I have this set on my warrior, and let me tell you, it looks boss. My only complaint is that the shoulders don't seem to match very well, and there are few alternative options. One would be, (IMO) Stoneform Shoulders but, again, they don't quite match.

Still one of the better looking "simple" sets though!

I downloaded WMV (the most current one) and put together the set, then cycled through every single plate shoulder in the game. There were other shoulders that matched, but they were too simple for my taste, and I didn't list them because I figured that's why people want replacements in the first place.

Best shoulders would have been the Spallacci d'Acciaio Tagliente however they were removed from game long long ago. Very sad.. yes. Depending on how OCD you are, you could try going with the Paraspalle a Piastre d'Alabastro, with Elmetto a Piastre da Campo. It would help even out the colors since there really aren't very many 'shiny' pieces of gear

I'm having trouble finding either belt due to low drop rates and my realm's AH being dead, so I'm using the far more common Cinturone di Venarossa as a replacement in the meantime. It matches this set somewhat well, though the black is a little off. Hope this helps anyone missing the belt like me.

Does anyone have any tips for acquiring this set? On the list of mobs that drop these items, Blackrock Depths came up a lot. Ive been through BRD now more times than I can count, clearing and looting everything. Havent seen a single piece. Nothing on AH either. Should I keep at it and pray to the RNG Gods? Or should I try a different tactic? Thanks in advance!

Helm of the holy avenger is by far the best plate helm for this set in my opinion, the only completly silver plate helm of its type i believe.

If you want an alternative look for the shoulder slot, the Spallacci dello Schianto Selvaggio that drop from Highlord Omokk in Blackrock Spire match the colours of the straps on the Overlord plate. In my opinion it gives a more interesting overall look, and avoids the problem of trying to find metal looking plate that isn't entirely the wrong shade.

To resumé:

The easiest way to get this set is to check AH frequently. If your server is dead, then you have only one option left - farm yourself.

The whole set is world drop so the fastest way to get it is to kill rare mobs from lvl 47 - lvl 53. This covers following zones:

Kalimdor - Tanaris, Winterspring, Felwood
Eastern Kingdoms - Badlands, Searing Gorge, Swamp of Sorrows.

Install NPCscan addon and it's a GG. You might also find a lot of other transmog sets in that level range, so keep your eyes open.

I am using this set with Copritesta Eroico and Paraspalle del Tributo as suggested above. The shades are not really similar but i love the look of helmets like this.

To "tie" the pieces a bit together i used the shattered sun tabard: Insegna del Sole Infranto

Paraspalle della Stirpe Nera would look amazing with this set if only they weren't Mail. It doesn't appear there is a plate equivalent in the proper color. Perhaps one day Blizz will allow cross armor-type transmoging?

I really love this set for its classiness. Here's what I've come up with to round out the look.

Shoulders - Paraspalle di Zul'farrak

The metal is a little bit darker than the steel of the other pieces, but not as dark as the mesh, so I think it works great. It also has some dark blue cobalt in it, which matches great with. . .

Elmo Foderato del Clan del Martello - This is a perfect match for the shoulders and I think it complements the look of this set. Elmo Lucente della Guardia is a good alternative. It's lighter, with light-colored horns, and more closely matches the overlord armor than the shoulders.

As fury, I complete the classy feel with 2x Duemani del Cavallerizzo and Cintura Reale Qiraji because the jewel kinda matches the jewel on the hilt of the swords, though I'm still looking for something else.

As far as cloaks, I think it's up to your preferences. Personally I think Mantello del Dio Caduto just looks awesome.

The best helm I've found so far is Corona del Gran Condottiero. Color is a dead on match. Still shows full face and hair and has a great look.

I've found that the Spallacci a Piastre Oscure del Gladiatore Brutale work well with this set...they uh *ahem* match the crotch plate o_o

Only warriors and death knights can get the dark shoulder color.

I think rather than try to replace JUST the ugly shoulders, you enthusiasts should go a step further and replace the gloves and boots as well. Should you do so, you will want to use colors that mesh well with the fairly light grey/silver, so using other cool colors like blue, green, black, or even purple would be a good start.

For example, by replacing the overlord gloves, boots, and shoulders with Spallacci a Piastre Imperiali, Stivali a Piastre Imperiali, and Guanti del Guardiartiglio, I have come with a fairly common look used by a few people I see time to time in game. Despite replacing three items, I still get a neat, simple look that, in my opinion, still meshes well with the rest of the set.

