When I used this on my level 26 Dwarf Paladin, it caused me to lose 200 or so mana, as though I had cast it like a spell. The combat log said I was casting Flamestrike (like the animation referred to in the first post)

If you party or raid with people who use the RankWatch addon, I reccomend this item for a quick laugh at their expense. RankWatch will get a false positive and will report that you have cast Rank 1 Flamestrike instead of Rank 9. If you are a mage this isn't particularly amusing, but if you are another class, this will confuse your cohorts to no end.

In patch 4.01, on my level 80 priest this does 1k damage followed by a 1.2k dot.
Its damage scales with your spell power.

This will cast an instant Flamestrike at the location, that is identical to the Mage version of it. On my level 85 Mage, it does the exact same damage as my Flamestrike Spell.

Seems to scale very well with Attack Power, on my level 20 paladin a vengeance of 20 Attack power already doubled the damage ._.

These kind of items from low level quests should be added in the game as (x level) world wide mob drops, there's also a Blinding powder from a horde quest chain that could be like this... I mean, these items are in the game, why not leave them there for lowbies to play with them.

You read that right, it does zero damage after the stat squish. It still pulls monsters.

Oh wait... 0 damage... I am all for stat squish, but... seriously?

EDIT: It now does 12-13 damage - which is of course not wildly impressive, but it sure is an improvement to the 0-0 damage it had for a while there ;-)

Looks like they might have received a buff - the tooltip in-game stated for me that it now does 0 to 1 damage!

Finally, these things received the nerf they deserved. The new stat squish brought it from the monstrous 13 damage down to an almost reasonable 6 damage!
