The recipe drops off this mob quite frequently. i usually farm this guy on my rogue and make a lot of gold in the process. He also drops a few different +fire resist leggings and a blue wand and the priest fortitude rank 1 book. Drop ratio seems to be 1:4 kills.

Highest DPS enchant in the game, but it is often considered "n00b" to have this on a weapon because of the high fire resist mobs in PvE Raids. While I don't recommend this for PvP, I will recommend that you put this (or Lifesteal, whichever you can afford) on your melee weapons for BC grinding. This enchant will make a big difference and it is CHEAP!

This, for me, is a time honoured stop gap between getting a new weapon and having enough resources for the big enchants that cost lots of gold. Its dirt cheap. Its almost tradition now that any new weapon I get will have this on it before moving on to something better.

Imo It's a bit more viable now PVE wise with the Burning Crusade

As Dual wield shammy with fast weapons the proc rate is fantastic and almost makes up for the DPS I lose by having super fast weapons. Waiting for a couple of big slow axes to come my way then Illl get my hands on some proper enchants.

Very nice glow as well for all the fashion Wh*res ;)

in eitrigg the recipe is crazy to buy most of the time it costs like 75g lowest at 50g and highest at 140g(with ppl buying of course) i think this enchant is def the most exspensive on my server costs like 20g for mats then another 25-35g for the enchant it made me go enchanting and is was my key for getting my epic flying mount.

wow, an essence of fire is upwards of 20g depending on availability, then another 20g for shards(4 @ 5g a piece). I've made more G farming the mats than actually selling the enchant. people only ever want to pay 20 maybe 30g for the enchant with my mats, but i can get an extra 10g just selling mats. Its a lot more common now that any average player lvl 65+ can solo the formula by getting to loregraine(sp?) without aggroing the mobs in the hallway with him. I've seen the price drop from a steady 140g to 45-50g for the formula. either way a must have

I am making a 29 twink rogue and wanted to know if it was better to get this or crusader main hand. I know for sure im getting +15 agi off hand and money is not an issue. I am also considering getting +15 agi main hand as well but that is not as likely. Does anyone know how much dmg it procs for on a 29?

This is useful if your around level 40 or so but once you get around 60 or so the dps becomes rather insigficant and doesnt really matter and there are very few enchants (like mongoose or possibly crusader) that will actually be useful. Alot of enchants that will be useful once u r high will be rather expensive and there is something that is quite useful and only cost 5 gold. Steel Weapon Chaim- Immune to Disarming. The only catch is that this is the rarest BS plan in the game and finding someone who has it is gong to be kinda hard...

- The procc rate is about 3PPM according to tests done.
- It equals about +2 DPS
- It can crit for 60 dmg independant from other crits, and the crit may trigger critbased talents, like Vengeance for Paladins

One more thing, the procc is affected by buffs that increase damage.
So far it's procced for 95 for me at most... That was a crit at 60 plus various raidbuffs.
Highest procc I got in solo was in the 70's or 80's.

If, like me, you didn't know the instance and want this enchant, here is how I did it with my hunter. It takes less than 10-15 minutes per run. Follow this map:

Enter at A, pull the first two mobs and kill them. Send your pet away, and wait until you have a window in the mobs to run straight through to the arena with aspect of the cheetah(6). You should be able to do this without getting aggro (@70). FD if you get aggro and wait till they go away. Call your pet when you enter the arena, do the event and kill the boss. Take the ramp going up, and you reach a platform with many mobs, go directly up another ramp again, it kind of corkscrews, avoiding mobs. You come to the arena spectators, which are neutral, directly opposite to where you enter the spectators is another door. You go there, and under are 3 elite mobs, and 3 non-elite, and a roving fire elemental elite. Kill them all. Go to the right. There, you will find another set of mobs, 3 elite, 3 non. Kill them, and you are right in front of the mob that drops the recipe.

If he doesn't drop it the first time, log out inside the instance next to his corpse. Log back in about 20 minutes later, and when you are at the beginning of the instance again, he has respawned. If you are still where you killed him, he has not. Have fun!

Once the mobs between you and Loregrain are "grey con's" at around level 61 (give or take); with the Shadowforge key (or a rogue), this pattern can easily be farmed without stealth, fighting any mobs, (save Loregrain and his 2 adds), and takes less than 5 minutes a run.

Unlock the gate to the left of the entrance and go through, then open the gate on your right, then the barracks door on your immediate left past the gate. Through the door, there is only 1 patrolling fire guard that paths up the stairs who can easily be killed solo, or avoided completely. If you follow the stairs up, they will lead you straight into the Arena spectator area.

Follow around the arena and down the stairs behind it, hug the right wall all the way back to the Pyromancer. He is accompanied by 2 other casters, All 3 of which go down very easily for any class, but as a priest a fun trick is to mind control one of the adds as they sometimes have an ability called "Fury of Ragnaros", A 30 minute buff that gives 25 extra spell damage, not vital, but kinda nifty.