For transmogging purposes (and not just this one), try using a color that are known for looking well together with the desired item(s). You can even use multiple colors, so long as they don't clash (too much). The common colors combos are Red/Green, Blue/Orange, and Yellow/Purple. Sometimes you'll want to have the two color pairs to be as light or dark as each other, but sometimes you can get away with a little deviation. If these colors don't work out for you, try adding some items that are white, black, or gray.

Don't be afraid to experiment!

And the best thing is that you can get copies if you're not a warrior! Elmo del Vigore Brunito can be bought from your guild vendor if your guild has reached level 20. It costs 1500G, and bonus discounts apply. You can also purchase Paraspalle del Vigore Bruniti from your faction's Justice Point vendor for 2175 Justice Points. Smashing!

This is one of my two favorite mog sets. I call this the "Robocop Set".

If you're looking for a good sword to blend with this, I recommend Sul'thraze la Sferzatrice. The texturing on the blade is almost a perfect match with the underlying dark chainmail texture of the Overlord plate.

Just saw I Blood Elf in this set, it looked amazing so I came here to see what it looked like on Female Trolls.. It's looks terrible on them! (At least to me) The big honkin' feet ruin it. >.<

Oh well, at least my DK tier still looks incredible. :)

I have this set on my DK, and while I like the small size and simple lines of the shoulders, I don't like that they are grey instead of silver. I am also not a fan of the "headband" helm style for this look. So, rather than replacing the shoulders, I echo the grey tone by using the Korjan Helm Calzari Foderati dei Fiatoferale and the Dojani Waistband Fusciacca dei Dojani. Check out the overall look on the character here: Teleute. I think it blends together rather well! I'll also be replacing her weapon shortly with a better sword, once I have an upgrade.

THE OVERLORD'S SET FOR HUMAN PALADINS

My current favorite use of the Overlord set uses the following ornaments:

Shoulders: Baleheim Epaulets
Bracers: Grizzlemaw Vambraces
Belt: Still the Girdle of Uther. Can't imagine not using this for my pally.
Back: Silver-Thread Cloak
Shirt (very important!) Stylish Black Shirt

What I like about the shoulders and braces combination is that their trim matches the banding of the rest of the Overlord's suit. The Stylish Black Shirt is important since it removes any possibility of skin showing just in case you use mog pieces that otherwise wouldn't cover everything up, such as my Grizzlemaw Vambraces. Screenshots should be up in a few days. Look for the ones that have "Baleheim Epaulets" in the descriptions.

My main is a paladin, and I love this suit. It's my "go to" end-game mog set. For me, it hasn't required much in the way of sprucing it up. I like its basic, simple look and particularly its "hard day at the office" slightly-mismatched shoulders.

When the mood is upon you and you feel the need to be transformed from looking like the hero on the front lines to the Hero who's telling the other heroes what to do on the front line, it doesn't take much fiddling about. The following alternate pieces share the nicety of being drops or vendor purchases rather than quest rewards.

BELT: For just a wee bit of color that keeps it classy, it turns out that - entirely appropriately - the Girdle of Uther fits the bill beautifully.

HELMET: Entirely by accident, I discovered that the Justicar Crown gives the suit a downright lordly (may I say royal?) flair. It's just a very, very nice fit. When you're out there Questin', you need to look like a paladin who's in command. It brings hope to your allies and despair to your enemies.

Let's face it - there is no absolutely perfect helmet for this set, but half the fun is trying to make the close ones work out.

CAPE: It turns out that Burning Crusades instances drop excellent capes. The keys to a good cape for this set are simplicity of color and a decent length. Tell you what, I didn't believe it would work until I tried it, but the right cape is (almost) all you'll need to complete the set. (I say "almost" because, let's face it, an unfortunate tabard can make anything look bad. These alternate gear pieces don't need a tabard to set them off, but a nice one can make you look like you were knighted by Uther himself.)

BLACK: Cloak of the Craft
BLUE: Devilshark Cape
RED: Ruby Drape of the Mysticant
BLUE-ISH GRAY (BERYL?): Hellfire Cloak
WHITE ON GREEN: Burnoose of Shifting Ages

The Frost Lord's Battle Shroud has been resurrected as a Midsummer Fire Festival instance drop from Ahune. It has the same basic color as the Hellfire Cloak, but a vastly superior border. This is the one cape that does not drop at the Burning Crusades level. Also, it's a seasonal item. I put it on this list because it's worth waiting for. That little border makes a huge difference.

SHIELD: There are plenty of excellent shields, but I haven't come across anything that beats the Spiritual Barrier, which model can be obtained several different ways. Be warned: If you don't have some type of off-setting color with your Overlord's set (its innocuous brown belt is practically invisible), this shield makes you run the risk of looking a little too silver, almost campy. The Spiritual Barrier itself is a quest reward, but the same model can be obtained through drops.

