cat form jumping from the tall cliffs in Nagrand and when the <10s was up and I still end up splat to the ground.

This is one of many worthless items Blizzard has made. It takes 2 seconds to cast (which will also dismounts you), only lasts 10 seconds as opposed to the normal 2-3 mins, has an hour cooldown, and odds are it will run out midair causing you to die from fall damage. This item is not worth using and everyone is better off keeping a stack of Kit dell'Aliante dei Goblin at all times instead.

This gave me something. When my Goblin Glider/cloak trinket (inventoryitemid 15) is on cd I can use this instead with i.e. this macro.

Just to point out that this item can not be used while "moving", and falling counts as moving.

You have to turn on this item BEFORE you jump/fall (while stationary on ground).

New Toys - Old Items Converting to Toys
I figured it's better now than later to start farming the old items that will be converted to toys in Legion. Who knows if they'll lower drop rates or how heavily they will be camped once they're added to the toybox.
I made myself a Google Sheets document to track all the toys being converted and it has the ability to mark off the item once you've found it. With the filters I can then hide any marked off toys. This has really helped me find and track the long list of items and I wanted to share it with the community. I've heavily cleaned it up for sharing purpose, so feel free to use it as you please!

There is a purpose this item can serve if paired with another item. The item Throbbing Blood Orb allows players to leap around, even in no flight zones. Players can use the slow fall effect from Whispers of Rai'Vosh to gain a little extra distance on a leap or two.

As a Hunter, there is an alternative to all the mechanisms and spells you can use in-game to slow your fall.
By using Tomo della Bestia Ibrida, you'll learn to tame Cacciatore Piumanto. Those have a special ability called: Spinta Aerea.
This gives you a slow-fall, without cooldown, for 30 sec.
The only drawback is that you can not steer/change direction after you jump.