The only thing to watch out for is letting the adds run at all, as they can potentially agro the larger group nearby... even if this happens, its a mixed group of non-elites and elites that die rather quickly so don't panic. Loot, leave, and reset. My current drop rates are usually 1-2 every 5 runs, and AH prices for the enchant are about 50-100g, obviously dependent on Sever and availability. At 50g bid 75 b/o , the pattern will usually sell quite fast, making it a great way to earn some extra money if you're bored.

This run is also great as an enchanter looking for Small Brilliant Shards or Large Brilliant Shards. You can also do the Arena event, Incendius, Fineous Darkvire, and Lord Roccor without killing any trash mobs; maximizing the earnings/shards of each reset for only another 5-10 minutes of work. Fineous and Incendious may give some trouble until you are in the mid 60's, class dependent. At 70, this run is completely trivial and you will always get a mix of 5 small/large brilliants, a chance at the fiery pattern, chance at an Ace of Elementals, and all for only 10-15 minutes of work a run.

This enchant proc even with Seal of Command of paladin,since Seal is considered as extra attack in some way.It is tested :)
It is defenately one of the best enchants for low lvl people and twinks.Also it is cheap if you compare with Crusader and Mongoose etc.

Fiery weapon proc crits can proc Flurry for Enhancement Shamans. Not sure if it will proc Flurry for Warriors, haven't tested.

This is easy to farm as a rogue. All you have to do is go through the locked backdoors and stealth staright up to Loregrain. He is an easy kill and drops it about once every 5 runs for me. The pattern is worth 70+ gold on my server, so it's about 70g an hour. A nice way to farm for your epic flying mount now that mechanar chest farming is a thing of the past.

Took me 1 run to get it. Well I would say the 13% rate isnt accurate or then I was just lucky. ^^
Best way to get it is anyway just to keep spamming the boss. Just rush to him, kill, loot, go out, repeat. As a lv70 it was easy to avoid all the mobs, and blinked trough everything I couldnt walk past.

its very easy farming for warrior 65+. just kill 2first mobs and go to arena event. arena is easy. after that u must go left upstairs and go above arena. then jump on wall and go to Pyromancer Loregrain. he have 2mobs security ^^ easy to kill:P i farming that for gold. sth about 20runs and u have 3-4 recipes:) on my server cost of that is about 100-120g :P

One of the better enchants out there for leveling a low level character. Apply this to a weapon such as the or even a Skinning Knife or Blacksmith hammer, which are able to be wielded by any class. You'll be one or two shotting most low level mobs, making leveling extremely quick early on. And because they are white weapons they can be kept and sent to other alts to be used again.

I got it on my first run in there as a 66 Shadow priest. Just snuck around the mobs, hugging the walls near the boss, and raped him :P Didn't aggro any mobs at all.

I have a question. When you enchant a weapon that has a chance to proc, such as Ripsaw, with Fiery Weapon, could the 75 wound damage proc the same hit along with the Fiery Weapon proc? After enchanting I've seen them proc separately. I haven't had much time to test it. Also, I know chance on hit weapons proc on Windfury attacks - which is why I firmly believe chance to proc weapons are must haves on shaman. I've seen Fiery Weapon proc on each of my Windfury attacks. :) Windfury actually gives you a 20% chance to gain two additional chances for your chance on hit weapons to proc.

Rogues can farm this formula from Black Rock Depths (BRD) easy at 70 and above. It procs often for toons under lvl 70. It also looks cool on your weapon(s). It's a nice alt if you can't afford the mongoose enchant. If you are over lvl 70, and want fiery weapon, its better to go with enchant weapon icebreaker, which is the new upgraded version of fiery weapon.

Just farmed this, took 7 attempts so it is fairly easy to get your hands on. Extremely easy to do if your a rogue and have a high enough lock picking skill.

Edit: Forgot to mention you will be instance locked after trying 5 times within a certain period of time, after my fifth try i had to wait an hour.

Does this enchant have reduced effectiveness over level 60, like Crusader, Lifestealing, and Icy Chill? Those all include that disclaimer in their tooltips, but Fiery (and Timbermaw rep Agility enchant) doesn't.

Fiery doesn't benefit from spell or melee crit, but anything that gives "crit rating" (like the "Master of Anatomy" buff from skinning) will improve the chance of your fiery procs critting.

This is one of the nicest looking weapon glows out there. I loved have it when I was leveling up.
The formula was easy to get for my level 80 warrior. Take the time to get the Shadowforge key, which is a breeze once you've died and obtained the quest. It took me 7-8 tries before the formula dropped.
Now I'm hoping to reap some rewards by selling this enchant scroll on AH. Might even head back to BRD sometime to farm another formula to put up at AH.

I ran 3 runs and got this drop all 3 times. Makes me wonder why I can't be this lucky with Battered Hilts (assuming they haven't buffed this thing's drop rate, which I don't believe they have).

The key makes it easy. Just unlock the left gate, the right gate, the door, go up the stairs and around the balcony and the boss is down the right hall, near the statue. He's only flagged as "rare", as he spawns every run.