ONE-HANDED: Well, I still 'mog the tried and true Mighty Iron Hammer. It's a blacksmith item, so if you can't find someone to craft it, then you can also get the Stormstrike Hammer from an Honor vendor for about 30 minutes' worth of HP (or an hour's worth if you have terrible luck in the queues). I can go either way here. The Stormstrike's gold trim matches the Girdle of Uther belt, but the Mighty Iron Hammer's no-nonsense, we've-been-busting-heads-all-day look matches the shoulders. Guess I'll save the gold trim for special guild events. (RP server, naturally.)

TWO-HANDED: I'm surprised nobody's yet mentioned the Divine Warblade, which is an exact copy of the House Wrynn Claymore, but unlike the Claymore is obtained from drops rather than a quest reward. Show your colors, men of the Alliance!

Personally, I pull this set out when I want to have an Argent Crusader type look. For two-handed weapons, I use Spadone d'Arcanite, and for dual-wielding, I use Lama Fosforescente. Both have a white glow that overrides other weapon enchantments, especially the Phosphorescent Blades:

I like this armor set because I prefer a simpler, more classic look. But, like practically everyone else who likes this transmog set, it bugs me that the shoulders are a different color. Personally, I use grimscale pauldrons with this set. The color doesn't match any better (it's about the same as the set shoulders), but I prefer the simpler shape (I don't like pointy and/or spiky shoulders). For the helm, I use the field plate helmet (or steel plate helm, if you prefer a plume). I also replaced the feet with grim sabatons because I don't like the mail-over-the-toes look of the set piece. Edit: Shoulders can be hidden in Legion! Rejoice, all ye seekers after the classic knight-in-shining-armor look; for no longer need ye seek fruitlessly for a matching set of plain and simple shoulders!

Unlike many armor sets where the bracers are entirely covered by the gloves -- and therefore not necessary for Transmog purposes -- the Overlord's Vambraces are critical to completing the look of the Overlord's set.

I find the set to make you look like a Stormtrooper from Star Wars. It's plate so I can't get this on my hunter so I have this on my warrior with dual Spadone Leggerissimos. Next best thing, I guess.

For this set steelforged weapons and shields match the set perfectly i used the two-hander just because its pretty sick looking especially dual wielded by a fury warrior and the weapons are crafted so fairly easy to obtain. their is a blue crystal in the shoulders that match the blue crystals in all the weapons so its a perfect fit. The gold rings accentuate the cloak and the rings on the chest as well.

Also really enjoying this but need shoulders to match cant find one to match the look

Granspada del Tocco Mortale, with this sword i like the Cappa Consumata di Gargoyle Pellepietrosa as the cloak it matches the dark on the sword better then the white with gold trim type cloak
also a simple easy pick up that works well is Flamberga

I used Paraspalle dell'Anima Luminosa from the paladin boosted set and Belt of Valor (Cintura del Valore - Replica for newer players) to add a little decoration to it. Couldn't find a plate helm I really liked but I did happen to have Camaglio di Metallo Lucido in my appearances tab. One of the very few plate chain coifs in the game that has since been removed. If you do not have it, but managed to get Cuffia di Alaina,( it is cosmetic so transmogs with any armor type) the hood works as well.

Add a tabard to hide the very very plain chestplate and you are good to go. The best thing about this armor is its plainness.

If you are building the full overlords set for a transmog, The Sunsong Armored Bracers are not a perfect match but will fill the gap between gloves and chest and not ruin the look as a temporary measure. They are a quest reward from pandaria quests, so easy to obtain.

I find Spaulders of the Righteous to be a fairly nice match if you're looking for something a little more substantial on your shoulders. There's enough silver and gold going on in the Overlord's gear to get away with them as part of a set. (Screenshot submitted)

Of course I'd never substitute my Overlord's Tiara *cough* I mean Overlord's Crown.

Love this set. I find the fact that the gauntlets and boots don't stick out like water wings very appealing. I hide the shoulders which works out to a form-fitting Crysis suit type of look, although no luck finding an appropriate headpiece so far. The whole thing works very well with Emil's Brand, Archaic Defender or any straight to slightly curved narrow blade with a silvery color scheme.

I'm using the "Sterling Fortress Spaulders" from Torghast which have a very similar silver look. I only transmogged one shoulder because the shield I'm using (upgraded Steelforged Shield) is pretty big and "covers" the other shoulder.

I have the overlord belt, but liked the 'Plainsthunder Waistguard' a lot more. It matches the set and it doesn't have as much brown as the overlord's.

Finally the 'Steelscale cloak' really brings it all together. Would like to get yall's thoughts.
