The Great Turtle Hatchlings drop 1 steak at about a 2/3 rate.

The Great Turtles seem to consistently drop 2, and I killed on Elder Great Turtle just to see and it dropped 5.

This took me a hole 10 minutes just killing the small turtles i would'nt really focus the great turtles or elders!

I found that doing this on my resto druid was quite painless. It took roughly 10-15 minutes to collect all 50 that are required for the quest. I only killed the Great Turtle Hatchlings, which when you attack 1 of them, any of them that are nearby will attack you as well. If your class is able to mitigate damage, I would suggest rounding up as many as you can and just AoE'ing them all down. Their snapping bite hurts a bit, but if you're a resto druid you can just drop a mushroom below yourself and you'll be ok. Good luck! Off to the next part of this quest.

As a prot Paladin, this took me less than 5 minutes. Farm the babies turtles and get it done. Watch their bites though, they aren't cute when they eat you alive!
