Wondering if its really a 2% drop rate -- hubby and I were doing the venture company mining quest last night, killing enough for each of us to get the 8 or so crystals required, and we picked up 3 copies of this enchant, in less than an hour. Really strange.

Is this enchant useful at all in TBC, is there a vein that requires 380 mining?

Do not hesitate to farm when you see %2 drop ratio. Go farm, I got mine in 9th kill. Good luck. :)

I cleared out the entire camp twice and ended up with:

I suspect this recipe is no longer available, as I had farmed it up before the world-breaking, and it is no longer in my spellbook, and appears not to drop from the goblins it used to.

Just picked this and Formula: Enchant Cloak - Lesser Agility from the ah from the same person

perhaps someone was just having a clear out of of old "junk" as it seems the other formula is out of the game too,

ive sent a mail to him/her and will edit as soon as i find were (when) they dropped...

......they were got before Cata......in that case probably the best 10g ive spent

A GM just confirmed for me that this no longer drops from monsters in the game.

But.....yes it still does exist, so you could pick it up on the AH if someone had it sitting in their bank.

it appears that his enchant and Piccone da Minatore are mutually exclusive. i had the Piccone da Minatore in my bags and equipt my gloves with this enchant and didnt get +15 in mining on my professions window. however i didnt try it out in the field on a metal vein that was 15 skill points beyond my skill lvl.

The possibility to sell pets on other realms has opened a new opportunity to get the three enchanting formulas that do no longer drop in-game (Formula: Incanta Guanti - Estrazione, Formula: Incanta Guanti - Estrazione Avanzata and Formula: Incanta Guanti - Erbalismo Avanzato) as you can quickly get enough money to snatch a low-priced auction with a level 1 character on a new realm.

The Undermine Journal has data on current actions on realms in US and European regions, which can be monitored for the formulas, and bought by creating a character on the realm and simply selling off pets to get money. I successfully used this just this week to get the two I was missing - Advanced Herbalism for 99g and Mining for 200g. It seems like Advanced Herbalism is by far the least common, so it should be high priority.

You need 1) the willingness to pay for character transfers/faction changes for worthless enchants, 2) some exclusive pets that are very likely to get sold instantly on a cheap trade chat ad, as well as 3) the willingness to sell them at grueling low prices to get a quick sale. I am fortunate enough to not collect pets, so I could sell my Magical Crawdad for 150g. The horror! I also sold Winter's Little Helper and Chrominius with success. (But remember - you can always get a new pet. These formulas are limited quantity!)

Once you see a low-priced auction, create a character on the server, run to Orgrimmar/Stormwind, check if the formula is still up, advertise some pets for cheap in Trade/General, wait for responses, sell the pet and buy the formula. I managed to do this on a German realm too, so don't be afraid if the realm is non-English - just pick up the lingo from the chat, use some Google Translate and any old school knowledge.

Maybe you cannot afford to move the character(s) with the formula(s) to your main realm/faction change the instant you buy them, but at least you have them on a character. As they were removed in Cataclysm and have not yet been re-added, I believe it is safe to say that they will never be re-added. I'll probably move my formulas in 6 months or so, or maybe I'll never move them, waiting for a re-addition.

Since I farmed this for a while, I finally got GM response about this formula and some others that are STILL obtainable:

I understand how frustrating it can be when items you want don’t drop.

The items you listed are all still in the game an obtainable. For example the fishing enchant comes primarily from the Murlocs in Hillsbrad.

Advanced Mining from Stranglethorn Venture Co. Strip Miners.

The Lesser Parry is a world drop sadly.

And the Herbalism one is the only one to be actually Removed from the game as the mobs that drop it have been removed from what I can tell - and I don't think it was moved. the only NPC still in there is: Molt Spinobor - he still drops it.