I did a little testing with loom enchants and results was for me following (30min on lvl 60 dummy with 61 rogue white dps with 0 miss change and 0 expertise):

Crusader:.166108damage + 3282heal -> ~92,28dps + ~9,12hp5(or 1,82hps) (34procs)
Fiery:.......176345damage -> ~96,97dps (179procs)
Unholy:....176915damage -> ~98,29dps + damage reducing curse (92procs)

Ofcourse this was quite small scale and unreliable test, but according to this i would use fiery+unholy or unholy+unholy when using class which gets 1ap from 1str. For rogues Crusader might be nice until lvl 60 due the healing effect, but after that it weakens significently.

This is very easy to farm now with a higher level. As soon as you go in, there is an "Abandoned Mole Machine" on the right. I don't know if it is always there, but it was there for all my 80s. Use it and the "Hit the button labeled 'Into the Domicile'" option. From there, go straight out of the small room, take a left, and then a right at the long stretch, from there just head south. The path leads straight to the Pryomancer.

Kill him, loot, run back (you can't be in combat to use the machine), run out, reset the instance and try again until it drops!

This is so easy to farm now, just go in through the portal and use the abandoned mole machine and click on it to take you to "into the Domicile" and its out of the door, go left, then right past 2 blazing flameguards, into the shrine of thaurissan, kill boss, go back out to the Domicile and take the mole machine back to the entrance, out and reset and repeat.

The fiery enchant is not trainable, as it says it is a drop (the drop rate according to tests is also shown above.) The fiery enchant is one of the best known pre-burning crusade enchants for level 1-40 (depending on preference... I normally get rid of this in favor of better, higher level enchants by level 40 however using it on, for example, a heirloom item does work for levels all the way to 85 if you so please to do so.)
Being that it is so old most of the possible help has already been given in previous comments. However, I'd like to emphasize some things. The fiery is chosen because of its nice proc rate (which is better than, for example, crusader) and the mere fact that it does a good deal of elemental damage.
While the dps added may seem miniscule it is practically unmitigated dps. This means that when leveling up it is effected much less by armor reductions that, for example, added dps from an agility or attack power enchant. The only thing that can possibly reduce the damage dealt by fiery enchants is fire resistance. Given that resistances range from little to none to a great deal depending on what your facing (fire elementals for example) and the level of it(level 50 fire elementals verses level 20.) So, you can technically fight only enemies in more natural environments to avoid fire resistance and now you have a few added dps that will NEVER BE REDUCED.
It is noteworthy, however, that while armor always reduces physical damage, resistance are variable and there is a chance that even with high resistances a player will never resist the fire damage.
You may see a lot of low level, pvp oriented players using fiery because it allows them to get through that mail armor of any warriors or paladins they might see. However, most pvp oriented players that would normally get fiery will replace the fiery with a lifestealing-crusader combo or agility-agility combo for the buff, healing and damage or the damage, armor, and crits respectively (basically fiery is only damage oriented, the other two aid in multiple areas.) And eventually just get mongoose. Players that do get fiery often try to get expertise and hit rating to increase their chances of getting procs and hitting the enemy, so proc rate will have different averages between players (I'm guessing the proc rate in the very first quote was not counting hit rating... I don't even remember if they had hit rating then for this level range o,..,o.) Just so my advice can be even more basic here some of the basic wow terms I used mean:
pvp = player verses player
Dps = damage per second
Procs = whenever anything with a random chance of occurring occurs. This can be applied to both enchants and certain items.
Lifestealing = this is another enchant In the game that grants the chance to steal a portion of someone’s health and use that health to heal yourself.
Crusader = an enchant that has the chance to greatly increase your strength (fixed amount) and also apply a heal (much larger than lifestealing’s heal.)
Mongoose = an enchant for higher leveled players (used to be a top of the line enchant before the burning crusade.) This enchant granted a chance to increase agility by 120, which is 120 attack power for rogues (much more dps than a fiery gives, even with armor factored in, and it gives a lot of dodge and crit.) Additionally it has the chance to raise attack speed.
This vocab is obviously really basic to any experienced player but I tried to make this as all encompassing advice as I could.
Sources: I didn't really perform any tests, however I have been using fiery enchant (both gave them as an enchanter and used it for leveling and pvp) for a few years before burning crusade all the way till now. I'd say that is give or take about 5 years of experience with the enchant. I have probably used the enchant on around 20 characters by now. Hope this information helped ^^.

For all of you saying it is easy to farm this chant formula, NO IT IS NOT. The chance that he will drop it is ridiculously low, thx again Blizz, and if you don't get it by the third try, Blizzard won't let you reset the instance and enter it again. You can try 3 times an hour until you get it though, but that is NOT easy!

This is probably the best recipe to level your enchanting from 265 to 285 so definitely worth getting. I was lucky and picked it up on first run with a level 90 character.
The reasons why this is such a good recipe are twofold. The materials are dirt cheap (at least on my server). There is very little use for small radiant shards and essence of fire nowadays and I found plenty on the AH for buttons. The other reason is this is an enchant that people will pay for! Enchant on to vellum and sell them as they sell for much more than the materials.

I need to say that Fiery Damage is great for "Clothers" like Twinks : Holy paladin, Mage, Priest, Warlock, Druid healer...
Dont use Fiery damage for mail targets because then is low proc. Little better is Leather, and great proc is for Clothers...
