I farmed theese in Misty Valley in Swamp of Sorrows...I had to kill 85 mobs to get 4x Heart of the Wild's (for Tailoring gloves)

They are dropped regularly by the trolls in the temple in southern Hinterlands. These mobs are not elite anymore as of patch 2.3 and easily farmed. They also drop Mageweave Cloth at a very high rate.

i farmed for ~1h the elementals in Misty Valley, going in circles, and i get 4 pcs (i needed them for Dreamweave Gloves and Dreamweave Vest).
then i looked in AH and fortunately i found there a very low price (~80s each), so i bought 2 more for Dreamweave Circlet.

as Herbalist, while farming elementals in Valley you can gather Blindweed and Goldthorn at pretty good rates (in 1h i gathered about 18 pcs of Blindweed, which sells very good on AH on my server (~15g / 10pcs), and 12 pcs of Goldthorn, which goes at 8-9g/stack).

Maybe I just got lucky, but I was doing a couple quests in Thistleshrub Valley in Tanaris, and I got 5 in about an hour. Take into account that I was level 45 killing 48s and 49s (i.e., slow going), and I think it could be an effective farming area at higher levels if it's not too crowded.

I found these very easy to farm in the Irontree Cavern in Felwood. Wowhead says the drop rate is a bit lower than for other mobs, but the whole cave is full of the elementals (most of which will respawn by the time you get through, so there's no need to worry about running out of mobs). There's usually no one there, and the mobs also drop the occasional herb or living essence too. I got 9 in the past half-hour or so of farming on a level 63 lock.

I farmed these for levelling up my JC at level 60, so Dire Maul was not an option.

I got very good results from farming in Un'goro Crater. I did circuits through the northern and north eastern parts of the crater, killing all Tar beasts (The ones wiscalico named above) and all flower-type monsters (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=6510, http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=6509, http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=6511).

I got about 10 Hearts of the Wild in 30 minutes, and a bunch of other herbs to sell at the AH for some money (Fadeleaf, Gromsblood, Blindweed, Swiftthistle) plus lots of Savage Frond and Un'goro Soil that also sold out for some coin.

If you're even higher level than I was and run out of mobs, there are more flowers in the west and south west parts of the crater (http://www.wowhead.com/?npc=6512)

Also as a small note, if you're a Fire Mage or a Destruction Warlock, the Tar Beasts are very easy to aoe down in big groups, since they are extremely vulnerable to fire damage.

Would really recommend grinding these in Un'Goro Crater.
Got 20 within about 40 minutes, killed Tar Beasts, Tar Lords and Tar Creepers.
Fast respawn rate and got lots of other herbs for my inscriptor.

If you're high level, all of the elementals in Maraudon drop herbs and there's a fairly good drop rate on these as well.

The Tar Lurkers and Tar Lords in Un'goro Crater yielded up 4 of these for me in less than 20 kills. Statistically too small a count to be accurate, I know, but possibly worth exploring further if you need a fair amount of these.

if your like me a -"sometimes farmer " but then you cant find these herbs! when the data then gets too old ! specailly here in wowhead we are in 4.3 patch where's the new information at? i been farming for these for over 1 hour and nothing. i killed all the elementals but nothing i get. "why blizzard!" is there something im doing wrong or did they change everything around? or does it not a herb anymore. did blizz take this herb out of the game?

Patch 4.3, I'm averaging 20-25 per clear of Dire Maul East (Warpwood Quarter). Quite fast. Make sure to trigger all the traps and kill every Fiore Sferzante (little plants in big packs) — they usually drop no loot, but they do drop Heart of the Wild (frequently).

Your goal here is to kill all the little plants. Anything else you round up for AoE is fine — other stuff can drop Hearts — but the Whip Lashers are the keystone of the farming process. Move between them in a clean circuit; when they're all gone, reset. I racked up about 20 Heart of the Wild every 15 minutes once I got the hang of this. You can round up pretty much the entire instance, then stop once just to AoE.

IF YOU WANT LOOT, keep pets on Passive and turn OFF any damage shields or other passive mechanics. The little plants die in 1 hit, and if passive stuff kills them, you get no loot. No loot = wasted Heart of the Wild. So keep that stuff turned off!

Step-by-step instructions:

From the entrance, clear the entire upper terrace (map)
Skip through the Satyr area and kill Zevrin Thornhoof. He's up a winding, narrow hallway just past Hydrospawn; move in a straight line as you enter Hydro's room and you'll see the doorway to Zev (map).
When Zev's dead, baby, jump back down into Hydro's room and head to the other doorway (here)
You'll end up in a big garden area. Just round up everything and destroy it.
Now talk to the big tree guy (Legnoferreo il Redento), instruct him to break down the door.
You'll end up in a large room with a circular ramp leading down; clear out all the plants/tree men, then nuke Alzzin to make the wall collapse.
Enter the tunnel that appears (enjoy the Rich Thorium if you mine) and zone out.
You'll end up back in Feralas. Exit the little bunker room, turn left, RESET ALL INSTANCES (you forgot, didn't you?), then head right back into DM East.

I was farming living essence when a few of these dropped off of the felspore bog lords in the Tainted Forest area of the Blasted Lands. It was a decent drop rate: 3 in the first wave plus 1 more in the next half. However. last time I was there I don't recall any hearts of the wild drops. Go ahead and try, and if you get some, vote up my comment. Happy hunting!
