If you are a tailor and want Vision Dust, you can make if you've got the pattern. They're very cheap to make (one single and a couple of vendor-bought stuff), and will usually yield 2-5 Vision Dust when disenchanted.

As a level 70 working on skilling up enchanting, I highly recommend farming Zul'Farrak. Not only will you get greens for vision/dream dust, but you get a ton of mageweave to make into more greens for disenchanting. All around a win/win scenario.

Just disenchanted 16 Black Mageweave Gloves. Got ~3 Stacks of Vision Dust and 2 Lesser Nether Essences.

So it can vary between people, but Got between 3 and 5 dust per disenchant on average.

I recomend that you disenchant level 34-40 stuff. The higher level the item is for, the more vision dust you will get. This means, that if you can either farm SM cath/ZF you might have a lot of vision dust in a very short time.

white bandit mask worked best for me if Jin'Althor is too high to farm for mageweave and you are a tank Uldaman had good yields.

If you have a LW that can make the nightscape headband only takes 5 thick leather and 2 silken thread get a 2-4 vision dust per at least in my exp.With a few lesser nether essences threw in

I'm a bit confused. I've been an enchanter for years and I always thought that green armor between levels 36-40 was guaranteed to yield multiple Vision Dusts, while green armor between levels 31-35 would yield one or maybe two and that this was the case for every type of dust. IE. level 21-25 green armor yields one or maybe two Soul Dust, while 26-30 green armor is guaranteed to yield mutiple Soul Dust.

Anyway, I just finished DE'ing Jouster's Greaves and only got one Vision Dust. With it a being a level 40 item, I assumed that I was guaranteed at least two Vision Dusts. Yesterday I DE'ed a bunch of level 36-40 greens and every single one yielded multiple Vision Dusts, Lesser Nether Essence or a Small Radiant Shard.

Anyway, I can't recall this ever happening to me. Is there a better way of determining which items will yield multiple dusts? Going by item level instead of equip level maybe?

I am not sure if they have changed this recently however Green Silken Shoulders will also disenchant into Vision Dust and they can be made with much more plentiful silk cloth instead of having to farm mageweave ;)

You can disenchant this from Aquamarine Pendant of the Warrior if you're a Jewelcrafter as well. If you have mining, just run through Blasted Lands or Burning Steppes and farm Mithril, then make the Pendants, then disenchant them. You get Nether Essences too.

Zul Farak mobs mostly drop greens that give Dream Dust now.
Just did couple of runs - got 4 Vision Dust and 19 Dream Dusts plus some Essences.

I noticed that best way is to take all that mageweave you looted, turn it into Rotolo di Telamagica and make Guanti di Telamagica Nera - got 2-5 per each DE from them. =)

First off, ZF DOES NOT yeild any great amount of greens to DE for Vision dust. Just ran it twice and came out with the sum total of 7 green items, the rest blues from the bosses. I've run SM and a few others and found the same thing. Best bet, get someone to create items for you to DE .. it's the only way.

I disenchanted 100 Maschera del Bandito Bianca just as Alayea did, but personally did not separate what came from from my total results.

I ended up with:

Still a great way to get Vision Dust - mageweave is cheap on my server so it's rather cost-effective to do it this way, albeit time-consuming.

Best item I've come across is the Black Mageweave Gloves. A tailor made item, usually drops 2 - 7 dusts a time. High drop rate. I made 42 of this item to disenchant and I got other mats 3 times out of the 42 items, so a high drop chance. Best place to farm the mageweave needed is Zul Farak. Took me 3 runs to get over 300 cloth.

For those who are NOT leveling Tailoring with Enchanting, getting the mats is obviously going to be more difficult.

Scarlet Monastery (both): Too low--gives you Soul Dust and related mats.
Zul'Farrak: Too high--only gave me 3 Vision Dust in one run, 8 Dream Dust, and related mats.
Razorfen Kraul: Too low--gives Soul Dust and related mats. I didn't bother to finish the instance.
Razorfen Downs: Just right--28 Vision Dust and related mats in one run.

If White Bandit Masks are too expensive on your server, you can buy Nightscape Headbands (leather) from the AH and they also DE in to Vision Dust.

On average you get 4-5 dust per headband.

You can actually get vision dust really easy + make lots of gold (depending on your server prices)

Mageweave cloth is 4g 95s a stack on my server, whereas vision dust is around 30g p/stack.

If you disenchant Maschera del Bandito Bianca you have a good chance of recieving 3-5 Vision Dust (although my guild does have ).

I decided 120 Maschera del Bandito Bianca should wield me enough dust to level my enchanting further. So i went ahead a bought the mats as each mask requires 1 x bolt of mageweave cloth (4 mageweave cloth) + 1 x heavy silken thread + 1 Bleach.

So I bought 24 stacks of Tessuto di Telamagica (480 cloth) + the vendor mats and sent a trade chat requesting a tailor, within 10 seconds I had a whisper who was willing to do all this for me for a mere 20g. It took a good 5-10 minutes for them to make it all but I was so happy I ended up paying a 25g fee as a bonus.

Anyway I ended up with an amazing 17 stacks of Vision Dust which was much more than I need to level my enchanting, along with around 12 Greater Nether Essence

All in all it cost me:

24 stacks mageweave = 118g 8s
vendor mats = around 5g
Tailor fee = 25g

Total = 148g 8s

A really good place to farm for mageweave in this current patch, is behind zul farrak, just fly over the mountain and get to the stairs and at the bottom, there are tons of trolls who drop mageweave...they all respawn within about 3/4 minutes and can get stack after stack of the stuff with very little effort at all. spent 1 hour there with my 90, and i ended up with 156 stacks and lots of greens.

If you want to disenchant Maschera del Bandito Bianca in bulk quantities by purchasing Tessuto di Telamagica, keep the following conversion rate in mind when checking the auction house prices:

1 stack of Tessuto di Telamagica will convert into 13 Vision Dust and 3 Lesser Nether Essence.

Over the past few months I've purchased several hundred stacks of Tessuto di Telamagica, and the numbers above are based on those averages. I buy when cloth is cheap, make my masks and disenchant them when I'm bored, and sell dust and essence when the AH has none in stock.

As stated in several other posts, this mask requires only one bolt of cloth to make, which gives you the biggest return on investment.

Vision Dust is disenchanted from Uncommon (green) items with an item level of 36 - 45 (Required level 30 - 40).

If you are a tailor, just farm some mageweave cloth and craft Black Mageweave Vests (2xbolts of mageweave and 3x silken thread), it's the lowest cost for level 41 which has a higher drop rate than 36-40. Disenchanting each one will usually give 5x Vision Dust (or theoretically a minimum of 3 which I have never seen until now)

Good Mageweave (and some Silk) Cloth farming spot is Razorfen Downs instance, which can be accessed from Thousand needles coords 47/23 (if you have a flying mount just fly over the trees until 46/23 or something and you will be able to vertically cross the barriers there, then it's 30'' walk till the entrance). The drops will also give some vision dust and shards if disenchanted.

Don't bother finding the white bandit mask if it's not on the auction house, the drop rate is frustratingly small for a small gain vs the vest.

I was hoping that these comments regarding Razor Fen Down and Vision Dust were still valid, but I don't think so.

One run through RFD, disenchanting everything, yielded...

1 large radiant shard
6 small radiant shards
1 large gleaming shard
32 silk cloth
~17 mageweave cloth (already had some in bag)

Get Vision dust from disenchanting Black Mage Weave Vest. you can learn the recipe from the Tailor profession NPC around level 215 .
